  1. Is refusing a pay cut a lack of humility?
  2. He went down there for money. If he fails to break through he'll get a club up here again no problem.
  3. If you can call an atmosphere fake it's because what is happening in the stands is often unrelated to what's going on the park. The Ultra style is just to keep steady noise going for 90 mins regardless of what happening. Traditionally the fans reacted to the game in front of them.
  4. You being drunk is great, other people being drunk is a problem. We're Motherwell fans not Celtic or the Tartan Army, no need to pretend we're beloved world wide.
  5. Good interview with Van den Gaag in today's Sun where he rules himself out this time but makes clear there is no hard feelings about last December.
  6. The boy was making his first ever league start, had a poor first half but settled down in the second half and finished well in the last 15 when were under pressure. We don't have an obvious solution at right back and if Watt isn't ready it's one of Grimshaw, Law or Reid. We know for certain that two them are hopeless. Grimshaw might come onto a game.
  7. There was one season where he was interested and one season where he clearly wasn't fully committed. With hindsight we would have been much better off if he went to Hearts in summer 08. The guy has already fucked us about once as manager, bringing him back sends the wrong signal.
  8. We're not going to be signing players any time soon. Surely we'll be cutting back in January apart from a right back? What we need right now is someone to get the players we have playing and that means keeping the old guard happy. When our circumstances change we get another new manager if need be. Short term appointments have worked well for us in the past.
  9. £500,000 from those transfers went to the 'management team'. Who got what has never been revealed.
  10. I think he is only due to a cut to take the heat off the fact that Stephen Thompson takes a cut as well. The same reason Charles Green paid McCoist crazy wages. You can maybe make a case that a manager deserves a bonus for developing a player but GMS and Armstrong were good players before he got there.
  11. Ainsworth for 70. Kennedy for 90.
  12. That was only my third game this season so I'm possibly not as jaded as those that have seen more of this team but I enjoyed that. Team selection was better, effort was far better. What else can you ask from Craigan after two days? This is a pish league. If we get McDonald, Ainsworth, Johnson and Pearson on the park and focused we'll compete well.
  13. The stewarding companies and the Police have a financial interest in their being bother at the football so it's not a surprise they escalate things.
  14. McManus probably volunteered to do it rather than being forced. Keith had already done his bit.
  15. Cancel the protest and get some 'Welcome To Motherwell Thierry' banners made up.

6 or 7 years ago that would be true. Now with the decline of the top league up here and the trickle down from the EPL the Championship is miles ahead. Celtic are the only team in Scotland cut out the Championship.
  17. Shiels is mental, I used to love him being interviewed on Radio Scotland during car journeys to away games. He obviously has his attributes as a coach but he's not the man you want representing the club in public.

Based on the Courtois case I don't think you can make those kind of stipulations in international loans.
  19. The club never got me my converse back!
  20. Imagine the highly paid manager of the club being held to a higher standard than fans on a forum. The poor guy.

Even if that is a condition surely we just tell Reading to GTF? What recourse can they have?
  22. There's no chance Nigel Clough is coming up here to manage us. I liked the idea of Van der Gaag the last time because he had success in a top European league, would have had an idea of the limitations of the club and the Dutch have a good record of adapting to Scottish football. However he's at Eindhoven now so there's no chance of getting him. Until the club release a short list or we start getting info about who is being interviewed we're in needle in a haystack territory. Speculation is pointless.
  23. Where is everybody from that section going to sit first half?
  24. He'll probably get closer to him than Scott Brown managed the other week.
