  1. how did 28,000 celtic fans manage to stand for the 90? we were embarassing that day.
  2. goals conceded has a direct effect on results while goals score by one player doesn't. if a defence is keeping clean sheets or conceding one (which is par) then they are contributing to positive results. one guy scoring 1 in 3 or 4 isn't guaranteed to be doing that. higdon's scored in 10 matches and not scored in 20. you have to consider what he is contributing the 2/3s of the the time he's not scoring. for me he misses too many chances, gives away too many fouls, doesn't have much movement in the box and is poor in general play outside the box. in any game he's only as good as his team mates are playing, he's never going to add anything when we're not playing well or push us over the top in a game like the one at celtic park last week. looking back you wonder what mcdonald, porter, jutkiewicz or clarky would score in this team with this level of opposition or what the likes of o'connor, vernon, sandaza or daly would get. we've failed to score in 10 out 29 spl games this season. why is that?
  3. they have zero creativity in their team. they are gash. they've conceded 5 in 10 since reynolds came into the team including playing both sides of the old firm. teams with mark reynolds in defence don't lose many goals in the spl. defences he has played in have only conceded more than one goal 5 times in his last 30 scottish games.
  4. is it the managers that vote for it? if lennon doesn't get it the toys will be well and truly out the pram. he was greeting yesterday about not getting credit after another dull as dishwater performance. how many times have celtic turned on the style this season? they win by attrition.
  5. i was very impressed with what andrew wilson, jim mcmahon and derek weir had to say at the society meeting i attended. they definitely came across as the kind of people you'd want running the club. whatever happens stadium wise i'm sure it'll be some way down the road, the main thing just now is to get the society up and running so the decision will be in our own hands.
  6. i'd go for the team that beat hibs. law struggled in midfield in that game but dunfermline don't have a player like osbourne so this should be more suited to him. i don't see us scoring less than 3, their defence is brutal.
  7. there's loads of stuff dirt poor kids from thailand could be doing with before a trip to glasgow to watch a football game. raising money for them is admirable but they are pretty much planning to spunk it up the wall on passports, visas, flights and hotels for the sake of a photo opportunity to make celtic look good. going to thailand when i was 26 was a culture shock for me and i'd been to europe and america loads of times before. what are a load of thai kids from a shithole province going to make of a 12 hour journey, jet lag, strange food, shite weather and a foreign country?
  8. bringing a load of thai orphans to scotland to watch a football game is one of the worst ideas ever on so many levels. only celtic could dream this up.
  9. that would be good but i don't think that's how it works. looking at this year's tournaments fc vaslui of romania were in the non champions CL round 3 and dropped into the europa play off leg where they were unseeded.
  10. we defended well for 99% of the match and passed the ball wel. we were never going to score. hutchy was superb, the four midfielders worked their arses off and made life pretty easy for the back four and humphrey played well when he came on. clancy looks the part at some points but he has a horrible habit of fucking up. missing that header for their goal was criminal. celtic are the best team in the league but they aren't a good side for the money. they're solid at the back and good athletes but they don't scare you when they have the ball the way o'neill's teams did. individually they are extremely average.
  11. it would have been better mixed with cotton eye joe.
  12. if he keeps the good performances coming then i'll admit i was wrong. however one swallow doesn't make a summer and playing well last night doesn't change his performances earier on in the season. he's benefitting from us being less reliant on using him as an outball and teams playing deeper because of ojamaa's pace. fair play bumping this thread up just now but i could have bumped it up after his poor performances against morton, st mirren and united recently or after he missed an empty net again on saturday. let's come back to this when the good performances outweight the stinkers.
  13. because that's what they were saying at the office. when i signed up they said they had been asking for log ins (presumably from flow) for people signing up and that they would send them out as soon as possible.
  14. it will have to be page. i'd put craigan back in for saturday, clancy is a bombscare. he got very lucky against st johnstone and st mirren when their poor finishing saved him. two goals on him tonight.
  15. hutchy got booked after their third goal. clancy kicked it all off and randolph was probably the most aggresive but the ref seemed to pick big shuan out for convenience, it was easier to book him than run back to randy or give clancy a red.
  16. that's hutchy and clancy missing the same match. i think it will be the aberdeen spl game. if las or jenno get booked at parkhead they'll miss it as well.
  17. it's surely a piss take now? if the guy is serious he needs some kind of asbo.
  18. twitter said 100 tickets left last night. possibly only singles left?
  19. the only people with two tickets will be people who redeemed a voucher but haven't gave it to anyone. surely there won't be many in that camp?
  20. even if you have an unredeemed east or cooper stand voucher you can't get in there now. every seat is either a season ticket seat or has been allocated by the ticket office. unless people have been redeeming vouchers for tickets they don't intend to use the stands will be full.
  21. i'm sure i remember someone saying he's no better than fitzy not long ago
  22. i think they got rid of the points this season. all yellows are equal now.
  23. they could have been clever on saturday, got one booking and missed the game at parkhead. he'll probably end up getting booked at parkhead now and missing the aberdeen league game as well well. you can say he was unlucky with the second one but the first one was idiotic. hutchy, jenno and clancy are all one booking away from a suspension. clancy will be suspended by the end of the week guaranteed.
