  1. If he'd scored from there, yeah, we'd have been talking about it for the next 30 years. But he hit the guy in front of him. You just know if someone's gonnae score a goal like that, it'll be against us, partly down to our usual bad luck, partly down to our poor play/decision making.
  2. Hendry taking that shot was naive in the extreme, but just heard the Czech goalscorer saying he'd noticed Marshall doing the same thing in the first half, so he was ready to go for it when the chance came.
  3. So sad, awful to hear he's left a young family behind.

So sorry to hear this. Didn't know Andy, but I always enjoyed reading his views, always sensible, interesting and level headed, someone a lot of us could learn a thing or two from. Condolences to his family and friends.
  5. You just cannae beat those colours. Beautiful.
  6. My pals on Kerrydale Street assure me Turnbull's going nowhere yet.
  7. Sorry to see Kelly miss out. Two current goalkeepers aged 38 and 36, fine, but a 33 year old Rangers reserve is hardly planning for the future.
  8. We'll see with Emmanuel-Thomas. They signed Main. It'll depend who's playing alongside Gallagher, he looks good alongside decent players, but wasn't much kop at holding a wonky defence together. This Jack Gurr they're supposedly after, it's got to be a joke, unless his stats are wrong. But then again, they used their Atlanta connections to bring in Glass, so you never know.
  9. Aberdeen's signings so far: Gallagher and Jay Emmanuel-Thomas. Now they're supposedly looking at bringing over a 25 year old from Atlanta, whose playing statistics are less impressive than Glass' managerial record. Shows you the kinda level we need to deal at, but also, with the right guys looking for players, there's no reason we can't get back up the league next season.
  10. 1993/94 for me. Proved their consistency over the course of the season and came bloody close to winning the league, closer than most of us probably remember.
  11. I was tempted to vote for it myself, just to annoy peepul.
  12. I thought that too, but Matt Macey's just signed a new 2 year deal. You'd think Kelly would prefer somewhere he was pretty much guaranteed a game, given his position at QPR.
  13. With everything he's said (and not said), I think it's fair to say Alexander decided his strongest team no longer included Gallagher, and that decision wasn't based on ability.
  14. Alexander said he wanted 2 players for every position. What's the point in chucking Johnston, then hunting for someone else who will still be behind O'Donnell in the queue?
  15. We start next (and every) season in a relegation fight, which continues until we're not, hopefully. That's always the first aim, so I doubt it'll be anything other than scrapping for results type football from the word go. Alexander looks like a manager who's happy to get points any way he can.
  16. I don't expect much, but I wouldn't offer Seedorf terms of surrender.
  17. Aye. Brian McClair: The Second Wave.
  18. How many new faces would you expect to see in the starting line-up come kick off?
  19. Aye, let's hope it's because of the big guy in the corner with a D on his hat.
  20. Logically, could only be because Alexander's actually interested in bringing him back next season, or someone else is on the naughty step. With Hastie, still thinks there's something there? Or Lawless is heading for the door? Which would be no surprise to anyone.

Alexander said earlier in the week he'd be happy to play him if his attitude was good, and he wanted to see players who were motivated to win the final 2 games. He admitted he hadn't spoken to Gallagher since the signing was announced, then dropped him. I suppose we take what we want out of that. He'll be a miss as a player, but I get the feeling there's a few folk won't be too sorry to see him go.
  22. I hope Motherwell win. The rest, I'm no bothered about. Though it'd be just like Accies to drag Killie into it with them.

Sorry, the question as to why he's not playing wasn't aimed at you grizzly, I'm just pissed off that our captain - a Scottish internationalist - isn't being/can't be relied on even at the death, when others who won't be here next season, are. Magloire might go on to bigger things, but he's not the better player of the two right now. Lamie, I criticised earlier in the season, but he's proved me wrong. Still got the ability to be a bit of a bomb scare at times, but he puts everything into it and looks like he wants to be here, which counts for an awful lot at clubs like ours.

It is. Very. Alexander's clearly sticking with what he considers his strongest team, determined to get 7th place and the extra money. Campbell started last night, some of the others obviously won't be here next season, yet Gallagher's dropped to the bench. Despite, as you said in as many words elsewhere, Magloire not being up to it. Gallagher's still our player as long as we're paying him. Why can't we get the last couple of games out of our captain before he leaves?

The injury stuff I never went with, so it's of no interest to me now. I'm not talking about January, I'm talking about last night. Gallagher was in the team, signed a pre-contract with Aberdeen, now he's not. Alexander said the other day he wouldn't have any problem playing him if his attitude was ok, so you can take what you want from that. The official club statement on his departure couldn't be any drier if they'd left it out all day in the Sahara.
