Well done to the two people elected - but only 15 per cent of well society members voted.

Aye, very low turnout - especially when you don't need to even leave the house to vote.

For all the members that complained about Tom Feely's approach to the takeover bid, he was only 15 votes away from re-election. That's how close a low turnout can make things.

From the update I just received the sum of the votes cast for each candidate totals a fair bit more than the 419 total votes cast? What am I missing here?

Each member could cast 1 or 2 votes.

Thanks. The 419 valid votes cast comment led me astray. 15% is a terrible turnout given that Membership details were recently updated. Disappointing.

Whilst it’s disappointing, the 15% turnout suggests that WS members care less for the mechanics of the society than they do for its ongoing existence and purpose of protecting the club from nefarious/decrepit individuals.

Certainly appears that way which is disappointing given the efforts the new Board have put in since Balmack was seen off. Maybe we need an annual farcical take over attempt to maintain interest.

I think that's true, but should have been more of an incentive to ensure Feely was not re-elected after trying to sell the WS down the river and eliminate that very protection.

He’s gone now and that alone should stand as a warning to the current and future members of the WS and Executive Boards.

The website wasn’t the easiest to navigate to vote iirc which may have had an impact on turnout. I gave up after about three attempts on my phone. Probably says more about me than the wider membership however.

That shouldn't be an issue. If a member has a problem then there's a problem end of. It needs to be checked out.

Think that's more testament to end of season apathy in general.

Disappointing nonetheless.
