Good update from the CEO. I get the feeling he’s caught between a rock and a hard place on some issues, but nobody can question his commitment to the club or his generally successful track record so far.

Good to see some communication at last. I get that its a bit late, but appreciate that with the match schedule, sometimes these sit down interviews can be difficult to fit in. The only disappointing thing is that, despite acknowledging the POD refit is far from ideal, there was no mention of plans to sit down with season ticket holders to try and mitigate the problems. That should be a priority.

Update from Brian Caldwell. Regarding the seat damage in the South Stand, we are at the point where we should be looking to reduce Celtic's allocation. Yes, they may offer to pay for damage, but there has been unacceptable behaviour and wanton vandalism spanning over a decade. This inconveniences the club, opens them up to litigation and impacts the away supports of other teams. The conduct of the fans on the final home game last season was hideous- Not just in the South Stand. In the main stand there was a Celtic-supporting professional coach, acting like an animal. Even worse he thought it was a good look to post it on his TikTok account.

I pretty much agree with all of that, except, due to being a pedant, I have to point out that we are 4 points better off at the moment rather than 3 compared to last season.

Happy enough with the squad we have. Slight concern that we're an injury to Paulsen or Connelly away from a very inexperienced goalkeeper as backup. Last season we had Oxborough available to recall. I imagine we have a list of free agent goalkeepers in a drawer somewhere...

Yea i would agree. First half longello had more involvement than any game this season. Then he did look done later & seemed content to recieve the ball, slow it down & pass it across.

Unless some Turkish or Saudi mob want to pay money for one of ours, we should be good. Jamaica's window is still open as well, probably the best hope we have of a bid for JT Hopefully, the fact there doesn't appear to have been an offer for him, bucks his ideas up and we get to see the JT we knew and loved before the African Cup

Longello was not receiving many passes second half because he was knackered and didn't want them. Saw plenty of the ball in the first half tho.

Indirectly related to last night's game. I was driving up to Flemington behind a small hatchback with the registration WEIIFAN Thats class.

I know I'm late to the party, but I'll try to offer some different comments on last night's win. I agree with many comments that we were a great watch, and notched up a fine win, so won't repeat them. Its great to see so many of the new lads score their first goals for the club. That will help them settle. For me, Hodge and especially Lowrie were the pick of the bunch. We're also scoring some really nice goals. Compared to Jensball, I think AJ is encouraging the players to shoot more and its exciting to see the ball hit the net with these efforts. It was a forgone conclusion that United would appeal the Agyei red card. However, Lee Sharp's comment post match were revealing - basically he never saw it (despite sitting/standing only a few metres away). Usually in these circumstances, a manager says something like "The lads said it wasn't a bad tackle" or words to that effect. To compound matters, Agyei then booted the ball at the POD in anger. No doubt he'll be hauled over the coals for that - remember Terry Butcher being sanctioned for kicking a water bottle at Livingston? As for us another clean sheet! However I was a bit concerned again at another team, United this time, exposing us down the wings. Fortunately, they weren't capable of causing any damage. Better teams might. I don't know whether this is down to individual's positioning or AJ's instructions. Also we seem to be concentrating our efforts on playing down the right. All too often Manny Longelo was all on his own on the left, but being ignored. It was clearly frustrating him. Presumably that's down to instructions - I hope its not the Darren Jackson syndrome. Anyway in the great scheme of things not huge issues. Anyway, a thoroughly enjoyable night in front of another healthy crowd. We really do seem to have built a deep and quality squad now.

Ill give you white and Blyth, they were brutal but not Bowman and Main, Stamas league goals mainly penalties. Main and especially Ryan elbows Bowman put themselves about, knew where the goals were and generally read the game well. Stama was never where he should have been, his reading of the game was shocking always reacting and never anticipating so he was never able to make the most of any potential chances. He arrived and was full of promise, scored a few pens but never kicked on, after his 1st child was born he was not interested always injured and generally looked like he never wanted to be in the shire. He was never the standard we needed and never would be, sent back to Sydney on loan and even they did not want him. So releasing him was the only sensible option.

He was better than Jordan White and Jacob Blyth and scored more league goals than Ryan Bowman or Curtis Main. He certainly didn't make the transition the way we'd hoped, but not the worst we've had by any means. I have no problems keeping through the summer to see what Alfred made of him.
