I really like that, I like the ravenscraig link but I agree the British steel discussion from earlier. But it is a nod to the area and our family members, who most of us all have, who have connections to working there.

i like sky blue as well (much nicer than “petrol”blue imo) and it sits nicely with claret and amber. I also agree even as an old fella, I’d buy that if it had “we fkn hate thatcher” on it (as the main sponsor)

Thought about getting mine with "Thatcher's Still Dead" on the back

While the squad undoubtedly requires strengthening it has to be said that there's good scope there for sell on. If the club (and players) play their cards right Stama, Sparrow, Slats and even Tawanda could potentially bring us in a decent return. Of course that'll depend on contract status.

  3. Not bad at all. Always reserve judgement until I've seen it up close but first impressions are I like it. The pin stripes remind me of the old away kit and Rab McKinnon running the line in it

Whatever blend of C&A the new kit turns out to be, it will undoubtedly be ruined by some tacky sponsors logo plastered all over it.

Start giving the fans an opportunity to buy a sponsor free version I'm sure it would be a big seller.

The only way to achieve this is to have a kit with no sponsor at all. Who's going to sponsor a kit when their company name isn't on the front? Where's the incentive for them? As much as I agree with you that a sponsor free kit would be great and would sell well I think the loss of sponsorship would be more costly to the club.

This is what I struggle to understand in our game. It is now heavily dominated by analysts and statisticians and yet despite this people will blindly ignore the facts in favour of opinion.

I don't know how McIness has been able to forge the reputation he has. His Kilmarnock spell was far from exceptional and Kettlewell has matched him if not bettered him in terms of actual performance and yet Kettlewell is perceived as the the pound shop McIness. I don't get it.

Longevity in the league. Nothing more.

Why would compensation be minimal he was our clubs manager, signed up on a permanent contract, just starting to rebuild the team for a new season. Motherwell FC invested a lot of time , effort and trust into this guy then he is more or less poached to another club.
Family problems fair enough but to have a job lined up as soon as he leaves , starting immediately , well that doesn’t happen overnight does it. Stinks a bit.

We now have to reorganise all our future plans , the direction the club was going with him and our signing targets  . Then start all over again to find a new manager when two of our direct league rivals are doing the same in the same market place.. He's left us in the shit  .

We should be getting quite a bit of compensation to cover all this I would think. But it is the real world and we are Motherwell after all . So we will probably come out of this looking like a caring ,compassionate and understanding club , which in the cold light of day the whole thing will have cost us a lot.

Because at the end of the day they'll have got him on a bargain. The guy wanted away so the clubs hands were tied. A price is agreed between the clubs undoubtedly in their favour because if it isn't Wimmer walks and we get fa.

Rather have doc than brown, rather have anyone than brown.

Rather have Doc Brown than either of them tbf. I'm gutted if this is true. Had high hopes for next season under Wimmer. Hopefully the club can pull something out the bag.

Just home from the game and for the first time in a long time i am absolutely disgusted by some of the fans today. The treatment, constant booing and down right shocking shouts about some of our players is shocking. You lot need to take a look at yourselves.

SOD got it all game from start to finish especially from the back row behind the goals. Shocking. He wasn't the only player having a stinker in the first half.

There's a boy sits down from me in the Hunter who gives O'Donnell pelters every game and last Wednesday was no different. You'd think O'Donnell had pumped his Mrs the abuse he dishes out. We should never be subjecting our own players to that kind of treatment regardless of their performance.

Just in case you didn’t see this

Beautiful wee dummy there from the referee and fair play to him for overturning what was a nailed on red card.

The second goal was indeed a thing of beauty, a great team goal with a great finish from Slatts. I also love how Armstrong celebrated his goals. Looked like it meant the world to him.

  10. Just watched the highlights and the post match interviews. Something has really irked Robinson to the point that he hates us 😄. This has nothing to do with alleged goading of an injured player. It's all about Robinson being butthurt at being accused of being a hammer thrower manager. What a wee troll.

  11. Game played out exactly as I predicted with St Mirren determined to kick every Motherwell player that dare touch the ball. Oh the irony that it's them who ended up with a player stretchered off. We weren't great today. Our first touch and passing was all over the place at times and they were too physical for us in the final third. Still think overall we were worthy of a point despite Robinson's comments to the contrary.

  12. As kack as the blue side of Glasgow evidently are. That's another phenomenal effort from the lads today. While it's still early days and we should all keep our feet on the ground we should also all enjoy the remarkable turnaround since MW's arrival. The players have been let loose with tactics and a strategy that they all understand and it's clear that each and every player knows their job on the pitch. Enjoy your weekend Well fans. I know I will. COYW SIWY

  13. He's old news now. It's sad how it ended but the club will be in a far better position for his reasons for leaving then Stuart Kettlewell will. How can he possibly take on another managerial role in football after the reasons he gave for chucking it? He's thrown himself under the bus in my opinion.
