Have you been on holiday , we would never have known. 🤣
-
I’m feeling oddly confident - perhaps that second hand performance or perhaps a couple of weekday sherbets . that may change quickly depending on team selection
-
Last night of holiday so 3pts please so i can check out hotel tomorrow with a smile on my face. COYW
-
Hopefully 3pts tonight and take the pressure off. I am still backing AJ. I know its results based but he made big commitment to move family over here and genuinely comes across a nice guy. The players need to step up. COYW

Before Saturday i was almost on the get him out bus, but i saw enough in that second half to show it is small margins & the players are still trying. They are so far away from the death throws of kettlewells & alexanders reigns. Would also say its not just me saying that. Pundits on the radio were praising us for throwing the kitchen sink at hearts & noting we were unlucky. This place actually has a surprising amount of posters sayiing the same thing. Of course we might lose the next two & then we are having a different chat but for me, we can still recover this.

Best. Celebration. Ever. There are only 15 other teams who have picked it up in the 75 years since, so I'm not too embarrassed.

Sadly we all wont live to be a 150 and a chance of seeing it happen again. -
My late father was at the game and got drenched. If I'm right, Hibs crushed us at Fir Park the week before and were rightly odds on favourites for the cup. Make of that what you will.

76 years since we achieved that, it actually should be a source of embarrassment as well as pride in the actual achievement on the day. -

Stand up and sing for Motherwell 🎼 -
And MJC predicted 4-0 Hibs! 🤣

Maybe some truth in that ( I just gave a couple of names to appease people ) St Johnstone tbf were a shambles when simo took over & from the outside looked like he changed the culture & got them fighting for the badge ( plus he knows Scottish football ) i don’t think we want to go down to see if Aj can rebuild us 😂 ( I know that’s not what your saying ) Mcglynns been mentioned but don’t see why you would leave Falkirk to come to us
-
I think I'm right in saying that St Johnstone were 10th when he took over and expectations were very limited. They'd only picked up 4 points from 7 games.
-
You can’t polish a turd, but you can roll it in glitter.
-
Surely there’s a bit of irony in folk proposing Simo. He struggled badly at first at Saints and actually went down! But they stood by him and he’s come good. Fingers crossed we don't get to that point, but sticking behind AJ might just be what helps turns things around.

On this day in 1950, Motherwell won their first national trophy. At Hampden on 28 October they beat Hibs 3-0 in the League Cup final, with Archie Kelly, Jim Forrest and Willie Watters all scoring in the second half, against a Hibs side that went on to win the league that season. Eighteen months later the Scottish Cup followed. It's a great memory for every Motherwell fan to celebrate: 76 years ago today the club brought home its first national cup. The carousel below tells the day in five slides: the final, the three second-half goals, the Hibs side that went on to be champions, and the Scottish Cup win of 1952. The pictures are period trade cards of Andy Paton, Archie Kelly, Lawrie Reilly and Willie Ormond from 1950-51 (no photographer named). Across their managerial careers, McGlynn and Valakari both have better win ratios and points-per-game records than Johansson. They’ve managed more games, but the numbers still speak for themselves.

No problem. Simo Valakari’s name crops up everytime we are/or may be looking for a manager. I don’t know if he’s applied for the job previously or been interviewed but if he has then something has stopped the board from hiring him - may be as simple as being beaten by a better candidate. I did think when JBA left that we might have tried to get John McGlynn, who seems to have a very good record at improving teams. I sincerely hope we can get at least 4 points from our next 2 games and take the heat off the manager, and that he can turn things in his favour longer term.
-
What do you mean this week? 🤔😇
-
And to be honest, the ones who do are eejits, because they can end up doing themselves all sorts of long term damage.
-
Its a broad comment about footballers in general. It goes on.
-
I worked with a boy who’s sister is married to Luke shaw players down tools more than you would imagine from his stories ( my head office is Wilmslow home of the stars before it’s called out 😂 ) Think there’s certainly a few at Motherwell than can go up the gears

Shhhhhhh.. my boss thinks I am off sick this week......SALUD!! 🤣🤣

Probably best not to say that unless you're in the know
