  1. Past hour
  2. I am so hoping we make it to playoff round. At the very least you have a home tie for the first leg with the excitement and anticipation leading up to it. also, the bundesliga doesn’t start till Aug 28th so perhaps we can catch them cold as we will have had good few games under our belt.
  3. Today
  4. One of lads I know is over there and bern uploading photos, looks great. Sooooooo jealous and hope they are rewarded with a famous victory COYW
  5. Oh No, my AI prediction system, The Match Judge Computer, or MJC for short) has actually predicted a win for us over two legs with Thursday being 1-1 and the return leg seeing us win 2-0. I should point out it hasn't been right yet. Predicted a 1-1 draw against HB away and a 2-1 loss to Hibs. Like with the forum MJC, I prefer to see predicted defeats 🙂
  6. Ross has started 2 games as far as AI suggests. So many other appearances from the bench. It cant be easy for the young lad to be used to plug gaps, ie played everywhere bar goals. He needs to play regular football in his position, what is his position?before any real judgement can be made. We need to be patient with youngsters and let them develop.
  7. I think Elgin might unfortunately be his level. It’s a sort of Barry Maguire situation. Maguire seemed to also be a great lad and hard worker who hung about for longer than he probably should. Both of them can play but both aren’t at that premier league standard in my view. Love to be proved wrong but that’s nearly 2 years I’ve watched him now.
  8. I really want Luca Ross to be a success. He was really good against Elgin in the League Cup, but that was 2 years ago. He hasnt shown much in his cameos since. Whereas Mikey Booth has shown up pretty well in 2 competitive appearances so far. Luca may well have benefitted from a longer loan spell.
  9. I get the impression with Ross that he’s a really hard worker and a really good kid to work with. This might be the reason he’s still around the first team and has been tried in about 4 or 5 different positions (none in my view where he has shone) from what I’ve seen in Olly Whyte so far, he’s a better option than Ross. Whyte has played in defence and midfield so far and looks to me a more rounded player. I can’t help but think if we punted Ross out on loan 2 years ago he’d have either came back a better player ….. or would now be plying his trade at Albion Rovers.
  10. The overwhelming majority of celtic fans make you want to puke.
  11. I'm sure the have ex celt Puke in their ranks
  12. Yesterday
  13. Yup, if we progress then the Aberdeen game on 22nd wont take place as we have requested it off
  14. I think if he was going to show any progress we would have seen it by now.
  15. I thought the game were set to postpone was the one in the middle of the Freiburg games? Only to apply if we made it to the final play off round.
  16. Unfortunately I agree re Luca, would be great to produce another good young un but I just haven't seen anything from the boy....hope im wrong.
  17. Yes, can't stop watching it. Seems telepathic but it's down to great coaching and training.
  18. Its now being played on Sunday.
  19. Have we elected to postpone the Falkirk game due to the European games? think I read we can do that but can’t find it now
  20. Are all our players (fit to play) available for the HJK game? If We get thru it would be good to have another couple able bodied players available for the play off round.
  21. Shiver me timbers!!! I think Williams already in short space of time looks a great find. Mistake for goal ( imagine if Wilson had made that error, would have been slated), but he didnt let it affect him, brilliant pass for goal, as was Lowry's
  22. Yup i think vogt will do just fine. Jeez folk had him written off after 30 mins in friendly. What i loved about him was his celebrating for Said's goal, also Jake GR who made a point of highlighting Whyte's contribution. Shows you how quickly these lads integrate with the squad.
  23. What kind of research? The bit of land is everyone is looking at up at Ravenscraig has sat empty for close to 30 years now. There has to be a possibility that the reason nothing has ever been built on it is because the land is contaminated. Have you researched that? It's impossible to for anyone to accurately estimate price because the cost of materials and equipment is massively variable due to global instability and inflation. No one in 2019 could have predicted the cost of anything in 2027. Delivering a new main stand will be a very challenging project for the club. Delivering a stadium on a brownfield site requiring utilities, access roads, civil engineering and landscaping is far more complex. The club's non football operations are very simple we sell tickets, take our collectively agreed SPFL money and run a very small commercial operation. A single project that costs multiple times our turnover with no ceiling on cost and is beyond the expertise of anyone employed or involved with the club is an incredible amount of risk to take on. It's the future of our club, not an episode of Grand Designs.
  24. I'm confident the club have the competence to agree a lease with DHSWMT that protects our interests. Other people might disagree but if we can't make Dalziel Park work for us it's hard to imagine that we would have the competence to acquire land and build a new training ground from scratch.
  25. Having watched the goal (again today 😀) it’s very impressive the effort that went into the goal. Three newbies involved, but that was some supporting run from Williams, especially being at 85 mins. He was in defensive covering position when Whyte won the ball and did you see who was up close to Said when scored? Cap’n Tom Sparrow. ( ok! How many of you done the Pirate voice in your head when you read that? ) 😂
  26. Although we don't know the terms of any agreement or lease with the Memorial Trust, there are various legal and financial risks. Its quite possible, that at the expiry of any agreement, that ownership of the buildings would revert to the Trust. Could we acquire a mortgage or loan to finance the building assuming we don't pay for it outright? Could the Trust at any point require the demolition, at the club's cost? Are we paying ongoing ground rent or lease fees? Do we require the permission of the Trust for any future phases of the development? Who comes good for the maintenance of the surrounding infrastructure eg access roads? A lot of the devil could be in the detail, to which we will never have access. Now the Trust seems an honourable organisation and I'm sure that it is. However what if ownership changes at some point during the lease? Would the next landowner be so understanding and co-operative? Now many of these concerns may be totally unfounded, I just don't know. However the above potential concerns can be summarised as having no control, over the land on which the facility is to be built. Thats my concern.
  27. I’m hoping we well and truly scud them but I’ll be happy with even the narrowest of wins. I’m really hoping we can kill the game early and give the likes of Oscar and Faddy a bit of a break.
  28. Starts at noon for me, so I'll need to book a long lunch.
