the problems are 1. If the club spend all the society money during their loss makin seasons what will the society use to run the club when it takes over 2. When this was discussed on the society thread everyone including on the ball posters like andy p and weeyin thot the shares were gifted to the fans. How did we all get this so wrong?

paying 150,000 for 6% values a club that no one wants to buy and will never make anyone a profit at 2.5m. I was under the impression that boyle gifted his shares to the fans. It has now been confirmed that he gifted them to the current board and they intend to sell them gradually to the society to underwritw their running of the club. Where does this leave fan ownership? Most people thought that it was a case of raising 1.5m then taking control and using those funds as a safety net. Now it looks like it will cost over 1m to take control of the club which either means another million or so is still needed to provide the cash reserve or the society takes over without a pot to piss in which would be suicide. The society board seem to be doing whatever the board tells them. Giving away a 1/3 of the money raised for 6% is madness never mind accepting the boards valuation of the club without any negogiation.

i liked athens as well. as onthefringes says the area with all the bars and restaurants down near the acropolis was ideal and well priced for food and drink, the rooftop bar lots of well fans were in was superb. we found a decent beach as well with loungers, parasols and a bird bringing over cold beer. there were a few dodgy characters about but you get that in barcelona, paris and elsewhere it's part and parcel of a big city. the distance between the centre and the stadium isn't any different than from the centre of london to wembley.

in the spl with 12 teams and 38 league games 7 players hit 20 goals in all competitions. in the championship with 24 teams and 46 league games only 5 players managed to hit 20 goals iac. in league one and league two with the same set up only 3 players in each league hit 20 goals iac. that is clearly a bit of a difference.

what? my point is that the spl is now an easy league to score in. that is why billy mckay hasn't had an offer to get him out of tuetcherville. if mckay had scored 27 goals five years ago he would be looking at a life changing contract. clearly teams down south who can pay more than ICT (which is most of them) don't think that mckay is any better than the guys they have that are scoring 10-15 a season. this was the most productive year for strikers in the spl ever despite probably having the worst level of talent. i'm confident that anyone of a decent standard will hit the net regularly.

if we could get £300,000 and effectively turn 1 players into 3 players then i would take it. he has a lot of plus points but also a lot of rough edges and questions marks as to what kind of player he will end up as. i don't know who to replace him with but i'm not a football scout and don't watch much beyond motherwell and the midweek euro games. i do think it's telling though that billy mckay and niall mcginn signed new deals with ICT and aberdeen after having huge seasons, in previous years they would have had big offers from downs south. obviously english clubs don't think scoring in the spl is that big a deal so it shouldn't be too hard to get someone in who can put the ball in the net.

the badge is a story in itself and is part of the club's history. the guy who designed it for the competition did a great job and that it was created by a fan is part of it's appeal as well the three iconic images and the rest of the design.

as i understand it the society needs to have funds of £1.5m before the controlling interest is handed over. so if they have given over, for example, £100,000 in exchange for 6% that actually puts us further away from being able to take control of the club. it should be easy to clear this up and the board members should inform members if they are loaning the society's funds to the club on an interest free basis or if they are actually buying shares from the the club which would mean the goalposts have been shifted significantly. shares can be transferred for free as well as sold in the uk.

the club will be desperate to offload hutchy so i think we will be in the market for a centre half. we need everything apart from a left back and holding midfielder imo

hopefully that is the case but the quote andy posted makes it sound like the society has paid the club for the shares.

have to say i'd quite disapointed with this signing. not the type of player we need. i always thought of him as a big h*n thug at killie.
