It baffles me with every passing shitfest how Robinson has managed to ascend to achieve the UEFA Pro Licence and be an assessor fro the Irish FA. There is almost nothing on the park that suggests we are a top flight footballing team. If we aren't relegated this year, then we will most certainly be the following season. I've gotten bored of even bothering to start picking apart how shite a footballing team we are. That was a fucking holocaust of a performance against a really, really average side. In a season of demoralising mediocrity, especially at Fir Park, that disaster is right up there. The season's pretty much over unless we get even worse and get caught by 3 of the worst teams ever to blacken the Scottish top flight. Unbelievably grim stuff.5 points

If you play a 4-2-3-1 with two sitting midfielders and three attacking midfielders you need a forward that can hold the ball up (Johnson can't), you need wide players that are going to come inside (Frear doesn't do that, Ariyibi didn't show much evidence of that either), you need your most creative midfielder in the forward attacking row (Turnbull wasn't) and you need two dedicated defensive midfielders (Campbell was on the bench). A total cluster fuck.5 points

Going out the cup at home to lower league opposition is unforgivable. Between that, the shocking summer recruitment, the tactics, the performances and results it’s been horrific from the start this season. Many of us hoped that signing off before the break on a win coupled with a genuine marquee signing would give us fresh impetus for the second half of the season but with that shot down in flames Robinsons position is now untenable and he has to go.4 points

‘We’re 2-0 down gaffer, they’re running over the top of us in the midfield and we look like we won’t score this side of Easter because there’s no creativity in the whole side. What are we going to do?’ ’Get Alex Rodriguez-Gorrin stripped’.3 points

He's got to go now. We are constantly at crisis point now and have been for some time with the odd win and the ineptitude of other clubs taking the pressure off. The guy is incapable of picking a line up or formation that lasts longer than 45 minutes, there is no way he is the person at the helm of the club long term. Get him to fuck.3 points

Absolute dross today. No creativity, no heart, no battling for the ball. It was a winner takes all cup game and we did f**k all to win it. my recollection of McCormack's first 45 minutes in a Well strip was that he touched the ball once and that was to hit a free kick ( I missed the first 5 minutes so perhaps he kicked the game off). He was so unfit it was unbelievable. The other new lad looks like he has some tricks and was far better on the left when he swapped with Frear before he was swapped back to the right. Gorrin I thought showed more in his 15-20 minutes than the rest of them did in the whole game.2 points

Complete dross! Im usually in the glass half full camp but thats enough for me. Style and tactics have been brutal for too long but today i had some optimism going to the game with the new players and what seemed an adventurous line up with football players........ Sadly after 5minutes it was obvious that despite the formation, the tactics remained the same. Big high balls over the top. Not intent to try play through the middle or down the sides, no attempt to get our footballers (Turnbull, McCormack, Ariyibi?, even Freer) on the ball. McCormack may have been unfit but there was nothing for him today as the ball was continually launched over the top. The players on the pitch lacked desire and to be honest, in the second half looked as though they had no clue! That was a deplorable performance and baws need booted both in terms of the management and the players. Iv been reasonably supportive of Robinson but after that, thats me in the get him to fuck camp.2 points

Ambitious? In what way? It’s anti-football. A back four was demanded by many on here - pace alongside Aldred? Moving Dunne across one and giving Livingstone game time is an easy remedy.2 points

We are a team completely bereft of footballing acumen because we have a manager completely bereft of footballing acumen. Robinson is a plague of locust and when he's finished there will be nothing left. Nothing but a barren wasteland whence once football existed. The first half was poor but the second half was atrocious. The first goal was over due when it came. Ross County should have won by more than two. Who thought Turnbull should play along side McHugh in a defensive midfield position? Who thought McCormack was fit to play? Who thought that Danny Johnson could play up front on his own? And our touch, our play, our style, our ability, our imagination, our creativity, our defending, our overall attitude..... Honestly, I've ran out of vitriol. I having nothing new to say, no new way to describe it. It's just the same old shite every week. If we don't beat Hibs midweek Robinson should be fired. The whole club needs cleaned out with a high power hose and guys like Hastie, Livingston and James need to step up. We need football people at the club. Please, please, please get them in.2 points

Frear was doubled up on all game, and was the only player to offer anything in attack, including setting up our goal. With such a poor team performance, singling our Frear is just silly.2 points

I just love how they go for a break in the warm weather when the last thing they need is training in conditions they will not be in for the rest of the season. Would your boss take you on a sunny holiday if you been working below par for six months?2 points

That doesn't have to involved every dinosaur we can dig up from the bone yard. I think Robbo's time is up. I'd like to think we'd be looking at options other than the ghosts of Scottish fitba past. Regardless, the next guy gets support until they blow it too.1 point

I don't know that Robinson was under pressure to play his new signings. He had already suggested it would be February before McCormack may be fit enough to play. Ariyibi's involvement admittedly made more sense given we've been lacking an attacking right sided midfielder since Cadden got injured but he could easily have selected much the same team that beat Hamilton, gradually introduced the newbies and most would have considered it fair and maybe even sensible. The only pressure put on Robinson to play him was from Robinson himself. As for the negativity whilst it is undoubtedly the case a negative atmosphere does little to inspire players to give more believe me this group of players have got off extremely lightly with some moaning and booing at the end of the game in comparison to many a Motherwell side over the years.1 point

We place so much emphasis on the Cups as a support and from the business side of things with the finances that can be generated that I do wonder if that defeat will resonate throughout the board of directors much much more than us "plodding along" league position, however much a chore it is to watch. I'm not fond of the saying "we were beaten before we set foot on the park". You are never beaten before you step on to the park but a team selection can make a whole lot harder for you than it needs to be, and that was how it seemed to me. Like some I too got the impression that Robinson thought we would have enough about us to use this game to help people find fitness and tinker with his formation whilst still making the next round. You look through that team and half of them trying to bed themselves back into the side to get match fit far less messing about with formations and deploying players in roles they've rarely played. We were told Tait didn't train with the rest of the squad in Tenerife but goes straight in. Hartley has had one game back after how long out and even then he's hardly kicked a ball in a year. It took Dunne a few months to get up to speed last season and there's no evidence to suggest it's going to be any different this time. McCormack was supposed to be a doubt until February but somehow is deemed fit start but can only last a half watching the ball fly over him. Turnbull withdrawn from the area in which he's been most effective and having played with two strikers we suddenly decide to go with one. It all just felt like too much at the one time and we paid the price for it. Whether Robinson goes on to pay the ultimate price for it I don't know, but much of his credit in the bank will have gone after that. An awful afternoon.1 point

Kilmarnock play 4-4-2 most of the time. Burke - Power - Dicker - Jones. They are a similar sized club to us and they are challenging for the title.1 point

The starting lineup seemed to be well received on social media but I couldn’t get me head round it. For a manager who favours a conservative 352 to go with a balls out 424, it struck me Robinson had ran out of ideas and/or was showing disrespect to the opposition. It proved to be both! Where were Campbell and Grimshaw? How the fuck could we expect to ‘win the battle’ with a midfield 2 of McHugh and Turnbull? As poor as we’ve been for the last 12 months, a tricky Scottish cup tie is not the time for experimenting or pinning your hopes on a new striker that is miles away from being fit. If it weren’t for keeping an eye on the progress of the likes of Turnbull, Campbell, Cadden and hopefully Hastie, I don’t think I’d bother going back this season. We are a horrible fucking team to watch. Having watched the brilliant Steelmen last night, the one bright spot from today is that some of the clowns in our current team will never fluke their way to being mentioned in the same breath as proper hero’s that possessed real quality and desire.1 point

frear was our only player who kept creating. im going against the grain here but if we had scored 1st and obviously we didn't. we would have won. i like their midfielder lindsay and also big draper in front of their defense when they are defending a lead was good. they have a team full of 27 to 33 year old experienced pros and hence the reason they are top off championship. last 25 mins you can call it timewasting or whatever but its what all good teams in that position do. ps they aren't that good but they beat us and that says it all. davy turnbull is too safe when in a 2 centre mid and the negativity from 65 in was ridiculous but typical well fans. how some people left after their 2nd goal went in was embarrassing and i feel those people arent interested in football but only to say to other people they are. our season is over and i am gutted. And yes i agree robinson out and personally id want craigan in.1 point

Changed a winning team again, No way should the two new guys have started. McCormack was played in Turnbull's position and was way of the pace. Turnbull looked lost as a result. Wrong team selection again. Young players (Livingstone) left out the team to put in players obviously not ready for 20mins never mind 90. Poor show all round.1 point

He has a point in his interview regarding the time it’s going to take to scrap the old style of play, and I’m happy he’s going to persevere with the new style, but I’m getting tired of his “no excuses, I’ll shoulder the blame, now sit back and listen to some excuses” interview template.1 point

Robinson shows no sign of having any type of long term plan and really needs to go now. If we were going through a shit time because he was trying to build something that might be acceptable but it just seems to be one shambles after another with the odd surprise decent performance.1 point

I think Big Stall summed it up in part of his post above. Despite the formation all we did 9 times out of 10 was punt balls up from the back. There was actually little or no intent on keeping the ball on the ground and using the width the formation needed. Given neither McCormack or Johnstone are giants that was just plain crazy. Second half and again as Big Stall has stated we did not have a clue what we were doing, it just deteriorated into a complete, desperate, shambles. You would have had no idea we were the Premiership team.1 point

How long before Burrows and the board grow themselves a set of balls and get rid ? Today showed yet again how tactically naive this footballing dinosaur is. Effectively played with 4 centre half’s ( included McHugh) from the start and hoofed it route one to two midgets against 4 giants. His tactics are dross, his signings are the same and our season is over bar a relegation fight . Based on today the players either don’t want to play for him, are all shite or didn’t know what the were meant to be doing. I believe we have 7 or 8 players good enough to do well in this league but not under his stewardship . If burrows persists with him the latest dwindling crowds will dwindle further - no cup runs to hide behind . what did he work on in Tenerife other than head tennis ? Fucking clueless1 point

Not sure about us underestimating Ross County, more that they could probably not believe how bad we were. We were an absolute shambles there, I can usually find a couple of positives but not from that game.1 point

I honestly never ever thought I would contemplate saying that after 50 years of supporting Motherwell I really don't want to go and watch us anymore. If that doesn't ring alarm bells with the hierarchy then they must be oblivious to what is happening in the stands1 point

Robinson shouldn't be allowed to sign anybody else,he should be hunted before he wastes anymore on new players, get a new manager in and tell him to work with the squad he has until the summer, when changes can be made.the season is pretty much over, chances are were going to finish roughly where we are already in the league, there's no point in persisting with shit performances every week and sticking with robinson until at least the end of the season, change it now and let a new guy have plenty of time too assess the squad for next season.1 point

Frear was our best player by a mile today. Admittedly that's not saying much, but the little we did well all came through him.1 point

Took him 3 attempts to get it to him. Has no plan B to get past a man everything is one dimensional. So Ariyibi didn’t offer anything? But he beat player after player and I could see he wasn’t 100% fit aswell.1 point

Most of us are old enough to remember many times we have lost out to lower league opposition in cup competitions. It is not exclusive to Motherwell as the FA Cup is proving this season. Be interesting to see how St Mirren fair v Alloa and Dundee v QOS. Hoping more likely to see an upset in those ties than ours. In fact one that sticks in the memory iirc was Ayr United at Fir Park. 4-3 it finished to Ayr. Early 2000 so going back a bit but it sadly sticks in my mind.,.... As a result anyone who is probably over 40 years of age will never suggest we are likely to win any tie. Those of a younger age will not forget Albion Rovers. Still Ross C have a fair few injuries, plus red card plus Paul Paton is I believe cup tied. Their form has dipped recently but they are still top of the league immediately below us. So only 4 places below us. Probably be like playing St Mirren to an extent. If we focus and are up for the game then we ought to win through but being Motherwell never take anything for granted.1 point

Fair point! Even the shirts I’ve helped design there were minor issues that annoyed me. However, for the past year or so I’ve been in contact with the guy that runs the Aztec Retro shirts site so I’m hopeful of some news on the Motherwell shirt front in 2019.1 point
