I won't be worried about lack of depth unless we are having this conversation in September.
-
Does the reliance on the youngsters in the second half show that we are lacking depth which may get worse if we are to lose Just Watt etc? think it’s good that he gave them a run out to see what he has but worryingly perhaps also shows the lack of depth.

One for the real oldies, Johnny Aitkenhead. Never saw him myself, but my father claimed that he was the best penalty taker he had ever seen for us. His ability to accurately pass the ball into the corner of the goal was both simple and effective.
-
One for us oldies. Dave Whiteford. If I remember correctly. Might be a bit biased though. His first game for MFC was the first Motherwell game I attended. Truth be told I did not know that until 5 minutes ago. St Johnstone at FP in 1966. 3-3. Went on to partner Joe Wark for many a year.

First pick: Brian McLaughlin.
-
Stama would probably pull a hamstring just placing the ball on the penalty spot.
-
I was worried that might go over some heads...grizzly dug me out...thanks
-
Yep. Was trying to think who took penalties in that 93/94 team...
-
Rab McKinnon (could smash a ball)
-
Having read the Motherwell Greatest 100 thread with interest and watching the World Cup the last few days, a question popped into my head. If you could pick five Motherwell players of any era to take penalties in a shoot out, who would you pick? Having thought about it, I'll stick to players I've seen.. Cooper Nijholt Moult Stamatelopolous McFadden Pretty sure I've forgotten an obvious one or two. Higdon or Sutton maybe..? Who else have I forgotten?

And I am not even anywhere near pension age! 🤣
-
FFS, is this a pensioners forum ??? 🤣
-
😆 I got this. Too subtle for some I think
-
You would expect we'd have a behind closed doors one next week to help them build sharpness before Genk and HB
-
Sounds like a few misplaced passes contributed to the result. However, results don’t matter in these games, it’s what you learn.
-
Think the biggest take-away will be AJ's feedback
-
Pretty much the youth team from about 50/60 mins. FWIW thought the young lads gave a decent enough account of themselves. Plenty energy but a few errors costly, got up the park a few times but outmuscled in the final third. Thought #34 at centre half looked fairly confident in our style of play.
-
Minutes in legs and a chance to shake off rustiness. Thats about it. Have we any more friendlies arranged before the Genk game?
-
Time to go Alfred, unacceptable!! 🙃 if it goes the same way as last season after our Twente thumping then I’ll be ok.
-
Winner of most colours in a sentence isssssssss. 🤪🤪

It's our first game of season......... Ay ay....calm down calm down
