  1. Aye, he wouldn't be the first to sabotage his own career.
  2. Robinson's club interview after the game yesterday was mainly about the lack of effort and/or fitness in relation to the players who are not getting a game, despite St Mirren's form. Same stuff we all know - January signings are only about bringing in bodies with potential, because they can't afford to buy players who have actually been playing somewhere, even if that was English non-league. Campbell desperately needs someone to show some faith, keep him on beyond the summer and put him through a proper pre-season. There's surely still a player in there, but these short term deals, where his contribution is (unsurprisingly) almost zero, are killing his career.
  3. Miller starting again today v Sassuolo.
  4. He also looks like he wants to be here.
  5. My arithmetic's probably as crap as that game in Edinburgh, but if Hearts were to lose tonight, does that not mean the league title's in our own hands? If we win all our remaining games, obviously....
  6. Stamatelopoulos has gone to Sydney FC on loan for the rest of the season.
  7. Dundee Utd, St Johnstone and Aberdeen have all had games called off in the last couple of weeks due to the rain.
  8. Aberdeen game's off. Looking at the weather forecast for the next few days, Saturday must be in doubt too.
  9. 4pm inspection. If it takes as long as ours, it'll be half-time before they decide if it can go ahead. Scottish football never learns.
  10. I don't see any reason why he wouldn't be able to play, if the manager wants him to. It's just like he's been out injured for a couple of weeks.
  11. With Welsh coming back, I'll take that window all day long. We've got the players here - hopefully, Hibs and the rest have just thrown mud at the wall.
  12. Welsh on the bench for Celtic.
  13. Probably depend how close to fitness he is. Sounds like Stuparevic has recovered now.
  14. 3-1 win for Udinese. 70 odd minutes for Miller.
  15. I doubt they're too bothered about whether he comes back here on loan or not, given they've obviously still been paying a significant part of his wage. He was likely taken back to make a point, and playing him - as weeyin said - enforced that point. If they had a decent offer for him, from us or elsewhere, he wouldn't have got near the pitch.
  16. Osong's gone back to Nottingham Forest.
  17. I don't believe he brought him back and played him just to cup tie him. Given he couldn't have played against them even if he'd stayed with us, that makes no sense. If you read O'Neill's reasoning behind the recall, it's all about being down to the bare bones due to a lack of signings. He spoke about one of the young defenders being a great prospect - there was absolutely no suggestion Welsh has a future at Celtic. 10 changes tonight doesn't suggest a lack of players, but their performance did scream a lack of quality. O'Neill plays the bewildered pensioner, but he knows exactly what he's doing, and reading the Celtic fans reaction to the recall shows they got the message, loud and clear.
  18. O'Neill recalling Welsh purely to show up the board's lack of signings isn't much of a conspiracy theory, given he basically said that was the reason he did it.
  19. I don't buy the 'deliberately cup tie him' angle. Unless we were planning on buying Welsh, he couldn't have played for us against Celtic anyway. Playing him today shows he wasn't brought back with the intention of flogging him to anyone else in January, and subbing him proves he has no future at Parkhead. That suggests O'Neill brought him back as a fuck you to the board, or a fuck you to Welsh. No idea what he could have against the player, so my money would be on the first - but that still results in the second.
  20. Bastard just took Welsh off anaw.
  21. He couldn't play for any other club who signed him this season.
  22. When you take into account the important games he couldn't play in, is it worth bringing him back?
  23. They may well do, but it wouldn't make much sense. He couldn't play against them in the cup either way.
