  1. Gannon was sacked because he was shouting and swearing at Dempster after the St Johnstone match at christmas and that was the final straw for Boyle. There was also the thing with Brighton where he was pushing his luck. He should have been gone well before that for team selections and a refusal to play Reynolds and Craigan together (who set a clean sheet record as soon as he left). The players were against him but it wasn't just the old heads. Young players and Gannon signings were slating him at Craigan's do in Daniels after the 3-3 game at Paisley. Barraclough and Gannon are both unsuited to football management and have proved it everywhere they have been. What they are good at is reeling people in with meaninglessness talk about playing styles, new ideas and young players.

IB said in his interview there are a couple of players who the games don't mean as much to them as the playoff games did. More than likely McDonald and Ainsworth. Probably the two most likely to throw punches.

Gannon more than likely has mental health issues and his time at Peterborough and Port Vale showed our players did well to last as long as they did. McCall's approach to his job changed around summer/autumn 2013 and he eventually admitted after he walked that he had given up and lost interest months before hand. There has been plenty of speculation about what caused the change but he showed at Rangers that he isn't capable of running a team properly at this stage in his life. Barraclough is a bullshiter who should have been no where near our club. Plenty of fans spotted that from his first interview, the players probably knew it the second he walked in the door. How can he talk about winning the league in his first press conference then expect the squad to take him seriously?

That's actually a decent point. Points per game and goal differential would give a better picture. On the general point of stats they are going to come massively into Football over the next few years and the big clubs are already doing it. Advanced stats completely changed Baseball and Basketball and there are a lot of statisticians in the USA trying to build models which can have the same effect on Football.
  5. Mark McGhee fully focussed and a point to prove in August 2007 was a totally different prospect from a year later when he had family commitments in Glasgow and was planning his next move. McGhee is as big a gamble as anyone.
  6. Is there any way to see what Boyle has been repaid over the past 24 months?
  7. Touched as i am by Mark's recommendation i'm holding out for the Man Citeh job when they get pumped out the Champions League before Christmas so i'll officially withdraw from the process. As I said in another thread there are many, many more men looking to manage football teams than there are ever going to be vacancies so the candidates will come to us. The hard part is picking the right man and avoiding the pitfall we fell into in with Barraclough of choosing the man who the board and chief executive feel most comfortable rather than the person most likely to sort out the dressing room and put a winning team on the park.

Win/loss doesn't give a clear picture due to top six, bottom six and only managing through one full round of league fixtures. He played 10 games against Partick, St Mirren and Killie but only 6 against Celtic, Aberdeen and United.

I see you where you are coming from with that but the counter argument is that the extra time on the training ground and a few matches which are basically shots to nothing are worth more than a couple of hidings which no one (and i can guarantee not even me) will blame the new man for. Every season the clock is ticking from day one, every game and training session has value. Waiting a few weeks or writing off games is the wrong way to go about things. You can never get that time back.

Since June the following contracts have been given out... Law, Ainsworth, Laing, Ripley, McDonald, Pearson, Grimshaw, Kennedy, Chalmers, Moult, Fletcher, Robinson, Taylor and Samson. 14 players and he can't put a team out to beat fucking Morton.

Can a mod get on this IP so we can figure out who's wife, son or which club employee is posting this shit? I'm sure it was West Yorkshire previously.

The only appointment i can ever remember having a problem with is the current diddy. As i said previously it's not down to me or anyone else on here to suggest replacements. There are roughly 120 full time manager jobs in the UK and a massive amount of ex pros and others who want those jobs. Every time we advertise we get 30-50 applications. The problem right now is there is no one at the club who can pick the right person. Hutchinson knows heehaw about football and seems like he's miles out of touch with a dressing room mentality. Burrows and McCafferty are both people i always enjoy talking to but I don't think they are suited for picking the type of guy who can walk into a dressing room and get 20 footballers to fall into line. This time we have to bring in some sort of consultant who can run the interview process.

If you can get a ground worth several million for a million or less then it's an attractive purchase for a certain type of person.

If Hutchinson sells to a buyer who isn't interested in the society there will be a half a dozen or so people who better never be seen at Fir Park again.
  15. Pearson and Hammell are out injured. Lasley is an unused sub tonight and has been playing on his own in midfield all season. McManus is a crock. Signing 14 players since June with very little quality is what has fucked us.

When he goes (tonight or the next fuck up). 1. We can't wait 6 weeks to appoint a new manager. 2. The people appointing the new manager should have some knowledge of the game. Burrows, McCafferty and Hutchinson choosing a manager last year was madness.
  17. It's a bit late. If we go out tonight it's another cup with as good as zero income and an embarrassing exit. It's not good enough on so many levels.
  18. How much money do we lose if we get beat tonight? He should have been gone after East Fife.
  19. It took McCall 3 and a half years, Brown didn't and neither did McGhee. IB has been a clear imposter since day one.
  20. I'm sitting in the house tonight and a new man in the dugout on Saturday does appeal.... However on balance guys travelling and paying good money deserve a result, the club needs cup income and a quarter final would brighten things up. It's only a matter of time until IB is gone anyway, might as well get through tonight.
  21. I'm guessing he knows he loses tonight and he's gone and wants to do it on his own terms.
  22. Samson is miles better than Dan. Any professional team that has to start Twardzik has serious problems. This is one problem solved.
  23. Looks good. I'd maybe start Ainsworth as well.
  24. Cummins came in, did a job, showed a bit of potential and then got shafted by injuries and ended up miles away from the standard required. Good luck to him
  25. I don't think Rodve played for us or was even signed. It says on the Vancouver Whitecaps website he was with us in 2002/03 but we were in admin then and had Woods and Dubourdeax. There was massive amounts of greeting every time we signed a player, never mind signing a Norwegian third choice goalie. Eddie Forrest would have had been in every paper in Scotland bumping his gums.
