  1. Hearts have improved from last season and will probably have 4 or 5 players signed this summer starting against us. They will be missing Berra though and Lafferty might be gone as well. It also means we have three away games in 8 days which always tough.
  2. Wayne Rooney's da will be quids in.
  3. Their subsequent careers proved they weren't good enough but I don't think they got that much abuse at games. Even if they did i'm sure they would prefer getting a bit of stick playing in the top tier versus reserve football and sitting in the stand.
  4. I've said this before but we have good service from boys from our youth system who weren't able to establish themselves at our level but made good and cheap contributions. Shaun Fagan, Marc Fitzpatrick, Ross Forbes, Darren Smith, Jonny Page, Willie Kinniburgh, ZFA, Adam Cummins and Stuart Carswell all have highlights with us that a fair chunk of our signings couldn't match. Add in that bringing through youth is good for the atmosphere at the club and means more money for quality starters and it should be mandatory for every manager.
  5. A midfielder who can shoot. That might be useful for a team who don't score many goals.
  6. If we have any ambitions of this season being anything other than dire we have to bring in a decent striker. And if we are to persist with wing backs we need a genuine left wing back. The squad size is already an embarrasment but if we don't add some quality the club is going to lose all the goodwill built up recently.
  7. It's very possible we won't score in any of our next three games. Livi are solid at the back, Rangers look to have made good signings in defence and Hearts don't concede many at home. Five games without a goal would have to result in the sack.
  8. 5% of the fee goes to development clubs when it's an international transfer.
  9. Most of the cup games involved us being gifted goals. Four howlers from Aberdeen. An OG and a goalie mistake from Hearts. A penalty and an OG from Accies. Two goalie mistakes from Hearts. We didn't deserve to lose any of those games but we were given huge luck in winning them. In pretty much any game where we aren't gifted the opening goal we struggle badly.
  10. Two cup finals tho..... Robinson has set his stall out. He has bet his job on Connor Sammon and Aaron Taylor Sinclair. Good luck!
  11. We started 10 guys who were here last season and Connor Sammon. I don't think bed in is an excuse.
  12. Taking Campbell off and leaving Rose on was a big mistake. Rose looked a like a player when he had no one against him.
  13. REM Everybody Hurts on the PA. Are we not trying to prevent suicide?
  14. There's no need for three centre backs and two defensive mids against this Accies team. Sammon is having a nightmare. Get Johnson for the second half.
  15. This is already a big game for us as if we fail to score again pressure begins building up on the manager. It will be telling to see whether he reverts to Tait and Cadden as wing backs.
  16. No one cares about losing cup finals. Especially when we didn't score a goal in either. The upside should have been improving the squad but we have stuffed it to bursting with scrubs.
  17. Looking forward to Pete and Tam vs Dougie and Darian on Saturday. Where's the match thread?
  18. I honestly think McCall must have had some medical reason for making so many crazy decisions from about summer 2013 onwards.
  19. The SFA could make it a condition of membership.
  20. I think that due to the level of corruption in football all transfer and agents fees should be made public by the SFA or equivalent.
  21. Cadden has barely played in the correct position for the past year. It's hard to push on as a midfielder when you are stuck doing donkey work on the touchline while the ball gets booted up and down the park.
  22. Celtic bid because Gordon got hurt right before the window shut. Similar to Goram going to Man Utd. We are obviously not the only club who consider resale value and that will put potential buyers off. How many clubs are in the market for a keeper in Trev's price range? How many want to buy a 30 year old? How many would buy a 30 year old with Carson's lack of high level football? The likelihood is we'll have a very good keeper for the next two years.
  23. How many clubs are looking to buy a goalie in Carson's realistic price range? Carson is a good keeper but at his age it's unlikely clubs will bid for him.
