  1. He has had a chance to amend his mistakes! We were fucking horrific last season from Jan onwards, and after the manager being backed to the hilt, we look WORSE! Robinson should go! And take that fucking idiot Foyle with him. That cunt has the easiest job in football, sitting in his living room in Newcastle reading the local paper to see what pub league shite is scoring a few goals in the English 17th division north then signing them for us.

  2. It's worth a go.. We have shite wingers, so bench them and our strikers are shite on their own, so pair them up

  9. Lose to Glentoran and he should fall on his sword. That said this is a Manager that helped us avoid relegation when he took over. Got us to 2 cup finals in a season for only the second time in our entire history. Got us finishing 3rd when there were 4 or 5 teams with bigger budgets. No one argued much when we retained Watt and re-signed Long. Bringing back Hastie seemed like a decent option. And White for all he has been average was ICT top goalscorer for a couple of seasons. I am not ashamed to admit I am a big Robbo fan. I think he as done a good job up until this year. I would be sorry to see him go but the forward players need to understand they are in the last chance saloon. No-one underperforming for us will get a better move. I know it is a parallel universes but I see some goals being scored / conceded and we have not had that kind of luck. Shots bouncing around and going in of a deflection or own goal. We have carried fuck all luck. Yes you make your own but not much has gone in our favour so far.

  10. Tommy Wright? You just want another Irishman so you can still roll out your Blarney Stone kisser line every three weeks.

  11. Campbell, Turnbull, Hastie, Scott and Maguire are all Scotland U21 internationalists that have played for Motherwell over the last two years. That's five alone. McKinstry and McAlear have been snapped up by an English Premiership side and one that twelve months down the line was. They are two of the players that would likely be added to that list. Off the top of my head, and whilst their numbers may have been limited Livingstone, Devine, Cornelius, MacLean and Semple have all come through the youth system and played in the first team over the last two or three years. The players that have come through the Academy and played over the last three years could quite conceivably generate something like £10,000,000 in tranfers and add-ons. I think your constant banging the drum for youth development is noble but you are miles out in terms of what has already been delivered by the Academy and to repeat my response when you made much the same point a week ago, I think it is unrealistic bordering on the naive to expect eleven youth team players who are first team ready to slot in at a moments notice.

  12. Unfortunately thats just not true for Robbo. Burrows will never sack him in a million years! We could be bottom of the table in January having lost 18 games in a row and some (him included) would be shouting "aye but we made 2 cup finals a few years ago!" Robinson is in charge until Robinson decides he doesnt want to be, at which time Lasley will be in charge and "we go again"

  13. Can you run through the chances we’ve had in the other games? Or even today would be good.

  14. Robinson should be sacked! He has watched how poor we were in Jan/Mar, had a transfer window where he was backed to the hilt, and we are a disorganised shambles and if anything look WORSE than the latter part of last season. 2 wins from 14 and no wins this season is an utter fucking disgrace. However, scout extraordinaire Foyle will still be here, and Las will be the new manager so whats the point in sacking Robinson? Its just replacing clueless shite with more clueless shite. We either need to rip out everything, root and stem, or just keep Robbo and save any compo money for another fucking useless "striker" who can "play all across the front 3" Glentoran are a pub team who we should be beating by several goals, unfortunately its guaranteed we will scrape a 1-0 or maybe an extravagant 2-0 and the rest of the shite this season will be forgotten and the slate will be wiped clean cause weve won a fucking game.

  15. I think that’s how it works, individual play or something worked out.

  16. the issue over the last 12 months is other teams know exactly how to play against us. Initially teams played higher up the park and we countered, they've learned to sit in and we can't actually get past their frontline - unless Turnbull does something. I don't believe the stikers are the total problem - we're not working the keeper as we don't create real chances . My frustration is for 15 games or so now we've persevered with a formation that doesn't work. A few subtle changes could make a big difference.

  17. Cole also. Even though he didn't score as many goals as Long last season he was still the better option to play in that position. He was strong, held the ball up, was decent in the air and could bring others into the game. Then we had Scott who could run with the ball, had some real skill, energy and was always looking to carry the ball forward and try the unexpected. We are lacking both those types right now.

  18. Turnbull was the best player on the park by a mile but you need two to tango and right now his dance partners are away to the lavvy.

  19. You need the forwards to make runs to drag defenders out of position to create space for others or for midfields to make the telling pass Today our so call wingers just stayed out wide and offered nothing and nothing stuck with Whyte nor was he able to hold the ball up So So easy to defend against

  20. The laddie from Hamilton created two great chances from 3 attempts. A far better ratio than turnbull

  21. Stop going back to finishing 3rd last year, that was because of a good start. The last part of last season and the beginning of this have been terrible, and most managers with that record would have been fired. When you put the transfer season on top of that it just has to be down to the board and it's lack of vision and expectations. I can imagine if this was a normal season, that our crowds would be well down. When Turnbull is away we're in deep trouble.

  22. We weren’t even unlucky. We just never created any real clear “ should score” chances. On the other hand I think Accies has a few “how the hell did he miss” chances.

  23. I agree he has fucked the transfer window, not for the first time by the way. However the transfer window isn't over so it's down to Robinson to admit his mistakes and bring someone in. If he doesn't do that then I think his job will very much be in jeopardy in the near future but I think he at least deserves a chance to amend his mistakes.

  24. Turnbull continues to impress even playing in this team and on current form. I’d expect a big club will come in and take him for a good fee. To be considered by Burrows.. Without DT are we at risk of relegation? Should the board trust Robinson to source replacements?

  25. We are nowhere near a relegation battle in August and are not detached. We are one win away from Top 6. The run of poor form is concerning, especially as Robinson had a close season to fix it, but there is still plenty time for the manager to change it and turn it around. If he doesn't do that then you have to look at it but we aren't at that stage yet. To be fair to Robinson we've been in worse positions before and we've got out of it so right now we just need to be a bit more patient and see what transpires. 5 or 6 matches down the line with a full round of matches played is when you start assessing it and like I said bringing in a player rather than a manager, for me, would have more effect. Do you think a new manager gets goals out of Long, Watt, White? If so, he'd be changing the habits of a life time.

  26. We were the fourth leading scorers in the league last season, one goal behind third, regardless of who scores or how they score that’s an actual fact. Look I get that people are upset, so am I but Robinson did see us finish third last season, another fact. He’s not suddenly become clueless and the players have not suddenly become useless. We are dominating possession, making lots a chances and not exactly getting thrashed by teams. Lots of if’s and buts even a fraction of those shots goes in and we are comfortable mid-table or better. I don’t buy the argument that it was obvious to everyone bar Robinson that we were weak up front, many on here including me though we had more than enough quality, they have simply not performed. My worry was the defence and they have made poor decisions which have cost us points, but even then we are losing by just the odd goal because we can’t score. I’m personally not a fan of Mugabi but think other that that with Carroll back we have a back four and goalkeeper that have more than enough. I don’t like O’Hara playing so deep, does not work for me but even given that we again have more than enough quality in that area, I would get Polworth back in who does create chances for others. End of the day every manager is judged on results and it’s probably going to be 2 points from the first 18 which is going to leave Robinson under severe pressure, for me however he’s earned more time to turn it around.

  27. Accies were well coming in to the game long before Campbell went off, but the subs never helped for sure

  28. For all the positive press that our midfield get, we are creating next to nothing in terms of making chances

  29. I have been a fan and defended him but in my opinion it is time for a change. We have a decent squad but we are so predictable and so many out of position. Who we get I dont know but I fear the worst if we stick with Robbo

  30. That should be the end of the manager. 8 forwards and they are all shite
    1 point
  31. Nothing up front sadly. Substitutes also very ineffective when they came on. Then once we took Campbell off it just handed midfield to Accies and there was only ever going to be one team scoring after that.

  32. Actually we deserved 3 points and like all the games before this season were the better team for the most part. But we have nothing up front or out wide and so we can play all fkin year long like that and we will still lose most games. Top 6 - like most starting to believe we are already in a relegation battle. One we are probably ill equipped to win.

  42. With Accies sitting in we need to spend less time passing the ball in front of them and more time hitting the by-line to get some crosses in.

  43. same as most weeks to be honest. We have majority of ball but little cutting edge. I can't see how playing the same formation every week will produce anything different to what we've seen in the last few games.

  45. Which would make sense. Moving is a huge undertaking that takes years and will cost a fortune for any half decent stadium. I also worry about moving out of the centre of Motherwell and would rather we upgraded Fir par with a new main stand along the lines of the one at Falkirk. I know the club state it costs a fortune to keep the existing stadium going and it’s a lot easier to suggest a new stand than the actual reality of building one but I just hate new out of town stadium.
