  1. Today
  2. If they're going to go into administration again, they might as well do it splashing out big wages on good players.
  3. Georgie Gent comes on as a late sub for Barnsley at Anfield in the FA Cup
  4. Fair enough from O'Neill. Welsh is their player and I can imagine he wont actually be happy going back. Been immense but attitude top class and really taken club to heart. Sane also with Balmer, always smiling and always got involved with celebrations, wish both every success but if we could get Welsh back it would be awesome
  5. Liam Morrison from QPR wanting a loan move to try and push for the Scotland squad. He’s quite young and a good prospect by all accounts. I’ve no doubt being a product of Bayern Munich that he can play.
  6. O'Neill saying there's a chance Welsh could be sent back to us if he can get players in and they have no further injuries. Sounded apologetic to Welsh, said he was enjoying himself 'immensely' here, complemented the football Motherwell have been playing, but said it's needs must. No suggestion they're punting him to anyone. Great as that would be, it puts JBA in a tricky situation, as there seems to be a will, but no guarantee.
  7. Although sad to see him return Lots of positives re Welsh . We’ve benefited from having someone better than we’d normally afford and he improved our teams results . He’s also improved his personal stock and suspect a serious contender to get game time at park head . if a bigger club was to give another loanee of similar quality for rest of the season that would be fine by me
  8. Get your money on Staggies!! JBA named manager of month for December! 🤪🤪
  9. Probably wrong but the only place I could see him going is Belgium , but even then the wages might be an issue. A Loan might be doable I guess. But remember Celtic already mucked him about when Mechelen wanted him back for this season. To our benefit. Celtic have one CB injured long term and let two youngsters for the same position leave because they could not get in ahead of Scales and Trusty. Which speaks volumes about Celtic's recruitment under Rodgers. No inside info, just a feeling, but I think they have recalled him to be a starter.....at least until Carter Vickers returns. And as others have said, why should Welsh take a wage cut to facilitate a permanent transfer to the likes of Aberdeen or us?
  10. Unless they truly do want him to be a starter, it feels like Celtic might just be testing the waters in Jan.
  11. No worries, I may also have read it wrong 😁 I'd agree I think fee wise we could afford him but there it goes South.
  12. My point was that we could afford the fee but the wages ruled us out. Sorry if that was not clear.
  13. I can't believe for a minute we would have matched Celtic 10 grand a week and also don't believe the player would cut himself off from 18mths on 10 grand a week to join us on a permanent move.
  14. I'm not really talking about "No thanks". More a case of saying "I'll sign in the summer".
  15. What you say is true but sadly we know that very few players in Scotland will turn down the chance to go to either Celtic or Rangers. Maybe also Aberdeen and Hearts. Whether it works out for them or not is not really a consideration. They will usually get chances somewhere elsewhere if that is the case. That's just life up here. We are not the only club that faces that challenge. In fact even those clubs I listed face the exact same issue when England or Europe come calling. If any of those four are prepared to offer a 3 or 4 year contract at upwards of £10k a week (which is what Welsh is on) then it would take a very brave and confident player to say "no thanks". John McGinn is the only one I can think of and in his case I think it was more Hibs than the player that refused the move to Celtic. And what if a player stays put and his form dips or he suffers a serious injury? That might be his only chance of financial security gone. Or if a club deny a move and the player downs tools or disrupts the dressing room? Declan Gallagher springs to mind....allegedly. If Motherwell receive a fair offer and a player wants to go then he will be gone.
  16. Lets forget this loan nonsense from rival yes rival clubs in the same league it's time to get a permanent adding value to our club instead of adding value to other rival club. I am sure Jens will have some gem lined up anyway as more than likely probably knew this was coming. Best of luck to Mr Welsh And Mr Balmer hope his loan move to Bristol Rovers works out.
  17. Kofi Balmer's exit confirmed by the club.
  18. I think the likelihood is he'll be out the door. Where he goes remains to be seen but it'd be a sore one if he ended up in the north east.
  19. Transforming is great, but it's January and we need someone who can be an instant starter. Players we need to develop and integrate are projects for the summer. I know it's not easy, but I"d be more interested in signing someone on a permanent basis.
  20. If that is case its strange as you would think they would want him our team v Hearts and rangers
  21. Gutted to see Welsh go, he’s been one of the best loan signings we’ve ever had at the club. But he’s a loan and it never looked like he’d be permanent unfortunately. I did wonder about this when oneill came back. rumour is we may get the Rangers boy Nsiala til the end of the season. Looks to be a footballing centre half, young and mobile. Could be a good one too for Jens to transform.

  23. This is just the negatives of loaning players from the same league maybe it's time to invest in another center back that will do the job for us as well as the striker we desperately need for the title run in!It's time for the Well to get the big bollocks out and keep the momentum going cause the way I see it invest the now and those investments will reap rewards. In Jens we trust!
  24. Gave this some more thought walking the mutts, and wonder if you wouldn`t put it past them to take Welsh back to try and weaken us as a competitor. Not saying we`re going to win the league, but we`ll see how much game time Welsh gets at the Piggery.
  25. It would seem that Ross County haven't yet put tickets on sale for their support yet. Odd.
