A mixed bag for us today. St Mirren played us at our own game and they were pretty good at it. Looking at the BBC stats we matched each other blow for blow. Positives We still managed to dominate possession. First 20 mins we could have been out of sight. We kept right going to the end and got a reward Passing accuracy was over 90%. Generally we need to be above 85% to take something but St Mirrens was also 84% Lowry was excellent Negatives Lost most 50/50 balls Didn't create much with superior possession Defensively all over the place at times. Longlleo too often squared it when a few times he should have had a go cos himself cos hes got a good shot on him. A draw was a fair result but huge room for improvement after first 20 mins. Would have taken a point before the game and was more than happy with the point at the end of it...honestly, I dont think it can be underestimated how much these European matches take out of the players. I think Craig McLeish deserves a lot of credit. After years of hoofball and hammer-throwing, he's got them playing some nice stuff. They still have that edge to them and got away with similar fouls to the ones that we were penalised for.

Paulsen made 3 really great saves in the second half. Thought Fadinger was really good for the most part, but Lowry was excellent today, he is a difference maker with his vision and range if passing. All doubts over his workrate and mentality are in the bin.

I was right though. 🤷‍♂️ A draw was a good result given how the game went and a last minute leveller sickened the St.Mirren fans so that is a positive. Questions need to be asked over the way we surrendered a 2-0 lead within minutes at the end of the first half to go in behind at the interval. I’m happy with the draw given the context of the game.
