I’m his son actually. The generosity of people has brought me to tears a couple of times this week.
His funeral is on Wednesday 18th September at 10am at the Linn Crematorium.
I’m making it my target to get to the Ross County game as the big man would be furious if I missed a game at Fir Park.
Hard to disagree but I would add Willie P to the list. We beat Dundee 3-6 at Dens in 1975 (?) and my memory has me thinking Bobby Graham laid four on a plate for him, which he expertly despatched. Even if he scuffed the ball it would usually go in. Who could forget his winner against Sellick in the 3-2 win in the Scottish Cup when he latched on to Joe Wark's punt? 0-2 at half time, too. Happy days.....
I recently had an idea to travel to Zambia next year and take unwanted Football equipment to give to the local communities. The idea has really taken off and I have collected around 30 full suitcases of used strips, boots, goalie gloves and balls.
I would love to collect as many unwanted Motherwell strips/ tshirts as possible and donate them to one village and have a claret and amber village the photo alone would be amazing.
I have a full set of 1992 Hummel away kits to take out with me.
There was a story in the Hibs programme re my charity and was also on MFC Podcast.
The MFC podcast has been a great help and together we may do a kit drive in the cooper bar at a home game to do a collection and possibly raffle a matchworn 1972 well top framed and signed by Willie Pettigrew.
I cant upload any pictures but have a look on my Facebook for pictures and updates

The MFC podcast has also offered my Charity Pepe's Zambia Football Foundation be named shirt sponser for Jermain Hyltons away top which is great. We are still a bit short on getting to the total needed so for £5 you can still enter the draw, if you win the draw you get one of Hylton or Seedorf away shirt and a place at the player of year dance. After the last few weeks they are probably the best shirts to win. I'm sure Andy will post a link for you to follow.
Please get in touch if you want to donate any strips I'm happy to collect, I will update on this thread when I plan to do a kit collection there may also be a drop off in the club shop in near future.
Thanks
Wind forward to 14 Sept 2019 @ 5.00pm and read the above. Lessons to be learned for some on here I think. Not saying there won't be more tough times ahead/blips on the road but Orinoco's got it spot on. Back our players, give them confidence and I'm sure this current group will deliver more good times than bad, with some pretty attractive football thrown in too. Biggest issue this year will be holding on to Robbo.
My, my, how the fickle tide of fan opinion changes! A few weeks ago, Seedorf and Hylton were being singled out as a pair of duds - without being given the time and opprtunity to settle into a new club and country's culture.
Admittedly its still early days but IMO they have shown they have the required skills and application to be successful for us. They provide a really exciting dimension that is great to watch and the like of which hasn't been seen at FP for quite some time. Long may it continue.
How many 'Well fans would have taken this record after playing 14 games?
Won 10, Lost 3 (Crusaders, Celtic & Hearts), Scored 38 goals (ok, so 7 were v Gretna), Conceded 11 (5 v Celtic), scored 4 per game on two occasions and scored 3 per game on 6 occasions.
I'm not getting carried away, but particularly after yet another squad rebuild, the manager & players have given us something to enjoy and to look forward to more good days than bad.
Thoughts and best wishes to you and the family Frazzle. Didnt know your dad but recognised his face from round Fir Park. Having lost my old man prematurely a good few years back, I will be eternally grateful to him for giving me my love of our wee diddy club. I hope you get the same comfort that I get every time I visit Fir Park. Its a shared bond that can never be broken. All the best mate.
Every one of us was fleeced be in no doubt. Pensioner concessions were £21 . In no scenario is charging fans £29 for an SPFL game acceptable , it's utterly disgraceful. All it does is up the ante. Clubs see Hearts getting away with it and it becomes the norm because we will no doubt retaliate in the reverse fixture. Most punters are not getting pay rises above 1% but a Football club thinks a ticket price rise of 18% from last season to this is acceptable. Dick Turpin at least wore a mask.
The great thing about Wullie P is that, when you look at the highlights on youtube, he's still as good as I remember. Which isn't always the case when you reminisce wearing C&A tinted spcs.
I think he’s turned out to be the real surprise of this season, when I first saw this strong, athletic, positive player I thought maybe it was not the same players given pelters before he even played a game on the back of very poor feedback from supporters of his previous club. Gallagher was always going to e a good signing and Polworth just continues to improve. But Carroll could actually end up being a real find and we may end up struggling to hold on to him.
A broken clock is correct twice a day too...
Believe it or not, not hearsay, the story came from the agent.
For me? Settling well in a progressive team, very much a modern full-back.
A win at Tynecastle? I will take that every day of the week and twice on Sunday, thanks very much! I am more than old enough to remember the period in the eighties and early nineties when we couldn’t buy a win against Hearts. From the game at Tynecastle where a Willie Irvine goal and a Killie thumping of QoS cost them promotion from the old first division (1982?) until the mid nineties I can scarcely recall a good result against that mob. I think we did beat them at Fir Park in the season they lost the league on the final day at Dens, but beyond that, nothing.
As it stands, three more points towards safety, and nothing more. We seem to be having our good run ( virtually every team in the league will have one) early this season. Let’s make it last as long as possible.
