  1. just got back in from daniels. russia - cska beat lokomotiv and dinamo drew with spartak. so that leaves cska on 72 and dinamo on 70 with 2 games to go but dinamo have the tiebreaker. ideally we want cska to drop points and dinamo to win both games to avoid russia. holland - psv and feyenoord both won. psv play the bottom team on sunday while feyenoord play heereven who need to win to guarantee a europa league place. hopefully feyenoord drop points and psv win to make holland an option. greece - paok cut panathanikos's lead to 2 points with 5 games to go. paok winning the mini league for the CL would suit us. belguim - brugges are 3 points ahead of genk and 4 ahead of gent. brugges have a tough run in though and play genk on the 10th of this month. brugges are the team i'd like to see us playing so hopefully they can pull it off. romania - rapid and vasui won which suits us. fifa.com had steaua playing tonight but the game doesn't appear to have taken place as it stands... bayern win - cska, braga, kiev, panathanikos, fenerbache chelsea win - kiev, panathanikos, fenerbache, brugges.

i can't think of any motherwell fans that would be interested in that..... aye right!
  3. lasley for me. he's led by example all season.
  4. we'll see if anyone is principled enough to miss a champions league qualifier at fir park
  5. our player of the season in his final two seasons, we would be mad not to take him back if possible. craig brown has ruled out signing him for aberdeen as he thinks he is too similar to vernon and fallon i also spotted that zander diamond has been freed by oldham. if we were to sign him then that would be me finished with scottish football as i couldn't support a club that employed this cretin but i might still occasionaly go to games when he is suspended or injured or it's europe or a cup final or a semi final or christmas or new year or sunny.
  6. obviously the big game for us tonight is at ibrox but there are a quite a few games that will have a bearing on potential champions league opponents. teams in bold are ones i want to win to increase the chance of a cheap euro trip. holland feyenoord vs hercales nec vs az psv vs ado den haag russia lokomotiv vs cska spartak vs dinamo kuban vs anzi greece panathanikos vs artomitos paok vs aek belgium anderlecht vs gent kv vs genk romania fcm vs vaslui steaua vs petrolul astra vs rapid dinamo vs Universitatea
  7. the first tie will be the 31st of july or the 1st of august with the 2nd leg the 7th or 8th. the second tie will be 21st, 22nd or 23rd and the 28th, 29th or 30th.
  8. i wasted an afternoon at work yesterday looking into it in a bit more detail. at the moment russia, portugal, ukraine, turkey, holland, greece, belgium and romania are all still possible for us. russia - there are 3 games to go and dinamo moscow are in 2nd with cska, spartak, lokomotiv and anzi all within 4 points. it would suit for dinamo or anzi to get the spot as they would both definitely be unseeded. spartak and cska are both guaranteed seeds if they get it. lokomotiv are borderline. portugal - braga look set to finish 3rd. they'll be seeded as would sporting or benfica should there be a shock. ukraine - looks like dinamo kiev unless shaktar bottle it. both seeds anyway. turkey - fenerbahce. probably seeds. holland - feyenoord are faves with 2 games to go although they have a difficult game against hevereern on the final day. feyenoord won't be seeded but if psv or az pip them they would be. greece - panathanikos have a 4 point head start in a champions league style mini group with aek, paok and some other mob we can't play. pana would be seeded. aek and paok could be but probably won't be. belgium - brugges look favourites and have a good chance of being seeds if they qualify which would be our ideal tie imo. racing genk are long shots for a seed if they get in. romania - there still five teams in it but steaua and cluj are the only two we would be slightly likely to draw. hopefully rapid or dinamo get 2nd as they can't be seeded and going to bucharest again would be a let down. if everything finished as it is today these would be the seeds. bayern win - braga, kiev, fenerbahce, panathanikos and brugges. chelsea win - kiev, fenerbache, panathanikos and brugges. obviously a lot can happen in the next couple of weeks but we are looking for psv or az to overtake feyenoord for a trip to holland, brugges to qualify so hopefully belguim is a possibility, panathanikos to fuck up which would greatly increase the chances of getting brugges and dinamo moscow to get the place in russia to rule out going there. my best case scenario would be: braga, kiev, fenerbahce, psv and brugges. a 60% chance of dodging eastern europe.
  9. stack, brown, mcpake, murray, osborne and o'connor will all be getting at least that imo. the 7 hibs directors get paid half a million a year by the club! 10 grand a week
  10. at the meeting i attended about the well society derek weir said our annual playing budget is currently £1.8m. that works out at £34,000 a week which suggests there a number of players earning £2,500 plus.
  11. i thought cska moscow had the russian place sown up but dinamo moscow are level on points with them but are in 2nd. it would be good for us if dinamo got the place as they would most likely be unseeded and that would mean a trip to russia would be off the table. just looking at it brugges could sneak in as a seed. i think that would be the team i'd most like us to get.

if he can find a league where he's playing against anderson or mccann level fullbacks every week he'll be a world beater.
  15. if i knew he was going to play murphy through the middle, instruct law to stick to the left wing and that steven anderson would be playing left back for them i would have heavily backed us. he set us up to win today. against kiliie, aberdeen, rangers, hibs and celtic he didn't.
  16. the word on the grapevine is murphy and higdon are starting up front with ojaama on the bench.
  17. people who watch us regularly vs people who don't
  18. the sfa would need to ok any newco so it should be all competitions under their authority.
  19. nevin and goodwin were both employed as chief executive.
  20. so goodwin shouldn't take any blame for RBS?
  21. because nevin was the guy with the purse strings. he signed the wasters.
  22. he got a cheer to start with. then he said he wanted killie to win and he got pelters
