This is where I'm at. ย There's a difference of being frustrated v's downright abusive.ย

Appreciate not in the same ballpark but was chatting to my friend who supports York City - Salford team walked off the part following racial abuse last week and the match was abandoned. ย Someone has since been arrested.ย

The more the game has a hard line about behaviour the better behaved people are likely to become.
ย ย

I'd like to see the " hard cases" who were pushing and shoving the stewards lifted but if there's no police, it probably won't happenย

We can all be high and mighty about racial abuseย  but young folk trying to make a few bob don't deserve this, probably get a lot less hassle stewardiing at an oasis gig .

I did notice the boy with the knitted mask on, he must've been bloody roasting, his mates will reckon he's a character tho.

I'm having a good giggle at the last page or too.

What sort of "abuse" are we talking about here? I've just seen it mentioned in the same post as fucking racism. Wild.

Pyro, I don't get. It's illegal and they know the risks.ย

Moaning about the stand chucking the ball about is a bit "old man yells at cloud" type stuff.ย

Well Busta I don't know how many away games you go to but it's the same individuals doing the same stuff and I'm pretty sure the club know exactly who they are but seem quite happy to put up with it.

The ball in the crowd yesterday was just good natured fun and personally gave me a good laugh but appreciate others might have found it a bit crass.

More concerning is the clean up bill to remove all the graffiti and stickers the club will get next week, the fine for the pyro display and the apology letter to the security company for one of their young stewards getting punched in the face trying to put out the flare.

I really love the atmosphere the Bois bring to the game and I would hate to not have them there but they just need to reign it in a bit and realise some of their antics cost the club money.

ย

Anything that crosses the line should be criticised, and assault should be punished.ย

Let's hope they are doing the same thing next May with a beach ball, means we're off on a European tour.

Absolutely agree ๐Ÿ’ฏย

With regards to the steward getting punched in the face this should not be tolerated whatsoever when someone is trying to do a jobย

See one of them must be on here dishing out laughing emojis because we dare criticise them. Shows you their level of intelligence and entitlement.

To be fair I don't get laughing emojis often so any one received is a bonus ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

Can't say I heard any abuse directed at SOD from where I was sitting but I would be in favour of ejecting people if the abuse is overstepping the mark

There is a difference between giving stick and being disappointed with a performance, and being downright abusiveย

Who would make the decision as to what is over the top. A minimum wage steward employed by the club we are visiting ,a policeman, a fellow fan ?ย

Who is going to go into the crowd and do the chucking out ?

Are the ejected fans pals who donโ€™t agree with the decision to chuck him out going to stand by quietly and let it happen.

Finally with the reintroduction of beer and vodka into grounds imminent i think those in charge of security will have more to worry about than this.ย

Lets face it as being totally unrealistic, unworkable and a daft idea.

All very valid points of course , and don't disagree

I certainly would not want to be a steward getting paid peanuts confronting these people

The flip side of the coin though is if it allowed to happen we will see more and more incidents, as people will think it is completely acceptable behaviourย

I actually stopped going to away games last season because of all the shit happening and I didn't see anything yesterday that would make me want to change my mind. We have some right cretins in our support and I'm more and more starting to see why Bob Park gave up the ghost and walked.

Boab walked?

I never noticed any specifics that were posted, I was also more interested in the over the top abuse SOD got. As I was trying to think what was said that could be so horrific.

You must have been at opposite side of stand from me where we had the pleasure of an older guy calling him a useless c**t,ย  embarrassing.ย

I don't do away games because I can't be bothered with the antics of some elements and sadly yesterday just proved why I won't be going to another away game.ย  Maybe I am just getting old but it took away a lot of the enjoyment from yesterday.ย  ย No doubt though the media team will perceive it differently.ย  ย Again that's just my opinionย

COYW

I still had a view of those Well Bois and their ball til one steward got it to f*k ๐Ÿคฃ

That was all good natured of course , a laugh in the sun you could say. It did get me thinking why pay money to not watch the gameย

On another note , I walked in yesterday without one person checking my ticket ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ๐Ÿคฃ

I could have shown the boy anything. He just wanted to make it look like he was checking something on my phone.

Thats what I heard from a usually reliable scource although I think his SM posts said he was looking for pastures anew or a fresh challenge (something like that)ย so maybe there was something else going on behind the scenes, who knows.

I agree with you mostly. But - when you take a job on as a steward you are expected to deal with certain issues - particularly if you are badged.ย

If a fight breaks out you are expected to deal with it. That's made clear to you during training and when you take the job.ย

Stewards aren't on min wage any more with most companies. I was when I worked with securigroup but thankfully wages are better nowย

I saw someone being chucked out last season at Fir Park for abusing a Motherwell player and then wanting to fight other fans.ย

I completely get it - part of the reason I gave it up was because I was too near to getting my face smashed in - never at Fir Park - at Celtic Park and the Ethiad.ย

There are security supervisors who get paid more to deal with this stuff. I would personally say police need to step in in these kind of situations.ย

Thanks, at least you've walked the walk.

Genuine question,ย  are you meant to wade in if flares are let off? Because this could be near enough every week...if ever there was a day to not light one, it was yesterday .

ย

He wasn't the scource, I was standing next to him talking when I saw the drum incident with my own eyes as did a few others, but hey its ancient history and theres more interesting things to talk about.
