I suspect TJ and Just might not start, given their international travels. A draw tomorrow with us again playing good football would send many, probably most fans home very happy indeed. Not me though. I want to see a win. My thoughts too, we need to get a win on the board especially with a tough run of fixtures coming up. A draw today would have been okay had we managed to win either one of or both of our last two games - which we should have - but the longer we go without getting the first win the bigger the ‘monkey on the back’ becomes. Sadly though I don’t see us getting anything better than a draw.
Kmcalpin
Everyone has their own footballing philosophy. There's a complete range from "win is the end all and be all" to "I want to watch entertaining football end of". I was never a fan of Alexanderball or Kettleball but was content enough with it so long as we were picking up wins. I really like JBA's style of football, as its very entertaining and good to watch but I'm not yet fully convinced it will be successful in terms of results. I'm onboard with it but still have an element of scepticism. Hopefully he can convert good football into points and take me that extra mile. He's not long in the door; we have a swathe of new players settling in; and they are still adapting to his methods. So, its early days. The support seems to be largely on board with his methods, but will it be if we don't get the results it deserves? Some seem to have gone overboard in support of our new style and thats fine up to a point. Yes, its good to see our fans entertained and happy but we do need to start winning. Today will be a real test against a team which, theoretically, is on a par with ourselves. We should have beaten Sevco, Hearts and Kilmarnock and I don't want to add Dundee to that list. My hope today at Dens is that we add lethality up front and solidity at the back to our game. 1
grizzlyg
Hopefully today Stama can get amongst the goals and then go on a good run. Plenty incentive as world cup next year. Knowing us he will get a hat-trick but we will lose 4-3 due to Ward selling 3 goals. If Ward starts today which i think he will then this is last chance saloon

twistandshout1983
A draw today won't be disastrous at all but we really need that first league win A win today , and some other favourable results could put us in a very nice position

MJC
1 hour ago, grizzlyg said: Yup JBA is the boss but if he costs us more goals we cant keep persevering but anyway hopefully he has a good game The manager clearly sees something in Ward and obviously considers him his first choice. That’s fine, but he can’t keep on costing us goals and points. What I would say though in Ward’s defence is that he actually saved us a point at the death against Hearts with a fine stop from long range, something that has kind of been overlooked due to his errors in that game and more particularly against Kilmarnock. 1

If Ox goes back in goals and his errors cost us a few points then what? Yer not kidding, see the amount of errors that slattery made last season!!...........just teasing 🤣🤣

texanwellfan
The back four is probably what you’d expect our first choice to be for the season, I think. Hopefully Ward has a mistake free game. I’d say Slattery and Just would be considered starters but of course injuries and travel have affected that. So, missing two starters but Said is pretty decent plus we have TJ and Cook playing. Maybe this is the game for AP to kick off a good scoring run of games? We Look to be a much stronger team than we have in a few seasons, just need to get the monkey off our back and get 3 points. COYW!!!!!
