Thing is, Hibs didn’t just decide he was worth £6m. They had a club in Serie A willing to actually pay it. Once that happens, we're negotiating in a different tier. That’s what drives the fee up. Similar to what happened with Lennon. With Maswanhise, as good as he’s been, we’re not quite in that position yet. The interest, from what I've seen, hasn’t reached that same level where multiple clubs from stronger leagues are pushing the price up. That could, and hopefully will, change, of course. You don’t get £5m because a player is “worth it” in theory. You get £5m because someone is willing to pay it, usually because they think they’re getting ahead of the curve. Profile matters as well, whether people like it or not. Bowie fits the classic mould clubs across Europe want. Big, physical, leads the line, can play as a focal point. That kind of striker is harder to find, so there’s a built-in premium there. Again, we might get a fee of around £5 million for Maswanhise, but it'll be market value that determines that, not us. Unless we're prepared to knock back anything below that and risk pissing off the player, his agent, and so on. A lot of moving parts, basically.

Aye Goofy is probably chairing it.

To where? Pluto? 🤣

The SFA have launched an independent review.
-
His league strike rate improved from 1 in 10 with us to 1 in 5 at St Mirren, but not exactly a goal machine.
-
Campbell been lost for quite some time, unfortunately. His form dropped off a cliff and he's struggled to regain it.
-
Wee Matthew's rosy cheeks always make it look like he's taking a beamer, as he should've with that decision. O'Hara was booked at 2-2. If St Mirren had won, we might've have heard more about it, but it'll be seen as inconsequential now. Does Rule 77 not cover officials making Scottish football a laughing stock?
-
Yip and the 4th official was standing 2 yards from it and did nothing Honest mistake incoming
-
Only good thing about Celtic winning for me is 5th is guaranteed Europe should they win it Much better to finish 4th of course and hopefully will do
-
And Celtic 6-2 up at Half Time in Extra Time and home and hosed. As much as I despise Celtic I’m happy with that. If St.Mirren had won today they would have been all but guaranteed to win the Scottish Cup and the mere thought of them doing a Cup double would have been utterly sickening. I genuinely think I would have chucked football altogether if that had happened but thankfully it won’t now.

They are and they probably will, and this is where i refer to my last post in response to any letter.
-
That mandron was pish with us,lol, but better than hendry by the looks of it
-
Alan Campbell looked completely lost today as well. Mandron equalises.
-
Mandron with a goal back at Hampden

Better be careful. You'll get yourself banned from all things SFA, including car parks. Next they'll be demanding the BBC cancels your TV licence so you can't comment on future cock ups by their Officials.

Last week, Matthew MacDermid awards a penalty when a player lying flat on his back in the penalty box, heading the ball, gets a boot to his napper from a defender legitimately attempting to make a clearance. Today, he awards a throw-in (and no yellow card) when a player deliberately catches a ball on the field of play. And we're supposed to believe this guy knows the laws of the game.

Not saying we will get £4-5m for Maswanhise, but we certainly wont get his true value if we go into any negotiations with a negative mindset. JT's form might have dropped off a little, but his numbers havent gone down. 22 goals for a guy who isnt an out and out striker is pretty impressive. Also, he has something a lot of other strikers dont have and thats pace. I fancy he will get 1 or 2 more goals before the end of the season, and I trust Brian Caldwell to get the best deal possible for us. Anyone who can get us £1.8m for Theo Bair knows how to negotiate.
-
Is it the boy Lissah that dives? The reason I ask, is that he was the one that went down when he was wrestling with Said to "earn" his penalty at Fir Park......
-
you are probably right but the club must surely be withing its rights to ask for an explanation why no action is taken.
-
Who says he was worth that in January? those figures were media guess work. Personally I think he is technically suspect but that is just my personal opinion. I just don't buy the hype. He's a good player but for me he's not a £4/5 million pound player. Sure he's scored goals so did KVV and Theo Bair. "We need to get proper value for our players".... of course we do but we will only get what someone is prepared to pay and for me I just don't see a £4/£5 million pound bid coming for him. The close season will tell who is right you or me.
-
They wont be sweating at all as they will do feck all, nothing to see here, move along now. And they wonder why they get critisism.
-
Why if he was worth that in January he's worth that now. Hibs probably didn't think they were getting 6m for Bowie. Aberdeen got 6M for Miovski and 4M for Ramsey. We can get 4-5M for Maswanhise. He's 23, plays for his National team, scored 17 in the league. We need to get proper value for our players.
-
we wont get £4/5 million for Maswanhise.
-
Nice guy .
-
Glad too see we're not over reacting to Maswanhise's dip in form. I did say I would have sold in January as that was where he was going to peak valuation wise.As I've already said if Hibs are getting 6m for Bowie who had scored 8 goals we have to at least get 4-5M for a guy who's on 17 league goals and 22 in all comps.
