According to the way some folk go on, failing a medical is statutory for signing a contract

Heard on Saturday, from a good source we had signed a centre half, but he failed the medical.

They really dont. He was their MOTM yesterday, but most dont rate him, at Champions League Level at least. The CB equivalent of Greg Taylor in their eyes. That said, Id take Greg Taylor at Fir Park in a second, so its all relative.

BBC report is quiet ambiguous says he’s on his way out but doesn’t mention if it’s permanent.

Welsh will be decent with the ball at his feet which is potentially why we have gone for him. But my impression, and backed up by a Celtic supporting mate, is that he is a bit on the soft side physically and prone to injuries. In the absence of a better option, I guess he will need to do, but not one I will be getting delirious about. A left back is still required. So hopefully we have one more incoming.

On a serious note I don’t see it being 4-4, though you never know. A draw is the most likely result though, it’s the best we’ll get from this one IMO.

Scales is a special case , the plastics think hes the best central defender in the world , must be because hes Irish, thick cunts.

Jba and our recruitment look at database stats. Must show decent stats when playing.

I'd prefer a permanent move over a loan - not a fan of loans from clubs in the same division. I have no idea how good he is, but JBA is looking for a player that can fit into his system better than our current central defenders. You can argue whether that makes them a better player, or just a better fit.

Dont know much about him but plus point Welsh is 6ft 3 needing a wee bit of height at the back but i must admit still dont think its enough cover at the back. Hopefully we get a couple in and its been a good transfer window for us.

I take your point but if someone was to ask me about Nicholson or various others we've had at Fir Park my first instinctive answer would be 'injury prone'. Sometimes it's just that your instinctive answer is right. As in Louis Moult or Rolando Aarons. Sometimes not. As is pointed out in the case of Chris Porter as weeyin pointed out... Just worthwhile having a range of opinions. I'll confess I don't know if he can fill in at left back and with Wilson out on loan, I kind of assumed we'd sign a defender that could play left centre back and also cover Longelo at left back...

That's good to know. Just think Murray and Danda have always been good. Suppose we may cause them problems too. Maybe we can get a draw

An upgrade would be a stretch methinks even on Balmer. I’m against loaning from another in the same league generally, we’d lose the player for 3 possibly 4 games as it stands.

They have lost a lot of their better players from last season and Steven Pressley is their manager, he played a 5-4-1 formation on Sunday against Dundee unt and still shipped 2 goals, we will beat them.

I texted a mate of mine who has a season ticket at Parkhead when I saw us linked with him. His short response was "Sick note. Never seen him complete 90 minutes". Obviously an exaggeration but if his first thought is not about his ability but his injury track record, it does suggest it's an issue...
