It may well be that Alfred is well aware of where the problems lay on Sunday and is just protecting the player (a little too late imho).

If that is the case then I would expect to see something very different on Saturday.

If we do, lesson learned, we can move on.

If not and we get another insipid, passive performance with no press and no control of the football, then more questions will arise.

You cant win every game. But here is a way to lose football matches, and going down swinging, playing your way on the front foot is more palatable than what we saw on Sunday.

Just my opinion and certainly wouldn't expect folk to agree but seeing as Jens and our wonderful club were loved by the media, do you think some journos might have an agenda against AJ? we all know recent run not good but funny how john mcglynn not getting hard time despite Falkirk struggling and also buddies were honking at weekend yet no backlash against mcleish.

I could be totally wrong and personally AJ needs to address the issues and hopefully get a great victory on Saturday

Has there been a media backlash against us?

I dont buy newspapers, so no idea what they are saying.

Sportsound was always anti Jens due to him showing their old boys network up.

Halliday and Stewart were always pretty positive, Tom English a bit of a weather vane, the rest not so much.

What journos and pundits would you associate with setting an agenda? I’ve admittedly only heard from McGarry and Halliday and both were spot on imo.

I think the wider media were actually a little lazy with their narrative at the start of the season, getting a little carried away with a fortunate win against Hibs and a Said inspired win against Helsinki.

No one in particular pal , just a hunch and could be totally way off mark.  I am in the pro AJ camp and still have confidence in him, though yes results are crucial

I just don't know, but both Falkirk and St Mirren are media darlings so its maybe an unfair comparison?

I think there was a lot of resistance amongst the dinosaurs of our Scottish  football world, who resented an outsider showing that our SPL payers could actually  play attractive, attacking, pass-based  football beyond  traditional Scottish  kick-and-rush. It put them to shame basically, so they (e.g. Ian McCall) confected grievances like their pearl-clutching  reaction to Askou's comments on Handley or  MFC's 140 years of relative failure.

Not necessarily a huge  fan  of  M. Stewart but he played straight with us, as did Andy  Halliday, who was frozen out instantly by JBA but could see his methods worked and were quite visionary (for Scotland). Hats off to him.

Don't know what Alfred will achieve here frankly  but he's not JBA so  will have to model the team given his resources and in line with his own  beliefs. He needs until the window to see if he can improve our performances as he adjusts to our league, one which his predecessor couldn't wait to get away from, and for good reason. He's in a foreign country with a wife and young child so I think he needs some slack cut for him at the moment.

Like many MFC fans, I suspect, I'm dismayed but not but not reaching for the malt whisky cabinet yet.
