Well that was much better than I was anticipating. First half we strolled it. Second half we were fine till we made that mistake amd Hibs got fired up after that. We were under the cosh as we tired drastically but what character to pull out a secomd goal that was superb football. Then hang in there with some grit and determination.
Well done Alfred amd the team.

Just tuned in for our brilliant winner.

Not sure about the long kick outs from the goalie, especially as we dont have anyone to win headers. Our composure in defence at times was also questionable. Early days so hopefully when the defence beds in and we improve. Need to stop crosses comming in better.

Mind you none of that matters if we continue to outscore the opponent with brilliant goals.

Great start.

Ibrahim Said was MOTM before he scored the winner. What a footballer.

If he can add some more goal scoring to his game he'll be worth more than Just.

Great 3 points considering the circumstances, and always nice to get the first league win under your belt. Takes a lot of pressure off the new manager and new players.

Was very frustrating to concede the pen from a slack pass after being 1-0 up and cruising.

Treamendous team goal for the winner. Think Olly Whyte ititially won the ball back.

Hibs may have had more speculative shots, but we had more of the possession and a higher XG.

RCC should have had us 2-0 up.

Some frustrating refereeing at times.

Why wasn't O'Hora booked when Maswanhise was brought down as he was breezing past him and would have been heading into the box. Definition of stopping a promising attack.

As first games of the season go that was utterly brilliant.

Not the greatest game or performance but we got it done and an excellent move and finish to clinch the win, which overall we deserved imo.

After playing on Thursday night I was worried that we would perhaps run out of steam today and at times it looked like we would in the 2nd half but we picked up and did on day one what we failed to do until the last weekend of September last season.

Great result and it buys the manager and squad time to settle further.

Fantastic to see Said on the score sheet. Hopefully it turns him into a goal machine.

I did not see the day. What was the style of play like? Similar to last year or very different?

Similar to last season, trying to maintain possession but a bit more willing to play longer ball now and again. I think we had a good balance between long balls and keeping possession. we should be looking forward to another season of being entertained by MFC.
our second goal Was superb.

We looked excellent in the first half and like others have mentioned RCC should have scored , at 2 - 0 game would have been over.

Hibs for 15 mins in that second half were in control and we looked to have lost the plot. Missing some steel in the Steelmen so to speak.

The winner was brilliant - a classic counter with 1 touch football.

We look and are far from the finished article, a few players getting up to speed, a few to recover from injury and a few more unknown to arrive. BUT all things considered plenty of reasons to be optimistic.

3 points in the bag for the first time in XX years after game 1.

Has Said finally grown up? I mean in terms of taking on more responsibility. He seems to be the main man in terms of creativity. Hopefully he has seen what Just has done and been rewarded with a move and has the focus to do similar this season.  Get a contract extension for him, as he is worth the money for entertaining.

That was a great win. Not near our fluid best, but there were some brilliant passages of play at times.

The defence did OK, but there were some nervy moments. We do allow teams to cross the ball into our box far too often and far too easily.

You could see that it was early season though, our press disappeared in the second half. Did we just run out of steam?

More movement is needed to link the middle to front, and a bit more pace required in the approach play in the final third.

As everyone knows, we need a goalscorer.

We will get better.
