I have a swipe card which I want to retain and use for next season. However the only options I can see are collection from Fir Park, post out, or get a digital version. Has anyone else come across this? Unless you are moving to a new pricing category, do you not just keep the same card you currently have?

Experienced the same problem last year and ended up renewing by phone. Was told the online options would be amended but they haven't. weeyin
If I put it on my phone, will I not need a 3000 mile cord between Fir Park and the socket on my wall at home?

FYI Dave, I was out and about in the region of Fir Park today so I went in to the ticket office and asked the question. I was assured that, having taken the digital option, my existing card will be updated, I will just have to wait till next season to find out if that does indeed happen. Visiting Fir Park isn't an option for me, and so I'll just give the ticket office a ring.

It was either digital or getting your card updated - because if you have both you technically have two season tickets. The club said to me last season it was either a physical or a digital ticket. Not both Ok. I will phone them.
Kmcalpin
Just renewed my season ticket by phone. An easy process. I asked the member of staff who dealt with me about the online options. She admitted they were confusing but that was the way it was set up and couldn't be changed. For those with a swipe card who wish to renew, the correct option is to "collect at Fir Park" or so I was told. That way the card is simply updated electronically. This really needs to be sorted out, as the process should be as easy as possible.
Kmcalpin
I eventually emailed the club about this query and here is its response. In fairness they replied quickly. "The issue with online is if we add access to their card as a delivery option, those who need new cards (changed seat, age ranges etc), won’t know they need to collect new cards. If we added it as an option online, it would give fans the false pretence they won’t need new cards, when they do. It is in the news story about season tickets: Do I need a new season card? – If your price class and seat details remain the same, you will use the same 24/25 season card. If your price class changes, for example Young Adult to an Adult ticket, or a change of seat, you will be issued with a new season card prior to the new season." I get the issue about those wishing to renew and change seats / age groups etc. but it still doesn't clarify what online option those who wish to renew and whose details remain the same, should select. Am I missing something?

Am I missing something?  That was precisely my point. I dont need a new cars. Im keeping the same seat, price, class etc. Just need the card updating with the new data, which is why I ticked digital. I went in on Wednesday night and the girl there confirmed that digital only refers to season tickets downloaded to your phone. You have no physical card. I dont fancy that option as I dont trust myself or my phone not to f#ck that up. I was then told to phone the club on Monday and they will be able to fix it. Im still none the wiser as to whether I need a new card or my old one gets updated. All very confusing but we will get their in the end. Its now confirmed that a digital ticket is one which gets downloaded to your phone and I don't want that for the same reasons as you (I believe others have the same concern). The site and the answer I was given still doesn't clarify what online option those whose details remain unchanged and wish to renew should select online. There is a problem here and it needs to be fixed. Season ticket renewal needs to be as simple and straightforward as possible.

Last year I didn't get a new card - they just updated my card when I bought my season ticket. But that option doesnt exist online. Thats the whole problem. I shouldnt have to phone or go to the ticket office to complete what is the most obvious choice for most people!

And in fact, I went into the office after renewing online and taking the digital option (I want my card updated) and was told that my card would be updated. The whole thing is as clear as mud and I suspect another visit to the office will be required.

It happened last year , it pretty seamless. My google wallet updated with my new season ticket and would expect it to be seamless again next year. However I do agree the wording about the digital option could be clearer.
