  1. Yeah, Watt's had more clubs than you know who but, to the best of my knowledge, he's yet to sign for one in the Scottish Championship, including Dundee Utd. Moult probably took the best offer he got, given his injury problems. I just don't see Utd spending more to bring in another striker o good money with those 2 already on the books. Unless something should happen to either of them between now and January.
  2. The Old Firm won't be interested, Aberdeen have a couple of guys who must be on decent money, Hearts obviously have Shankland as their main striker - would the 2 of them be suited to playing together? - and Hibs have a few on their books too. Would Dundee Utd spend the money to get themselves up, given how well they're going? Would Van Veen fancy the Championship? He might find his options in Scotland aren't as great as we'd imagine. And if it's a half season loan to fit in with his baby's birth, why not go where you're loved? If we can come up with the cash.
  3. It may well be, but since when was behaving in an embarrassing manner the criteria for what folk can or can't do?
  4. Form wise, Alexander was doing pretty well here until Boxing Day 2021. After that it went over a cliff. Same thing's happening with Kettlewell, obviously. Assuming we lose to Celtic, he has the Dundee game to find a win and match Alexander's run of 5 points from 33. Probably something we'll see every season or two now, the inevitable end result when limited managers are given limited funds to bring in limited players.
  5. 32, hasn't played in over a year and he's still not fully fit. No harm to the guy, but I don't see many managers pushing the boat out to sign him.
  6. You're right, as interesting a discussion as it is, it's not really one for on here and I should probably have left it alone. Getting back to its origin, I don't see any circumstances where Neil Lennon becomes our manager. Leaving aside all the footballing and financial issues, this is an example of the baggage he'd tow behind him wherever he went - I doubt he'll ever manage in Scotland again.
  7. What rights of others are you referring to?
  8. Those people choosing to shout during the silence are exercising their right to do so. Since that right was paid for by millions of lives, the least we can do is respect the concept of freedom of speech/expression, which means putting up with the ramblings of folk who can't show the tiniest bit of respect for 1 or 2 minutes a year.
  9. No, no....no, no, no, no. Sounds like our form guide.
  10. Given his recent record, Alexander will be looking back at his glory days along with us. Kettlewell's managerial record has improved greatly in his time here, so maybe they should sack him while his Motherwell related stats are still the better of the two.
  11. Well deserved. Missing the Cup Final must've been a hard one to take, but he stuck around, unlike a few others. He was also part of the best Motherwell team I've watched. And if VAR had been around to check our goals, the game would've finished 10 minutes ago.
  12. It's hardly cherry picking to point out the huge increase in the number of goals we're losing now compared to when we were winning games. You can blame the manager and/or the board for that, but until our defence stops leaking like a sieve, we're gonnae keep losing - and even last season's van Veen would struggle to stop that.
  13. Ourselves, Kilmarnock, Livingston and Aberdeen all managed one shot on target this weekend. St Mirren had the sum total of zero and Ross County went daft with two. It's a shit league, which is lucky for us.
  14. In the final 5 games of last season we scored 9 goals and conceded 3. In our last 5 games we have scored 8 goals and conceded 12. I don't have blinkers on or a guide dug, and it doesn't look like it's a lack of goals that's killing us.
  15. If we had an actual owner of the club, they'd have delivered the manger's baws on a platter by now. There might also be money to go out and head hunt a boss rather than go down the route we're on. Having said that, we could ask Hibs fans how that approach has worked for them. Or all the other clubs whose genius owners employ/sack a serial failure every 6 months.
  16. Fair enough. I misunderstood the 'for you' bit. I don't doubt there are some folk who would want McFadden as manager (as proved on here), though I've never actually met anyone who does, and I'd hazard a guess he's even less interested in the job than Craigan. In the real world, we might well be looking at Frail.
  17. Yer fine. I know what year it is and I've no desire to see McFadden as our manager. Where did you dream that one up?
  18. I think Faddy might like to see you in the hot seat. If he gets to throw the switch.
  19. We'll never know, but Fletcher injured his knee after 3 or 4 weeks at Wrexham and he's just had an operation that could keep him out till next year. The club took a chance on Moult last season and were slaughtered when it went wrong, so they were never going to chance that happening again. He's doing well in the Championship, but most of the teams he's facing are of a lower standard than the ones we're up against (if that's conceivable) and there are major concerns about him playing on artificial surfaces. Imagine we signed him and he couldn't play at Rugby Park or Almondvale. Mind you, none of that excuses the guys we did sign/re-sign.
  20. It's definitely more of an issue now. Last season, those goals would've got us the six to eight points. Assuming he gets more time, Kettlewell has a couple of weeks to come up with a way to stop us losing cheap goals and then hope the players can implement his plans. If either of them don't, he's done.
  21. Probably the #Relegation, relegation, Ole, Ole, Ole# part. It's a distinct possibility every season, and if you keep saying it every season, eventually you'll be right. Luckily for us, if you keep saying we won't win every week, eventually you'll be wrong.
  22. Our success last season wasn't just built on one guy discovering his shooting boots. The fact we stopped shipping goals meant we could win games 1-0 or 2-1. Now we can't seem to get started until we're 2 down - you can't score 8 goals in 5 games but come away with just 2 points. We've outscored half the teams in this league, including Hearts, but we can't beat any of them. It's pretty easy to see the first thing that needs done if we're gonnae give ourselves a chance of doing that, since we're clearly not going to find another KVV in January.
  23. Fair enough, obviously you don't hold him responsible for our current problems. But do you credit him in any way for last season's turnaround, or was it just down to one guy scoring goals?
