  1. St Mirren fans greetin about Celtic last night anaw. Fuckin blowtorch wouldn't leave a mark. Zero point in making any effort to follow the rules, given the folk who make them end up ignoring them.
  2. They're reminding clubs not to over celebrate goals. How much more compliant could we be?
  3. Ok. We're obviously in no position to buy anyone currently playing at a top club, so if you want someone who's had a career near the top, you're almost certainly left with 2 options: guys who are now past it, or 'problem' players, and I doubt now's the time to take that gamble. The ideal signing is a Tommy Coyne, but how often does that happen for any team?
  4. Can you be sure he's not? An unknown quantity is more exciting, and that's great when he's Louis Moult, but how many others have turned out to be duff? Stuart, not Damien.
  5. The focus is on whether St Mirren or Kilmarnock could field stronger teams if the games get played. What if Gallagher, O'Donnell and Campbell leave this month? Two full and one U21 international players missing because those 2 couldn't fulfil their fixtures and the SPFL won't let us fulfil ours.
  6. Much better performance first half, better attitude whole game, at least trying to get the win at the death. Problems persist of a bench that weakens us, whoever comes on, and falling away later in the game. The players just don't look fit enough, which isn't helped by the understandable reluctance to bring subs on. Things that can hopefully be remedied over the next few weeks.
  7. Fair to say some will never be up to it. And why are we so unfit?
  8. Interesting to see folk discussing whether we have actually signed bad players, or they're no that bad, it's just Stephen Robinson couldn't do anything to get a decent performance out of them. Either way, he doesn't leave smelling of roses. Hopefully it's the latter for a few of them.
  9. The question was whether you'd accept Tommy Wright as manager if he could deliver a cup win. Obviously no guarantee of that, and obviously you wouldn't. If he does get the job he probably won't be the popular choice, but I doubt you'll find many folk who'd rather see us relegated than have him at Fir Park.
  10. Does that include the season they won the Scottish Cup?
  11. It's a done deal, accordion to the Record.
  12. Probably sees his chance, now or never. Leaky defence and a manager on borrowed time who won't be given millions to shore it up. Dare say I'd feel the same if it was me and Motherwell were sniffing about. If he wants to stay and fight for us, great, if no, cheerio. Wonder if the Mars bar will be in fun size installments.
  13. Gary Neville on sacking Alexander at Salford: "The first manager that left the club was third in the league, the second who left the club had won promotion and Graham was in a really good position in the league, but we always change at a point where we’re doing quite well." Neville apparently happy with results but disappointed in performances, wanted to change their style of play. Some comments from fans about the football not being attractive enough and too many draws. Does that put Alexander in the same bracket as Wright?
  14. We will have our cake and eat it, as a clueless bastard once said.
  15. Whoever comes in as manager is gonnae have to rocket us to glory with the same level of player that currently provides the dross that passes for football in this country. There are no guarantees with anything, but if someone said the next guy will have us finishing 5th, 6th, 7th for the next 4 or 5 years and provide a cup win, how many folk would say no to that?
  16. Aye, mentioning the clause is pretty much a dead giveaway to me. No doubt the fact he's an established Scottish internationalist will be the big selling point, which'll be conveniently ignored when we refuse to make his dream come true for 2 bob and a Mars bar.
  17. True. And he could quite easily tell us it's bollocks. IF he wants to. We'll see soon enough.
  18. If the source close to Gallagher is a journalist just stirring it, you'd wonder how they knew the details of that clause in his contract. If it doesn't actually exist, mibbe he'd feel the need to say something about it. If.
  19. What I know by now is that clubs, players, agents all use newspapers etc to further their agendas. And say what you like about the rags, when it comes to fitba, more often than not, they know what's happening before we do. If it's a deal that's worked well for both parties, why does it look like he might get a move to his dream club while we're left up shit creek without a captain? Fair enough, his main concern is Declan Gallagher, so good luck to him. Mine is Motherwell FC. Respect is earned, so we'll just need to let this play out and see what happens.
  20. OK, no more baseball cracks. But a captain desperate to leave a sinking ship is pure class. Is that what you call an intentional walk?
  21. Claiming Gallagher feels like he has a gun to his head. Is that better or worse than a baseball bat to the head?
  22. We've a dog's dinner of a squad. Guys like Seedorf who play, disappear, then reappear for 5 minutes before we remember just how poor they are. Cole being brought back smacks of laziness and an obsession with familiarity, while Long only did us the honour of returning because he'd hee haw offers elsewhere. Unfinished business my arse. Any decent players are marking time till they're off and the well looks dry for youngsters. The quick turnover obviously doesn't help, but how many of our current squad do you give a toss about? Or vice versa? Robinson and Lasley have both alluded to players who have a problem with their attitude and it's plain to see there's a malaise or discontent about the place right now. Someone knows who they are. Any new guy's first order of business should be getting them to fuck, even before he attempts clearing the purely substandard out. I'm no sure about Ross either.
  23. I cannae get excited at the thought of Tommy Wright taking over, but he's got what most of us would accept is a good league record for a provincial club and realised a cup final isn't just a good day out. God knows why he'd be interested in us.
