stv
A fresh start ,no Willy starting 🤞 a big pitch with spaces to run into, the chance to revert to early season winning style and home a team that's playing shite. What could possibly go wrong .
wellfan
A win would be nice on their new grass pitch.
joewarkfanclub
Not really looking forward to this one given the form we have been in. But its a home game for me, so I will be going regardless. Thankfully Kilmarnock arent Celtic and McCann seems to be struggling to get any consistency out of his team, so should be a slightly more level playing field this week. Always nice to win these games as it means I get the bragging rights locally, but will be happy just to see some sort of structure and improvement around our performance. Saving grace is that Hibs play Falkirk, so even if we do lose heavily, we cant go bottom of the league as one of them will still be below us! MJC
Another defeat. Probably 2-0 again.
wellsince75
If there was ever a game we need to score first it’s this one . Im confident that killie will score - we need to find our way as a team and do what we’ve not done since the Utd game and find at least 2 goals

Your point about wanting to see an improved performance over a victory is pretty much what I said ahead of the Dundee defeat. And that gets to the heart of the issue here. Most of us aren’t complaining simply because of the results; we’re complaining because the performances have been awful and are getting progressively worse. Not expecting the team to reach Jens levels anytime soon, if at all this season. But Id like to see a shape, structure, patterns of play, any evidence really that we are trying to implement the clubs/managers philosophy. We really havent controlled games in the way we did last season, even in the games we have played well. Thats led to more pressure on our defence and in our box, so no surprise we have conceded some cheap goals. We either need to get back to the fundamentals that made us successful last year, or just not play out from the back quite as much, especially when teams have shown they are ready and equipped to deal with that. The little chipped ball into midfield or into wide areas seems to have been disgarded in favour of the long ball to Seb. Whether thats because Paulsen just isnt as good at it, or Alfred doesnt want him playing it, I dont know. But there are still opportunities to find space on the pitch that we are not utilizing right now.
FirParkCornerExile
When things are rolling against you things tend to get a lot worse before they get better. For that reason and the fact I'm not convinced about our recruitment I think we will lose again. There is an obsession right now about the manager and frankly we need to be asking questions of many of the players we spent £2million on. grizzlyg
My line-up i think would be with 2 positions i am not decided on PAULSEN SOD/JGR. JKL. MOORMANN. LONGELO HODGE. FADINGER LOWRY MASWANHISE/KANGA. SAID SEB P-H I was tempted to bench Fadinger as he has been a bit off form. I'm also not sure what script is with JT. only way he can get a move is if he performs on the pitch. That aint be happening for a while. Will take any victory, just as long as we can get 3pts

Though if you had predicted a 6-0 win for us , then as Willy Wonka once said "you are in a worllllllllllllllld of pure imagination '! 🤪🤪

wellsince75
Irrespective of starting 11 - which may depend on people coming back we need to play as a team . not expecting Barca levels . If we’re going to find form it needs we need to get back to being a cohesive unit . Start the way we did against Utd - that’s got the be the blue print. mission critical that we don’t regress any further .

I wouldn't disagree with you. However my goals are a tad more modest. I'd settle for the defence playing as a unit; and the midfield playing as a unit. We have a swathe of new players struggling to settle in and thats to be expected to some extent. However, I hope they play as though they buy into the new system and understand what is being asked of them.

star sail
I think there are two possibilities this weekend. If the team is pulling together and behind the manager I think we will win the game. I think we will have more to offer than Kilmarnock. If there is some disquiet in the camp I think it will be fairly obvious in the performance and it could well be the beginning of the end for AJ. A defeat with a poor performance would be difficult to recover from. Actually, I have thought of a third option. It could be a draw!!! I like to pin my colours to the mast!!!

Absolutely nothing that happens at the weekend will point to disquiet in the camp, what utter nonsense. What a defeat will point to is either 1. The manager go his tactics wrong or 2. The players might not be as good as some think or 3. Both of the above

Not sure what you're saying here. You need to expand your reasoning. Are you saying A) There is definitely no possibility of disquiet in the dressing room or B) If there is disquiet it won't be possible for fans to detect it? star sail
2 minutes ago, FirParkCornerExile said: Absolutely nothing that happens at the weekend will point to disquiet in the camp, what utter nonsense. If you have a team that was playing well a month ago and the performance drops off a cliff then players that are not motivated to play must be high up the list of possibilities. There were a few players that had there eye on a move in the summer and it did not work out . You don't need full scale mutiny for there to be disquiet. A lack of motivation or players that are simply not enjoying playing at the moment would fall into that category. Even just players that have lost confidence will lead to an unhappy dressing room. It is not by any means a certainty that this would be the case but to say utter nonsense is a bit extreme. There would have to be some reason for a performance that lacks energy, commitment purpose and in modern football an unhappy dressing room is always a possibility. Utter nonsense indeed. Huh!!!
