Partick and United do both look weaker but they still seem to have better defences, more legs in the middle of the park and more capable managers than we have at the moment.
I've no idea. I only watch us and the champions league on TV.
St Mirren signed two guys with very similar track records last summer and both of them bombed out, having someone reliable along the lines of Sutton or McDonald would be better.
I've never seen the guys play.
I've looked at their records at their previous clubs and I don't believe they are certs to score at this level. Moult had a good season in the Conference but Marvin's goal scoring didn't continue when he made the step up. It's also the case that we're Moult's 11th club. Johnson scored 7 in 32 (two penalties) last season in League 2. 5 of his goals came against teams fighting relegation and he was outscored by his team mate Jake Hyde who was at Dundee and Dunfermline and is hopeless.
Either one or both of them might turn out to be good signings but they are both a gamble to an extent and expecting either of the two them to be the main goal scorer for the team is asking a lot.
Gateshead might well be better than the next stop for the other pair, got to wait and see on that front. Ramsden did look like he had forgotten how to play football in the playoff though.
McCall's signings are all finding their true level.
The likes of Partick, St Johnstone and Dundee were far better organised and more solid than us last season and I doubt that will change.
I think we'll be battling Killie to avoid the playoff.
Lawson and Richie Brittain are obviously moving to the Highland League to get starts in the oil industry with the guys who own their teams. Given Lawson's limitations and injury record I think he would have been struggling to get a decent deal even in the championship. A terrible signing by McCall.
I think McHugh can store goals in the championship. He isn't any worse than the likes of John Baird or Keatings.
I support a club not a player and when push comes to shove how many good games did he have for us over the two spells?
McFadden's problem in England is that he wasn't athletic enough.
Former winners of the Glasgow supporters club POTY include Karl Ready, John Davies, Brian Kerr, Stevie Woods and Shaun Mcskimming.
Exalted company for Big Mick.
We've already brought him back and he was murder.
He's been back up in Scotland for two and a half years and barely made an impact. Signing him again would be the height of stupidity.
Johnson was good but i wouldn't say he was outstanding other than in a few games against the weakest opposition. He looks like he will improve though and he is miles ahead of where Humphrey was when he joined.
Clarkson has a chronic knee injury. He will never be 100% again. He didn't start the season until 27th of September and he was done by Christmas.
I agree but striker is the most important position and we are currently going with a crock and two players making a massive step up. I think you need to a balance between dependable and potential. Right now it's difficult to point to anyone in our squad as dependable, Laing and Johnson are the best bets and they were both patchy.
My problem with Higdon was that he made no attempt to lose weight with us. Funnily enough when he went over to Holland he dropped a fair bit of weight almost immediately. Similar to Paterson and McGarry suddenly losing weight under McGhee. They were all taking the piss.
I'd say as rough guide it's not a bad way to do things. Most Scottish Premiership players are good enough to play at this level and not above. The same will be true of Conference and League Two players. If they are both gems it will be some result for the club but the odds are stacked against that outcome.
I got pelters when the last transfer window shut for saying going for Straker and Thomas was dodgy. Expecting guys from League Two and the Conference to make an immediate impact is risky.
He managed to make a mess of run in the league so I wouldn't anointing him a big game specialist yet.
If we avoid a relegation battle we'll be doing well.
Even if we get Moult we still need another striker.
Going with one guy with a chronic injury, two guys making a massive set up and a kid would be extremely risky. You need a forward with a reliable level of production from.
Given his fitness issues it's hopefully pay as you play and provisional third choice striker.
We will surely bring in another two forwards before the window closes so it's too early to judge our striking options.
