If he’s as good as he is carrying an “ injury “ how fucking good will he be when fully fit. GET THE PRICE UP!!!!!5 points

I think this may be one time when everyone on here is in agreement and I hope the board realize the position of the fans. We cannot and should not even entertain any reduced price or change in terms. We need to step up and tell them to complete this deal now or else there is no deal. Not now and not any time in the future.3 points

The fact that they have had him sat next to Lennon in a Celtic top five days ago but are now trying to lower the price and putting out info about medical problems that only they have discovered isn't even surprising. I said there should be a premium just for dealing with this mob the other week and now i'm starting to think we should blacklist them. They are a fundamentally dishonest football club.3 points

Not a problem for me, I would be more than happy if he stayed. We should not be getting involved in any negotiations, they either pay the fee agreed or he stays.2 points

Celtic want £25m for Tiermey who has and continues to have injury problems. Would be extremely disappointed if our club renegotiates. As i said get him back in a well shirt. Sod the money. We can always sell someone else down the line for mega bucks.2 points

You’re pretty negative for someone with that avatar.2 points

Would we? If Celtic started playing funny buggers with the fee that they agreed previously, you think Turnbull would throw a strop if we don't accept it? You don't think he'd knuckle down and see what else comes up this window, or in January? That last sentence is also calling into question his professionalism. I've seen nothing to suggest he'd act in that way.2 points

I may be wrong here , but I don't recall David having any injury problems throughout his entire motherwell career. Something smells extremely fishy here and I don't mean their support.1 point

Pull the plug, Motherwell, please. This deal has never felt right, from "Magnificent offer but we move on, you greedy boy" to "We really want you really and it's great you turned down a PL club for Ra Sellick". Yet Tierney, probs crocked by Rodgers' dubious training methods, is worth £25+ squillion. Never deal with shysters. I feel sorry for DT but I don't think his heart was ever in this piece of nonsense.1 point

There should be no renegotiation with Celtic. They are still getting a bargain. If they won't pay the price they don't get Turnbull.1 point

Maybe in the Turnbulls interest for our club to say you dont need this crap and pull out of the deal. Get him back playing, perhaps another new contract and see where we are in a season. Turnbull wants to play. May as well be here where he will be appreciated.1 point

Just been announced his move is in serious jeopardy. This has been a shambles. Motherwell need to step in now and get him back.1 point

Still think it’s nothing more than a slight delay to a good as done deal1 point

What I don’t understand is Turnbull’s ambition re his development Norwich couldn’t guarantee him the game time that he was looking for but I’m sure he would have been loaned to the appropriate club so that he was getting the game time that Norwich wanted for him ( probably at a higher level than what he is at the moment) The boy Maddison is a prime example where he was sent to Aberdeen then went back to Norwich became a star with them the got a great move to Leicester for big bucks Who would you rather be coached by for your future development Daniel Farke, Edmund Riemer, Christopher John, Chris Domogalla Three of whom served their apprenticeship under Juergen Klopp at Dortmund OR Neil Lennon, John Kennedy or Stevie Woods1 point

Oh geez peace you sanctimonious clown. We've had this argument already way back. Would we what? There is nothing in what I wrote that satisfies that response. Read my post again, it was highlighting that Yodo suggesting we hold onto him (which contractually we could be able to do) he would no doubt be unhappy that the club stood in the way of a higher career move and a massive wage increase. As for questioning his "his" professionalism, I think you'll find I did nothing of the sort, I questioned Yodo's and asking for a something from Turnbull he'd unlikely approve for himself. With reference directly to the player I said he'd be unhappy which I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone to disagree with. If I was on 1k a week and 10x was a heartbeat away then naturally every single one of us would be miffed. None of us know if Celtic's concerns are genuine, over the top or to beat down the price. Regardless, they raised concerns if they do pull out with any other interested party and may dampen alternative interest. If it is the latter then they have nefariously and adversely affected MFC's prized asset. Just to remind you, we live in a capitalist society, jealousy and greed is what drives the vast majority. Bigger house, better car than the neighbours, better bird than the mates one etc. To suggest its not a factor is to assume we live in some utopian society which everyone knows we do not. As a moderator you really should know better and refrain from putting words in someone's mouth and basing posts on your inferences.1 point

I don't normally buy tops but quite impressed with both tops this year. I might have to resurrect my 5's career for an excuse to buy one.1 point

Hey, maybe we're signing Dennis Bergkamp, the Non-Flying Dutchman? Even at 50, he's still going to contribute more than Ross McCormack managed.1 point

I would have been really impressed if the picture was taken on the wing of the plane.1 point

I think McCall's approach to recruitment that summer was mental. He signed Lawson and Vigurs, who excelled in a midfield three and then signed Sutton, who could only play in a front two. I think McCall just went out and signed the best players available to him, without a shape or a plan. I still think it's a mystery we finished second with that squad and that told with the way things went the following year.1 point

Ross McCormack 2nd time around? I'm sure most us thought it was a fantastic signing until we saw him waddling about that left wing very briefly.1 point

This is fucking great. As a guy who was raised a Catholic and has Irish heritage I take umbrage against this "tattiedome" also. There is clearly no roof on the piggery so it cannot be considered a dome.1 point

Offence is often taken and rarely given. It doesn't mean you are either correct or have access to certain rights, it's just a whine. It has no meaning, it has no purpose, it has no reason to be respected. "oh I'm offended by that" ...... So fucking what! Stephen Fry1 point

Once again I am staggered by the negativity (I should not be. I have been reading this forum long enough). The reality is that we have smashed our record transfer fee out the park on a player that is only 19 years old. Why has this happened? Did we just happen to strike it lucky with Turnbull, a Motherwell fan and local lad. To a very small degree, yes because he undoubtedly has natural ability but Turnbull is a product of decisions made some years ago now by the Board and Alan Burrows to invest in youth development. He has been nurtured through a system that allows good young talent to fulfil their potential. This is something we should be congratulating the club on. My opinion is that we are ahead of most, if not all, clubs in Scotland in this regard. Stephen Craigan must take a lot of credit too. This is something we should be celebrating, not criticising. Regarding the player himself, the money involved in his move to Celtic will be life changing. He is 19 years old with huge decisions to make about his future. Let's cut him some slack and just enjoy watching him develop, knowing that he is a Motherwell produced Motherwell fan, who has come good. The hypocrites on here who would no doubt sell their Grannies for a lot less, get the chance to take the theoretical moral high ground because they have not been successful enough to be making these decisions for themselves. I think you have to have walked in Turnbull's shoes before you can start spouting forth about his decision making. Like all Motherwell fans, I will be walking out of Firpark gutted if he is scoring for fun against us next season, but that's football. Let's enjoy the benefits that the transfer money will bring, be appreciative of Motherwell's forward thinking as we enjoy watching the young players break into the first team and take some pride in watching David Turnbulls career take off if he genuinely does have the potential we all think he has.1 point

Certainly puts us on the radar for bigger clubs looking for development prospects and encouraging local boys that Motherwell is the place to start any prospective career in football. The fees we will receive for the other 3 mentioned will total a 7 figure sum on their own. Win win for us all round.1 point
