Based on his track record (and that of most managers) 60% of this summers acquisitions will have something about them and 40% will be duds. Some on here are looking for a 100% return on investment which never happens.

Any chance of a decent post this year...... If Cadden were to stay that would surely impact the possibility of Gboly coming back on loan. Not sure what to make of our signings so far. Saw Gallagher in action in Belfast and I think he will be a right good signing. I also think Long May prove to be a better goalscorer than Main. Not a huge challenge granted but 2 goals in pre season is a good start. Polworth is likely to be a similar figure to McHugh. Some will rate him others won’t. The rest fall into the wait and see camp. I thought Hylton looked quite decent so far but not seen a great deal from Sloth albeit very early days. Cole and Seedorf are getting slated but if even one of them turns out to be a good signing I would take that. Would take Gboly and another striker to round things off.

Jim Gannon is a name that always seems to split opinion amongst the Well fans be it good or bad. Said earlier in this topic I quite enjoyed his time in charge. The 8-1 European game sticks in my head as a game as one of my favourite Well games I really enjoyed looking back. One thing I will say is we have a better man who cares more about our club in charge at the minute.

I’m going down the potential route. Could go either way as always but plenty of reasons to be a little enthusiastic about the coming season.

Sometimes OTF's post are a wee bit cryptic but there's a good reason for that. Sources, whoever or whatever they are have to be protected and respected. His posts are usually right on the money and they are very interesting to read. A very important contributor to this site.

I just find the "Just want Louis back" "Bring Cedric home" posts on here, FB and Twitter cringeworthy and embarrassing. It's like people wishing the players to fail. Like it or not, coming back here for either would be a step down now. Get over it!

Overall the “rebuilt” squad looks stronger than last year. On potential alone it looks like it could be a pretty exciting season.

And in goals for about 8 years the awfull Stevie Woods...

He was a good honest professional who knew his limitations. He gave me one of the best ever nights watching the Well when he netted that late winner. For that goal alone, I haven’t got a bad word to say about the man.

I think people also forget that he was quote an important part of McGhee's team first time around...

I don't the mind the group format at all Would rather play 4 guaranteed cup games at the start of the season than say 1 or 2 and the rest meaningless friendlies. Would be in favour of scrapping the North/South sections but and just make it that anyone can draw anyone
