Aye the County defense are strolling this so far. Matching them elsewhere tbf.

Just going through the motions now and the season can't end quick enough. Getting recruitment right in the summer is now crucial. With the bulk of this squad intact we'll be fodder next season.
-
Other teams play football and we play ping pong, ball never under control or out the air. Absolute garbage. Ojalas done for good, Watts got Mugabi on toast and Shields is a headless chicken. Alexander better have a master plan because this won't do next season. Not at all.
-
The idea being Cornelius would play the defensive role of protecting the back 3 and with the best of intentions try and get O'Donnell and Carroll further up the park in order to create. This is the best course of action imo.

Win the midfield battle - win the game Kels Bev. Sol. Rikki Sod? Deano. Slatts. Jake Woolery. Tierney Shields

Same old story. Wee bit of promise coupled with the usual arse collapse. It's the hope that kills you indeed.

I can't make Saturday due to work but otherwise would have been there. Part of me is gutted that I'll be missing a home match and losing my 100% attendance but on the other hand I'm a bit relieved that I won't be putting myself through the ringer to the same degree as is the norm when they come to town.

Lamie. As bad as we've looked as a team he's never looked like a player leaving imminently. His goal today made me hit the roof. COYW

Canny wait for Martindale's interview, it'll be comedy gold.

Unreal. Thank fuck we're at least safe.

That's us firmly in the bottom 6.

That's a stonewaller. Lucky it's not 3. Effords nowhere near the standard anywhere on the park.
-
Shields seen plenty of the ball on the right wing but his end product is awful. Let's face it based on what we've seen since Christmas we ain't a top six team. 45 minutes to pull off a shocker.

KVV led the line brilliantly today. When he's on his game and hungry he is indeed a joy to watch. His first touch at times is almost Berbatov like. Slattery wins it for me though. Thought he was the positive driving force all afternoon and offered us the creativity we've lacked for weeks. Hope Alexander reads this and plays him next week.

Much better performance today particularly going forward. More purpose to our play and a clear intent on going forward at every opportunity. That said, the defence was all over the place in the first half. Thankfully much improved in the second.

Fair enough maybe I'm confusing creativity with a different approach i.e playing our players that I know can play with the ball at their feet. Wee Tierney for one has shown glimpses when he's had the chance that he wants to run at and commit defenders and was unlucky when he linked up with Van veen near the end today. On a different point I'd take that McMullan off Dundee if he's available should they go down always thought he was a cracking wee player.

Personally I'm no interested in how bad the league is or any of the other 11 teams for that matter. My concern is Motherwell and Motherwell only. Why should my team be shite just because everyone else is?

This group of players need either a kick up the arse, a boost in confidence or shipped out. Non of which are going to happen under this manager. Woolery , lambasted all season for being shite has now become the only spark we have. That shows in itself how far we've fallen. The game screaming out for an injection of creativity and he's too stubborn to acknowledge it until we're down to the last 20 minutes. I like Donnelly but he's a shadow of the player he was under Robinson, O'Donnell has gone into terminal decline and Effort just doesn't offer enough and is easily bullied. Scunnered with this team at present.

The passing is one thing and the inability to control a football is another but the lack of movement off the ball is chronic. Everything is reactive , nothing free-flowing and constantly relying on hit and hope. County were pish tonight, it just so happens we were more pish. We made their defenders look like world beaters with aimless long balls all night. Complete lack of invention and appetite all round. I'm starting to wonder how long we give the manager now.
-
If we show any degree of the intensity that we did on Saturday we should blow this mob away again. They look rock bottom on confidence and lack any idea of how to score. Brown just limped off for them as well.
-
Been a tough month for Donnelly but I thought he was excellent yesterday. We all know what he's capable of when paired with the right partner in the middle. That's a joke, did the bbc actually have anyone at our game?

Back to basics (though it won't happen) Kelly O'donnell Sol. Mugabi. Mcginley Woolery. Goss. Slatts. Roberts KVV. Efford Like I say, wishful thinking on my part

Bit of afters with watt and burrows there.
