It's a game we should have taken more from, given our first half dominance, but when you go behind, clawing it back is a shite site better than a meek 1-0 defeat. I don't get why we're so shot and cross shy when we actually get into good positions around heir box. Looks like no one wants to be the one to take the chance on the risky ball or take the responsibility for having a pop.

Time saying we were by far the better team

In outfield play we were but very frustrating today because Aberdeen are pish. Our build up play is far too slow. We need to inject some pace into it. That said we do that the passing accuracy falls , so could be a double edged sword. I must be getting greedy in my old age. I remember the days I'd have been delighted with a point at Pittodrie. I could be convinced it was a point gained but could also be convinced it was two points dropped cos Aberdeen are utter shite. All said n done 4 defeats in 18 games is still well in the positive side for ANY Motherwell team.

See what happens when we up the pace and play with a bit more urgency?

Well in EJ

Correct , that's my biggest grip about today, the pace was so fuckin slow. However our accuracy figures for passing was 89%. With that kind of accuracy we restrict the oppositions chance to dominate us. As much as I think we do need to speed it up how far would our passing accuracy fall.  Could be a double edged sword.

They wouldn’t look at it since technically it is not a red card offense in itself.

But you said we were " doing nothing " , so that's not accurate. Didn't see 2nd half but we outfootballed them , if that's a word in first half.

Aberdeen have improved a lot since we last played them amd yet we still dominated the game and thrashed them one each.
thought we played decent and were pressing for a  winner. I think Hendry starts next game.

If that's them improved fuck me they must have been bad. I thought Aberdeen were absolute garbage today that's my frustration about the result. However we didn't lose and sets us up for the pain in the arse international break.

We can’t fix everything at once so just the fact of us having 65% of the ball is the best way for us to “defend”. I think we all agree we need to improve up front. If we can add the end result To our play then not many teams will beat us, even if we don’t improve defensive wise.

I think I’m going against the grain here but I really enjoyed that game today, I thought at periods during that game we were exceptional. The way we shifted the ball about is better than anyone else in the league. What we do miss though is that striker who we’d be confident of converting any half chance also a solid reliable goalie.

Hope we can use some cash quickly to get a couple of players in rather than having money in the bank and paying a chunk of it to the taxman

That’s a compliment to us. My comment was based on some of their more recent results but you’re right about today, we totally dominated them.

Oh I can't say I didn't enjoy it. There are just things we need to sharpen up. However that won't be a surprise to players or the manager.

Is it not just 3 defeats?

Aberdeen had a couple of short spells but all in all we kept our game Going for 90 mins which is good to see. We’ve had a few games where our game has dropped off second half or after 60 mins or after subs. Thought subs some well when they came on today but more importantly the team performance didnt drop.

Exactly,  if we start going harem scarem, we might lose possession more

Exactly we just lack that bit of urgency when and where it matters and that’s what kills us. With the equaliser today Slattery doesn’t mess about with the corner, it goes in and we get the goal. Bingo!

I thought both Said and Priestmen looked decent when they came on today. That's actually the first time I've seen Priestman where he didn't look like a little lost boy out of his depth. Looked for the ball and tried to carry it forward.

The issue with the way we play is we rely a lot on the Fbs decision making which for the last 2 games has been poor. Longelo wants to beat 3/4 players every time he has the ball and Koutrombis can't play through a press because of his body shape when he receives the ball. I don't particularly like SOD but his passing is far better than JK. Watt and Fadinger are both good at recycling the ball but there not playing penatrive passes through the lines often enough for me Slattery was in good pockets multiple times and they turned and played backwards. Ward the less said the better I wanted him dropped after the 1st game of the season and continues to be like a holigram in goal.
