santheman
Strange Morton is the preferred loan club considering the way Imrie sets his team up and is all about 100% effort and closing players down and that is what seems to be lacking in Stupas game. Might be the exact reason he's going there to learn the dark arts right enough.

So while I like what I've seen so far, I'd like to see a little more. To be honest i think it was more our fault than anything Goodwin did. We played him through the middle & he certainly appeared far more effective on the wing & cutting inside as he was doing v hearts

My only concern is that his main trick is cutting inside. On one hand, that was Jake Hastie's main trick too and teams found a way to prevent that after a few successful outings. On the other hand, Jamie Murphy made a successful career of coming inside from the wing. So I'm hoping he continues down the Murphy path.

coldonmac
Aston Oxborough has signed a new contract with the club. The new deal will see the goalkeeper remain at the club until the summer of 2027, with the club holding an option of a further year. The 26-year-old has impressed everyone between the sticks this season. Oxborough has been named in the Premiership team of the week twice, and was voted player of the month for September by the Motherwell supporters. “It’s great to get Aston signed on a longer contract,” manager Stuart Kettlewell added. “There’s been no doubt in my mind that I wanted him to stay at Fir Park beyond this season. His qualities have shone through in his performances this season. And I think everyone knows how patient he has had to be for his opportunity. “He is a huge part of the success we’ve had so far.” The Englishman has started 11 games this season and has firmly secured his spot as the number one keeper at the club, with a string of impressive saves and performances. “It’s been a bit of a whirlwind this season but I’m so happy to be signing on,” Aston Oxborough said. “I’ve tried to give my absolute all and I’m pleased with how it’s went so far. Signing this deal doesn’t mean I’ll be taking my foot off the gas. “We have huge games coming up and long-term, I want to be the number one keeper. So, it’s time to keep my head down and get back to work.”

weeyin
Just a reminder that the keeper everyone was delighted to punt in the summer had a great initial loan spell, won players' player of the year, and we couldn't get him back soon enough. I'm happy Ox has signed, but I'm under no illusions that somehow he'll be immune from a loss of form.

However if Ox keeps this form we have a great asset

Agreed, but the difference is, is that Ox is actually made of something stronger than a stale poppadom, unlike Kelly.

He will have bad games that's fine it happens what I see different about him is he is taking pressure off the defence by coming for crosses and in general just a lot more calm than Kelly looked. Just look far more settled in that area than we did last season.
Spit_It_Out
Brilliant piece of business for everyone and you never know keeps up his form week in week out then we might getting a tempting offer somewhere down the line. I do think having Gordon brought in this season aswell has had a good effect on the defence line. Wilson on the up,Miller balling all the time, Christ I never thought I would say this but even Halliday has had an up turn of form lol. We are ticking along just fine and hopefully more to come. robsterwood
Rather have our own Ox than dire pickford any day. Hope he stays in goal for England. They really are shite. Loosing to Iceland and now Greece. Lol

Just a reminder that a sizeable chunk of this board wanted the Ox to be given a chance last season while kelly threw goals in for fun. Sadly Kettlewell & @David had other views. Sarcasm aside, the guy has been very good so far & its great to see we are taking steps to keep him or protect him as a sellable asset

It's more the absolutism of fans I take issue with where someone is absolute garbage or brilliant, without much room for nuance such as quality of players around them, overall form of the team and the fluctuations in performance that every player suffers. I'd imagine any keeper would have struggled behind the joke of a defence we had last season.
