  1. Past hour
  2. Cool, tell me when your going to start and I'll keep an eye out for them 😉
  3. Collins, I think, was slightly too far ahead of his time to make a positive impact on the Scottish footballer mentality at the time. Cathro, by all accounts, wasn't a great man manager - although that might just have been people who didn't like his ideas being snarky. JBA was obviously a great communicator and man manager, and that is essential when you want to implement new ideas.
  4. I wonder if Scotland is ready for Ian Cathro yet? Seems bizarre that he, and John Collins before him, couldn't really get their more continental ideas across.
  5. Or anywhere else apart from the Scottish leagues.
  6. I think we should make him an offer, after all we have nothing Toulouse.
  7. I think that confirms what we all know about the vast majority of Celtic fans. Totally clueless. he’s not rated by them as he’s Scottish and a product of their awful youth academy. Even the likes of James Forrest and Macgregor who are highly decorated and whatever we think of them have been excellent Celtic players, haven’t ever been really liked by their support and have had many shout of “not Celtic class “… whatever that means. for me Welsh and McGinn have been the best defenders in the league this year… by a distance. good luck to Welsh, he gave his all and it wouldn’t surprise me if he ends up in France
  8. Today
  9. Definitely not a charitable act on Celtics part I will be surprised if it’s not Toulouse.
  10. I would presume that the reason he has agreed to rip up the last year of his contract is because he has been offered a deal elsewhere on the same or better. Why else would you? Clearly they want him off the books to free up a wage, the fact that they dont have to pay up his contract is a bonus for them. I love the fact its being painted as a charitable exercise from Celtic though as a thanks for all his years of loyal service!
  11. I think that's been people's concerns with Jens leaving. We don't want last season to be referred to in years to come as "remember that season we tried to play attractive, passing football that everyone raved about?". The positive is that the noises coming out of the club suggest that they don't want that either....
  12. He's not coming to us. On a separate note, I get the feeling that there's more to his departure from Celtic Park than meets the eye.
  13. You are miles out i am afraid. Press conference set to be held there to announce Wishy as ryder cup venue in 2031 ! 🤪🤪
  14. That a different level to “was seen at upper crust bakery” 😂
  15. I think if we continue to play the style of football we did during this past season, people will still be coming along to Fir Park to support the team.
  16. Would love to see us sign him but cant see it happening unless we can offer parts of deal like big signing on fee and maybe a percentage of transfer fee when sold. Kelly must hsve been on big wage at QPR before he signed for us.
  17. Nobody at the club, fans or Board, seems to rate him. I understand that sometimes players aren't always a good fit for a particular team or system, but given the way Celtic like to play it feels like an obvious choice to keep him (and start him).
  18. The amazing thing to me was that I never spoke to a Celtic fan who rated him in the slightest.
  19. Because he was on 6.5k per week and should have no trouble getting that in Toulouse.
  20. I see Celtic have agreed to an early termination of Steven Welsh contract. Why do I get the horrible feeling he ain't coming to us.
  21. What his dad does his private life is nobody else's business.
  22. We shouldn't be busting the bank for anyone. Welsh was great, but other football playing centre backs are available.
  23. The 8 team Euros were my favourite footballing event and still remember the 1976 tournament where the original Panenka was taken (by Panenka, obviously) in the penalty shootout in the final.
  24. See Smelik have terminated Welsh’s contract……….should we be busting the bank for him ????
  25. I was just about ready to throw myself out a window after trying to explain to a younger family member that Steve Clarke "getting us to major tournaments" isn't as impressive as it might have been when we were doing it in the 80's and 90's, when said tournaments included 24 and 8 teams. Don't get me wrong, I grudgingly respect Clarke getting us to the tournaments he has, but let's not pretend that it's even close to the same as Roxborough getting us to the 1990 World Cup and 1992 Euros. It's mental to think that tournament in 1992 featured us and only seven other teams!
  26. Progression for me doesn't mean attaining more success, it's more about continuing with what we've been doing. I'm thinking more along the lines of establishing ourselves as a mainstay in the top six, for example. We've finished in the top six something like three times in the past ten years, so establishing a run of finishing in the top six would be progress in my opinion. Continuing to play an attractive, exciting brand of football that attracts fans to the ground is also important. That's mainly what I mean when I say it would have been interesting to see how JBA would have fared in his second season.
