SK said we'd be looking to bring in one or two in january, which isn't a surprise. Where would you see us adding someone?

My assumption is a defender and a midfielder based on our current situation. Ideally a midfielder with some mobility, and a defender that can do what Butcher did last season.

I don't think we have any loanees coming back, nor the option to break any of our loans (not that I'd want to).

Can't realistically see any outs when we're sticking three kids on the bench each week. Could we lose any of our guys that are in their last year?

I don't think we'll see any defenders unless we ship some out tbh. I'd expect a hard tackling box to box midfielder on loan and hopefully a right sided full back that the manager trusts to be effective going forward as well as back.

And bringing in Davies will ?

It's not a certainty. It never is but he's now an experienced manager with proven success in England. Probably with contacts that will allow us access to a better pool of loans and transfers. I get why people are still butthurt by his previous tenure but I honestly think he'd be a different proposition a second time round. Motherwell was his first gig and over 20 years ago.

There's got to be something wrong with someone who makes a suggestion like that. Can you point us to Davies' ability to build a team on a shoestring budget based on track record ? Do you have any recollection of what Davies did the last time he was here ?

As for him having 'unfinished business' here (can't remember who posted it). The only thing Davies didn't do was bust us completely, juts a minor 'administration event'.

I'm sure someone will come up with the dumb old cliche about how he'd 'kick thier arses and not stand for bad performances', maybe look back at how he left us. He didn't fuck off to a bigger job, waving to a cheering crowd on an open topped bus. He failed with a huge transfer budget and massive wage bill.

    Grow the fuck up.

I think we should sack Kettlewell and go for Brick Top from Snatch. He wouldn't stand for any nonsense from the players.

Bravo. How about suggesting a name then? Or is that beyond you and someone else's problem? Malky? Crags n Faddy? Always the same old "faces" in here happy to pounce on others for making a suggestion without sticking their neck out and offering anything productive.

not a chance in hell he come here,  of all the jobs heez been mentioned in he has only ever said he would be intrested in was rangurs     plus he thinks heez above small jobs hence his name  billt big bawz

Don't know so much. I've seen him at Fir Park more than once this season and he was at our cup tie in Paisley. Maybe he's just keeping in the loop as it were or perhaps thinks he's got unfinished business with us? Who knows. Either way he'd be my go to should it come to that.

  5. The goals were conceded today were comical. To restrict Celtic to virtually nothing on their own patch to that today was criminal. That however is only half the problem. From middle to front we have no clear plan on how to break teams down and get in behind. We're a long ball hit and hope team and it's eye bleedingly bad. We don't have bad forwards as goals scored shows, it's the lack of decent service that's the main issue. There's a real lack of imagination in midfield. I missed our third today but Dundee must be kicking themselves that they weren't out of sight by the end. We're relying far too heavily on other teams making mistakes without really creating anything by our own doing. If Kettlewell is still in the job come January he needs to get some width in the side. O'Donnell as much as he's a safe pair of the hands at the back he offers us nothing going forward. Can't cross, never beats the first man and doesn't have the pace to get to the byeline.

  6. I'll give it to Kelly as a pen save is as valuable as a goal at times. Thought he was back to his best today, looked a lot more assured in his area and made some good saves. Blaney was solid all day as well, he's one who has clearly worked his ass off and been patient to get in the side and he's determined to stay in it. Good result today.

A good 15 minutes there after a poor start. We should be ahead. Liam Kelly looks like he has realised that he needs to take more responsibility in the box, he's playing well.

I can see these cheap bookings hurting us in the second half. No way McLean gives those cards unless it's against the away team at that Tattiedome. Celtic have got all the refs on strings.

I've always credited McLean as being one of the better refs in our league but today he's been awful. Paton clearly fouled on the edge of our box and he gives handball against. Books Slattery for virtually nothing and then calls our foul further away from the Celtic box than the foul looked to be.

Spencer, Gent, with Butcher into holding midfield, Mugabi back into defence. Slattery and Spittal pushed fwd to support Mika if Obika is fit them play him and Mika as a pair and drop whatever midfielder is not performing, spittal, paton or slattery.

    Next

I would seriously doubt that Butcher has the pace or tenacity required to play that role anymore. Probably why he's now played at centre half these days.

How would you go about doing that, and who would you replace them with?

I've no clue why he starts O'Donnell. Slow as a week in the jail and ineffective going forward. His attempted deliveries from a wide position are nothing short of garbage. Why we don't start with Spencer on the right and Gent in the left is a mystery to me. Another one is Kelly. Another poor performance. We need a 6 foot plus goalie that's going to dominate his 6 yarder at the very least and that can instill some confidence in his back line.

Blaming the players and taking zero responsibility on Radio Scotland. Hopefully his final interview.

Even you know that's not true. I listened myself. Kettlewell can't be held 100% responsible when a defender is beat in the air and when his no 1 goalkeeper is a complete shitebag in his own 6 yard box. At no time did he avoid responsibly.

Hearts bossed us from the first kick to the last. Played simple but effective passes in what was a very good performance from them by their own fans admission on Radio Scotland.

And apparently Slattery is minging too yeah? Minging? He's had a great season but that's the way to do it! Slag all the decent players off.

What about Kelly! Highest paid player and stealing a wage. Does he get slated like SOD and Slats? Spittal? Of course he doesn't

Kelly's been under scrutiny for months. Both Slattery and Spittal started the season well but their form has gone off a cliff in the last 2 months. When that happens there should be replacements waiting to take their chance.

Certainly not anywhere near the worst player for us tonight

That may be true but he offers very little, especially going forward. We have the pace and dynamism of Spencer on one side and O'Donnell running through quicksand on the other coupled with the fact his passing is woeful.
