  1. Past hour
  2. I’d take him back as a permanent move to see if we can improve him and sell him on in 2 years but a loan deal would be pointless unless Rangers are willing to give us some cash for our work.
  3. Today
  4. While I don't think Rice is a good option (particularly not on loan) I would never close the door on a good young player who made a poor choice. Especially if they made that choice as a 15 year old.
  5. Not long till transfer window closes and I’m really hoping we are in the process of getting a center back signed up that is better than anyone we have. Not a slight on the players we have but obviously if you’re trying to strengthen the team you want better than what you have. I’m ok with our two keepers, I think we have good numbers and decent back up for our midfield and forward positions but centre back position is where we need to strengthen. I think we will be hard to beat if we can find that player. Combine hard to beat with the football we are playing and it could be the most enjoyable season for a long long time. Added to that is the excitement of the fans. Already more people coming to the games with positive encouragement for the players and creating a much more vibrant atmosphere. Even people talking of bringing their friends to watch us and people who have been scunnered over the years talking of coming back to Fir Park. It’s quite a while since there has been such an optimistic feel like this around Fir Park and getting a strong imposing footballing centre half will help immensely to keep that going. C’mon Motherwell, one more Rabbit out of the hat!!
  6. Excellent post and pretty much summarises the last 12 months . Ive got to be honest I personally didn't think we would have made the strides we have in such a relatively short period of time . Although this topic is addressed at the Chairman I'm also delighted with the efforts of the CEO who seems to go about his work in a pragmatic and dilligent manner working it seems tirelessly behind the scenes . And of course the fellow directors and WS who seems to be sailing in the same direction . What a refreshing change
  7. What a cracking night that was! Probably the last really enjoyable game under Kettlewell.
  8. A year on from the big board room coup, I think a lot of things have become evident. 1. Getting "real control" of the club was paramount to everything that has happened in the last year! 2. We now have a young, innovative chairman in place and a much younger board with fresh modern ideas. We also have a CEO who is aligned to these principles. 3. Many fans talked about the need for investement, and that may still come. But the chairman talked about some "easy wins" whereby we could actually grow the club and make it more attractive to investors. 4. Getting in a young modern manager who wants to play attractive attacking football has already seen attendances rise. If that continues to improve, so will stadium revenue. 5. Signing policy is much more forward thinking. Younger, fitter players who are able to play an expansive game and tied down on contracts that give them a residual value. This should see us grow our transfer revenue as players move on to bigger and better things. This in itself will make us more attractive for future signings as they will see us as a good club to facilitate their development. 6. Improvements to communication and in other areas of the club and around the stadium give the impression of a club that knows its identity and is constantly looking to improve. This and the continuing emphasis on community work will make us more attractive to sponsors and in theory should also allow us to grow that revenue stream as well. There is still a lot of room for improvement, and some mistakes have been made along the way. But I dont think Ive been this excited and genuinely delighted to be a Motherwell fan in a very long time. Erik Barmack anyone?
  9. Yesterday
  10. Because Motherwell were generally equally as shite. I think Motherwell have taken a big step forward under JBA and I think they will have enough on Saturday but it will not be easy because Kettlewell was not nearly as shite as he was made out to be and Kilmarnock will be motivated and well organised. Loses to shite teams with shite managers is not just simply down to the whims of chance.
  11. Many shite players have scored against us to help us lose to many shite teams led by many shite managers...
  12. There seemed to be a consensus on here in the end that Kettlewell was an imposter as a manager. If the people that were confident in that opinion have the courage of their convictions they will feel very confident about this coming weekend.
  13. Jack Leitch scored against our reserves this evening.
  14. I think the last time I was at Tynecastle we went 1 - 0 up and saw it out. Willie Irvine was the scorer!
  15. I see JBA has a 19yr old son who is a centre half for Odense. Julius BA hes been capped for Denmark u19s a centre half…… he’s a centre half 🙏 🤣
  16. True, however I was at Tynecastle the last time we went 3-0 up and saw it out... Long long time ago though.
  17. I have no idea what state they are in now, but weren't they docked points and put into administration recently? Of course there is a chance to be picked up by EPL clubs - just surprised a struggling Championship team was his best option.
  18. And that's what it's all about...if we can turn the Miller money into more money through trading, then it's all good
  19. My feelings too. I bear (?) the lad no ill will. He left us for a substanital hike in wages to join his and his father's favourite team. I totally get that. Actions have consequences however, and his football development has suffered. You're paid your money and you takes your choice. Good luck to him.
  20. Two surprises in one day. I suspect a 3-0 lead at Tynecastle was the first surprise...
  21. Do well and the PL beckons pretty soon. And still so young. Might turn out to be a clever move as he should be a starter at Derby which may well not have been the case if he had opted for the likes of Italy. Champions League wise I guess he will not miss being humped every game. Whatever happens he should be sorted financially for life. Good luck to him. The other thing is we don't really know who wanted him enough to meet SG price. So maybe not the options we all think.
  22. Didn't take him long to get bored with league titles and Champions League football.
  23. Max Johnson is on his way to Derby according to Sky sports for £3.5 million allegedly. https://www.skysports.com/football/live-blog/11095/13163353/efl-transfer-news-rumours-and-gossip-for-championship-league-one-and-league-two?postid=10074891#liveblog-body
  24. My view is that he could have stayed at Motherwell and didn't. I do get that he was likely offered more wages to go but I can't see this happening
  25. Yep. The club appear to have invested wisely. The unfortunate side is that these players probably won't hang around for long but at least we should see some decent money coming in.
  26. Bailey Rice transfer wont benefit us one bit if he and his agent had any sense go Ayr or Partick type team to a get game time week in week out if he is good enough. We need some defence signings now or its really going to be Kevin Keegan football for the rest of the season which wouldnt be a bad thing least we shall be entertained. Not going to lie but this is turning into the one of the best transfer windows for a good number of years.Longelo keeps this up and we are already looking at a seven figure digit value love watching him play .Longelo and Just ooze class.
