My god we were poor yesterday, but given we were down to 10 men after 26 mins it’s really hard to judge the players on that.

I believe the club owe it to their supporters to make a stand this week on what when on with the officiating yesterday. Both red cards are ridiculous decisions.

Anyone who’s played football knows the 1st ones not a red, added to that how did the Killie player get away without even a yellow for the 2 handed push into Balmer chest?! Did the ref just completely forget that happened after he went to the screen?

The 2nd red is even more ridiculous, what the hell was the linesman doing/saying to the ref given he’s 2/3 yards away and looking right at it?! Thomson is actually pulled onto Armstrong. Then he goes to the screen and changes it from a red to a yellow. The only yellow that should have been given was to Armstrong for the initial foul and the shirt pull. Then we have the 4th official manhandling Thomson to try and get him away from the Killie sub/up the tunnel. Since when was it acceptable for officials to touch players?!

Some of us will have spent a small fortune (£27 is mental) travelling down to that game yesterday, which was completely ruined by an incompetent official. Total waste of all our time and money.

We’ve now had 3 red cards against Killie, one overturned by VAR, one overturned on appeal and one that should be overturned this week. Couldn’t make it up!

Agree. Officiating at so called top level in Scotland is crap. Var not making difference either apart from trying to re referee matches re 1st sending off. Looks like var actively looking to intervene just to prove it's worth and ends up getting it badly wrong. More money to pay these clowns. Some are absolute amateurs.

Your right good money wasted. Zero entertainment. I won't be back untill I see big improvement. I actually enjoyed watching my teenage son's club match mutch more and seen more skill there too.

Hard to fully judge today's performance because of the sending off. It was really harsh but Balmer does leave his foot in and it gives the ref the option to make the decision.

Killie huffed and puffed against 10 men so I don't think we can assume that we would have lost the game if it had been 11 v 11. The teams are so closely matched that a sending off tips the balance.

I don't think we will finish 11 th. We will pick up at least one win between now and the end of the season. I would be surprised if 41 points is not enough. No team has any consistency. St Mirren scored 5 last week and lost today.

I think Dundee are the best footballing side in the bottom 6. I thought they were very unlucky to lose at FP and they played some nice football in spells. I think they may go on a run after today's result.

The other teams are all poor and will trade results. It is sad to see the Wimmer revolution hit the buffers but it is proof for me that a new manager is rarely the solution to all problems. Rangers are proving the same at the moment.

It is crazy to think that a victory next weekend could still result in us finishing top 6. It has been yet another weird season.

Kilmarnock were piss poor but they were all over us when it was 11 v 11. We rarely got out our own half. Back pass boot long, rinse and repeat , that was all we did before and after the sending off. There is every chance they'd still have beaten us. We were absolutely abysmal before and after the sending off and using the sending off ass an excuse papers over an utterly shocking plays. Halliday at the first  goal was utterly laughable. Thinking he is a player pissing about on the edge of the box leading to the chaos that resulted in the goal.

Exactly, the sending off is way down the list of reasons why we lost that game yesterday, you could tell after 10 minutes exactly what kind of performance we were going to put in,even with 10 men there needs to be some kind of plan to get back into the game but yet even with a man less all we did was kick it away.we struggle everytime the opposition is a man down but yet don't have a clue when the shoe is on the other foot.im at the point now where I hate this current team and want the season done,it doesn't matter what 11 is on the park its same old same old, none of them take any responsibility, take the second goal yesterday as example as if the first wasn't bad enough,we let the cross ball come all the way to the back post and not one of our players even made an attempt to jump and challenge for it,then they all look about gormless at each other, the sooner the majority of them have all fucked off and doing that elsewhere the better.

Yip, sickening to see St.Johnstone get a result that we could only dream of and more importantly it pulls them closer to us.

Anyone who doesn’t think that relegation is a distinct possibility is dreaming.

Happy for Simo took alot of flack  but least they have a fight in them unlike us we have nothing in us just a media release how they have let down the fans.

Ox won't save us sadly.

we need a win next week to ease relegation fears , fuck all about the top 6. Is it better that Hearts win today and secure top 6 meaning they have fuck all to play for next week ?

Of course it is but we still have the 9 point gap over them. It's the play off place that's more likely to be an issue.

It’s unlikely that StJ will catch us but as I said they’ve just got a result that we absolutely would not have got. Had that been us playing Celtic at Fir Park today we would have lost by at least two goals. So they will gain some degree of confidence from that.

The playoffs for us are most likely. We will lose to Hearts next week and then it will be all down to how many points we can pick up in the last five games. On current form and with the team we have it’s hard to see us picking up many, if any points.

Unlikely but most certainly not off the table, we are an absolutely turgid watch and frankly I have zero confidence in the shower of wasters who represent us.

And yet, we went to Ibrox the other week and won; we are capable of beating teams at the top end of the league when things look grim.

I do agree that things don’t look great but they could absolutely be worse. It won’t be pretty between now and the end of the season but I think we’ll have enough to fall over the right side of the line

In my Heat of Hearts I think we will too but it just wouldn't surprise me if we completely collapse because basically our squad is piss poor. Dundee play Hibs away next week, Kilmarnock are away to Celtic and St Johnstone are away to Dundee Utd, St Mirren and RC play each other. If we can come out of next weekend relatively unscathed we may only need 3 /4 points to keep us out of 11th but as I said would it surprise me if we capitulate ? no it wouldnt..  I think it will be a season ending where we hope those in 11th and 12th run out of games to catch us.

We could of course make it easy for ourselves and get into the top 6 - alright it was just a joke.

The out of contract players, and especially loan players don't give a shit whether we are relegated they will end up back at their parents clubs to see out whatever time they have left on those contracts.

The players we retain and whoever we bring in will be left to sort out the mess the club is in over the summer .

This is true however I don’t think it’s the whole problem. According to the club website we have a first team squad of 34 players. Thats enough to make 3 teams and with our limited resources it is farcical.

We have 10 players on loan:

Mair
Balcombe
Kaleta
Andrews
Watt
Plange
Dickson
Armstrong
Tavares

Vale

All of them should be out of FP at the end of the season.

Now I know opinions will differ on the next bit (hard hat on) but I think we’ve got at least 13 players who are deadwood:

O’Donnell
Thompson
Balmer
Blaney
Seddon
Casey
Zadrakovski
Halliday
Paton
Callachan
Robinson
Nicholson
Ebiye

I’d be looking to get rid of most of these and if at all possible, all of them.

This is a situation that was created by the previous manager. A squad built on quantity, with the majority of the players mediocre at best, instead of quality.

Hopefully, we’ll manage to avoid the drop and the new manager will get a chance to rebuild a smaller squad with a bit more quality in it.

Might be a joke but it’s a chance - at time of writing which might not age well - needs Hearts to draw or lose today, get beat by us next week and StM to lose or draw next week also.
I’d give us a 5% chance of top 6.

if Hearts draw their superior goal difference will make it almost impossible for Motherwell or St Mirren to catch them. We'd need a swing of 19 goals to overhaul them if they get a draw today.

Edit

I stand corrected I'm looking at a live table. I thought they had 40 points before todays game. still immaterial we ain't getting top 6.

According to stats Balcombe made 8 saves yesterday, his highest of any game this season.   Maybe he didn’t save when mattered but does suggest that it’s the defence & midfield allowing the opportunities rather than the goalie position which is the bigger issue.

TBH I’d be happy if we didn’t spend the money appealing Balmer’s red.

Quite glad to see Simo (and his approach) pay dividends esp against that lot.  Will be more concerned if Killie get result next week.  We want a full on onslaught to destroy their goal difference 😆

He made the biggest mistake at the second goal. Did not matter what he saved previously. He is a liability at cross balls. St Mirren fans told us this when he signed. Also his saves were samson like, ie parried balls back into danger zones. He won't do. Everybody else seems to he get a chance to impress, so why cant the Ox get his chance?

Well it sort of does if he had let them in but I agree with your point.
I’m absolutely for Ox coming back if he’s fit, esp as he is our player, although he was prone to parrying a few back in danger areas himself.

Balcombe is shite and isn't our keeper. Ox should be in goals next weekend or I'll begin to question Wimmer's eyesight. I'd also like us to not bother appealing Balmer's red card as he too is shite.

Agree Ox started well made a mistake at a cross ball which costed us a goal and his confidence was shot after that.

Makes you wonder if our goalie coach is upto much. Said that before to.

Perhaps we need a re jig of coaches as well. Maybe time for Alexander, foster and co were replaced.
