So its how the team performs on the day that matters, previous or current form or lack of count for nothing. We created a fair few really good chances today and took none of them thats why we lost, repeat the decent play that made those chances and convert them into goals and we may win on Wednesday night. Thst said we are hopeless up top just now so hopefully a solution can be found, so keep the faith people. Stats may be meaningless to you but football is based on it. Why do you think players they wear trackers to plot their effectiveness in areas of the park. That provides stats as to where they are effective. Why are players signed on the based on their stats. Just ask Tony Bloom. Its all about analytics, data and stats. You stick to blind faith.

joewarkfanclub Posted yesterday at 09:41 AM Report Share Posted yesterday at 09:41 AM Some amount of hyperbole and confirmation bias being applied here. Too many people behaving reactively and judging results rather than performances (I get that results matter and will get managers the sack). But, yesterday was a million miles away from the Aberdeen and Celtic games, where I was genuinely worried that things were unravelling at a rate of knots that might be difficult to stop. Im not saying things are perfect. Im not saying that things cant improve more (they will need to). But I did see enough yesterday to think that there were signs of improvement. I still think we need to be braver on the ball, but yesterday really wasnt the day to be doing that given our previous frailties. If there is unrest in the dressing room, I didnt see many signs of it yesterday. The players all worked hard for each other and put a shift in, even Maswanhise, who has been absolutely toothless going forward worked back to cover Sparrow. Yesterday was absolutely down to individual mistakes. Neither Longelo nor McGhee make any attempt to stop Braga getting a free header for the first, and SOD gives the ball straight to Miller for the second. Neither of those things happen and Hearts dont score. Alfred cant do anything about those incidents. Similarly with Thors chances second half. Considering we were without Fadinger & Lowry yesterday and Koutroumbis and Priestman have disappeared again, I thought yesterdays performance (outwith the errors) was decent enough so I will give the manager some credit there. He now needs to show that level of performance can be applied consistently and the errors eliminated so that the results will follow. If he does that, he will survive this. If he cant, then he will be gone before Xmas.

What part of our passing out from the back, which we did effectively last season, is anything other than slow, ponderous, predictable pish this season? The tactic isn’t the problem. The coaching is. There’s zero intensity, zero rotations, zero urgency. It’s rinse and repeat, followed by a shite long ball that effectively surrenders possession. That’s my objective analysis. I have eyes. We’re shite.

Our stats yesterday were better than the last time Hearts visited in every respect, other than goals, obviously. If you measure the stats from our first 10 league games this season against those from our final 10 under Jens, they almost mirror each other. During both runs, we took 8 points from a possible 30 and lost 18 goals. We've scored 1 less goal this time around. There's clearly more too it than just the numbers, but maybe this was coming, and we chose not to see it.

We never played st Mirren, Kilmarnock & Aberdeen in that run though & still felt like we were playing well during end of last season think the next 2 are fair to assess where he’s at, as mentioned performance was better yesterday but not convinced we ever looked like scoring no Norwegian football expert ( or some would say Scottish expert either ) but Rosenberg to me should be the Celtic / rangers or Norwegian football….yet he finished mid table last year maybe he needs time but Rosenberg would suggest he got gradually worse each season at a massively bigger club than us time will tell

The two Falkirk games, Dundee at Dens and Hibs at Fir Park were pretty poor performances, though, and there was a marked drop off from the middle third of the season, when we were flying in the league. There's a strong whiff of the morning after the night before around Fir Park just now (even the announcer sounds scunnered). Maybe this is the inevitable comedown, maybe Alfred and/or the new guys just don't have it. I'd prefer him to pull us out of this run, rather than having to look elsewhere again, but it surely has to happen in the next 3 games, if it's going to happen at all. Prestwickwell Posted yesterday at 02:46 PM Report Share Posted yesterday at 02:46 PM Again though Hibs & Falkirk were much better teams than they are this season ( Hibs have already acted on that ) we’d all prefer this manager to pull us out it ( contrary to what some think 😂 ) feels inevitable & hopefully we’re planning for January don’t think many people would look at us right now & say we’ll finish top 6 ( I know the leagues tight ) or have a good go at the Scottish cup

Obviously “shite/pish” is subjective. The lack of intensity, movement, rotations and urgency isn’t. That’s the objective analysis behind my opinion. But I guess we see things differently. Uv got nothing to back the manager on….nothing? it is a truce, I’ve got an opinion nothing more, nothing less….uv got a different opinion…..but nothing to back it up? To be fair, you've not really backed up your point, or answered the original question. All you done is turn it on the person who asked the question. All you've said is 'it's up to the decision makers' (which is an absolute cop-out) but have pushed another user to give a suitable answer. Well, one that's suitable to you. I know this is all about opinions, and how we're all free to voice them, but you could have given your opinion on who is a suitable replacement. 4

Who’s a suitable replacement 😂 when was the last time Motherwell employed a manager that was on anybody’s shortlist? & tbh it’s a much better approach that it’s not the usual suspects, sometimes it will work….sometimes it won’t u could pick any manager in world football & they wouldn’t lose 6 in a row with this team gave plenty reasons why I think he doesn’t work…..blindly defending a manager without giving any reason for optimism was what I questioned you must be pals….or maybe….. El Grew
Ideally we need to win our next 2 games although I’d settle for a win and a draw. Anything less than 4 points and I think it will be time to part company with the manager. Having said that, there are a few problems with that: 1. He’d be due compensation. 2. Who to replace him with. 3. A new manager may not be able to turn things round.

Yoshi-1991
I've already said it but again, the "who do we replace him with" is just a nowhere question. In all my time on this forum I don't recall a single time any of us have correctly predicted a managerial appointment. Do you honestly think because a bunch of fans on a forum don't know who to get that there just isnt anyone out there? If you honestly think that there is not a manager out there that could do better than the current one that would take a job at a financially stable top flight Scottish club then I really don't know what else to say. Its not our job to know this, its the clubs.

We only came into the game in the latter stages when they tired after having played in Turkey on Thursday and then the travelling back home and travelling away to Fir Park. We had a full week to prepare. They tired, slowed down and started to lose concentration which made us look better.
