We are long over due it but doesn't mean it will happen. We just need to get the club stable again. Get some decent money for Lennon Miller and get ourselves sorted out. If we come through the next 6 months there's no reason to think we can't put the shambolic last 2/3 years behind us.

I don't believe we're overdue a relegation. Yes we've looked vulnerable at times but ultimately we've prevailed and often finished the season strongly. I've seen enough of the league this season to believe we'll stay up. That said, if we don't get some regular investment from somewhere our future in the top division could well be under threat.

There's a bit of discussion/speculation further down about what we pay players. As much as I rate big Kev we really can't afford to break the bank for him. Obviously he wants his current wages matching and we can't do it

I'd rather we didn't break the bank for him. This is nothing but an example of an agent trying to create a bidding war. Let him go.

I'd rather we spent a bit of the budget on keeping Spittal.

Eliphas Shivute - to quote McLeish "Motherwell fans will never have seen a player like Eliphas before"............Boy was he right 😀

He will forever be synonymous with the luminous yellow (Pony?) Kit. What a player. Wonder where he is now.

I personally think it's shite that you get tagged with the just happy to watch a few videos and get a calendar signed comments. You think? I've been to two calendar signings in decades of watching Motherwell.

Ive bought season tickets when i can afford it. If I can't go to a game I make sure someone gets a use of my ticket. I actually more or less breathe claret and amber and I'm not unaware of the mess we are in. I just dont think shouting for the managers head every week is going to solve this.

I'm in much the same position as yourself and I'm careful not to let negative results affect my life away from the football. It's very easy to become too invested to the point that a defeat can ruin your whole week. If it gets to that point it's time to take a step back and find something else to do on a Saturday.

  5. Supporting Motherwell will always be an up and down experience and often more downs than up. It's very easy to get into a "yes we're doing ok but we'll fail next week" attitude. There are individuals in this forum unfortunately stuck in this rut and can't wait to see the team/manager fuck up so they can air their grievance. Tragic in truth.

  6. Gent was excellent today. Always an air of anticipation when he gets the burners on going forward. Just need a predatory forward to get on the end of his delivery to really get us off our seats.

I'm going to mention PJ Morrison for Alloa. Thought he looked really good in sticks.

  7. A tough watch but safely through. Thought Butcher should have been hooked at half time but he had a much more assured second half. Makes me wonder though why Mugabi is always the fall guy when often he's playing better than the rest. Two outstanding strikes from Spittal which also beggars the question of why his corners and often passing in general is so poor at times. Gent was excellent again, look forward to seeing what partnership he can forge with Montgomery once he settles in. We really need that kind of energy on the right. Miller slotted back in seamlessly. He really is a boy with the game at his feet. A Rolls Royce at the tender age of 17.

    I think we're fucked, I really do.

I hope you're wrong but it does seem like the stars are aligning this season when it comes to bad luck and injuries. That is a blow. Hopefully we can recruit and recruit well over the next two weeks.

  9. I get the frustration re the potential Halliday signing but we need to be realistic. We're not signing any regular starter in the January window. We simply don't have the funds to facilitate moves for regular, match fit players. Personally I think Halliday would be a decent addition. Providing we're not breaking the bank of course.

For me O'Donnell was our best defender yesterday and but for him Hibs could have had the game won in the first 30 minutes.

I agree. O'Donnell could be useful on the right side of a back 3 if required imo but what we definitely need is more pace going forward on the right. Gent as others have mentioned looks to have found his feet and should only improve with games on the left but while we continue to play either O'Donnell or Spittal on the right the team obviously lacks balance. Hopefully we'll see a decent pacey, right sided full back in on loan.

Edit: McGinn is by far the best defender/centre back at the club.
