I've got this feeling, based on absolutely nothing at all, that the reason we're kinda stuck with the Miller transfer is that the offers aren't anything like what a lot of the fans think we're going to get. The time this is taking is around the club 'minimising the damage' with the fine detail of the transfer.

Basically, I think the club is in a difficult position here. Miller can go and sign for whoever he likes in less than a year and every club that's looking at him knows that. The alternatives the cub has are to take an offer that doesn't reach our valuation or let him go for circa Β£340K at the end of the season. Doesn't leave much negotiating room.

I'm not blaming the club here, because in the Bosman era, every player and every club knows the position and can 'wait it out' saving the buying club potentially millions and possibly putting millions into the pocket of the player.Β

As I said, not based on any knowledge or facts, just what's 'in my head'.

I said earlier on the Miller transfer that i hope the club is not getting greedy, any player is only worth whatever clubs are willing to pay?

Let's be honest Miller cost us next to nothing so any decent 7 figure offer and we are making a fantastic profit.

All the earlier talk of Β£10 million was fantasy, that said I'd be delighted to be proved wrong. For me if any club was offering say Β£3 million and Miller wanted to go I'd bite their hand off ( ugly sisters excepted)

The clubs interested in him know they can wait and get him for feck all next summer so I hope the new club board realises this.

Exactly 10 million,5 million is fantasy stuff, if he was thatΒ  wanted the transfer would have been done and dustedΒ

I take it that's euros.

The club will get a record fee,our midfield already looks strong without miller, there's nothing but positives for the club where this one is concerned.

Our midfield looks strong withoutΒ  a 5 to 10 million rated player already,God were so blessed, how quickly we've replaced him

These thing take time, and there's always a lot of moving parts in deals like this, it isn't Football Manager.Β

Standing our ground and getting what we're due isn't being greedy.Β There seems to be multiple clubs interested, which gives us leverage.

Jens online saying any lennon money will be spent in relation to long term goals and some of it on a player to fill the void. Β I wonder if this means that there might not be the money spent on two or three positions and it will be more restricted.

Β

am hoping v st Johnstone that we can get a bit of a confidence boost and get 3-0. Think that would set us up Β for the hearts game.

Pragmatism? It’s certainly media savvy and the sensible approach.

What’s to say the signings wished for are not long term goals as much as investing in club infrastructure?

Think we are well placed.

New training facilities were mentioned as by all accounts Dalziel park is not fit for purpose, the POD is long overdue an upgrade, and Mrs Baillies needs some cover added.

So I dont doubt the board has a long list of things the money could be used for, but I'm sure JBA will see a good percentage of it for player recruitment.Β

Yes. My greatest concern is lack of firepower. Whilst I do like our current brand of football, I also like to see us hit the net a few times. We do seem to be utterly toothless.Β Β

We have scored 7 goals in 6 competitive gamesΒ

Its 11 goals from 8 games, (4 LC and 2 League, 2 friendlies ) and conceded 5 so currently we are plus 6 GD.

The reality is though we should have scored a lot more goals based on the chances we've created so currently we are toothless up front, if you are not scoring goals you wont win many matches.

Looking forward to this one - will be my first trip to McDiarmid. Should be a good game with how Saints are playing just now, however they certainly won't be pushovers. Will be interesting to see how McGinn and SOD/Gordon/Blamer cope with big Ikpeazu and Sidibeh's pace. We should be able to create a few chances as well with Saints actually attacking us. Will go 2-1 or 1-2.

Just posted on club's FB page, I've only been the once.Β

Had to look it up, Oct 98 gubbed 5-0 Davies first game in charge I think.

Better be better Saturday, sure it will if 3 midfield start again.

I've only been to McDiarmid once, but went to Muirton a few times - that was a huge pitch.

Most vivid memory of Muirton was when we played there on a snowy day, and while we were attacking up one end, Hugh Sproat was having a snowball fight with our fans down the other end.

Folk probably still scarred after the 2 horrendous performances there last seasonΒ

Section A almost sold out, section B half sold, some of section D away as well, looks quite healthy and it’s only Tuesday?
