  1. Just had a look, we are 3 points off 5th place. Certain relegation...... jesus wept!

  2. Seeing as we have essentially disbanded the Academy / Reserve teams, and sold anybody capable of actually controlling and passing a football, there ISNT anybody left! Maybe in 2-3 years. But for now, once Campbell goes we have a couple seasons at least with a team full of non league journeymen from Martin Foyles back yard to look forward to

  3. All of our wins have come since Turnbull left, if Campbell goes the sky’s the limit.

  4. I've watched every competitive game so far this season apart from Hibs and I honestly can't remember a Motherwell player getting on the end of a corner. With big Peter gone, has our goal threat at set pieces dried up completely?

  5. Maybe it’s over egging it a little but the reality (or close to), is that between the two European ties, we will net close to 400k. Given that stadium costs were absolutely minimal for the first game and travel costs are a bare minimum for the second, it should leave us with a profit not a kick in the arse away from 300k, if the UEFA numbers discussed elsewhere on the forum are to be believed. Having re-watched the highlights and in the cold light of day, yesterday was absolutely dross (more so that at the time). We were crap for the vast majority. We’ve actively managed to sign worse players than last Term. Nothing against the guys personally but neither White nor Lamie should be anywhere near a team challenging for the top 6 (or at least with the intention of). We’ve got 3 wingers in the squad, none of whom are playing due to crap performances and we are absolutely blunt middle to front. We’ve all seen some duds at Fir Park, but this squad takes a bit of beating with the sheer volume. We’ve come into a substantial amount of cash given the Turnbull move which will fill a gap due to lack of match day revenue and will hopefully go towards a big infrastructure project to get everyone behind. The flip side is that As supporters, you pay money to watch a good team on the park. In immortal words which I’ve not uttered at Motherwell since the dark days of Admin, it is time for the board to get the Cheque book out. A blind man with a cork leg could tell you that this squad has got relegation strugglers written all over it. Creaming in cash from European ties and a big player sale will mean nothing in the championship and we need to be proactive in avoiding the doomsday scenario. We’re badly lacking a senior leader in the squad and a number 10. I’m not saying we break the bank but doing nothing isn’t an option.

  7. This just isn't true. Turnbull, Scott, Hastie, Campbell etc have all come through under Robinson and flourished. If they were good enough and ready for the first team, he'd be playing them.

  8. tbh I quite enjoyed the odd few moments of Verizon advertising to take my mind off just how bad the game was.

  9. All this chat about how we are heading for certain relegation got me thinking about what fans of other clubs are saying about their team so I took a couple of hours to scrawl through all the forums of RossCo,St Mirren et al and guess what? They are saying the same things about their teams that we’re saying about ours. Truth of the matter is that the quality of our League this season is crap and every team in the bottom 8 are as bad as each other. Whether that is down to the unusual circumstances with Covid or not I don’t know but not having the usual build up to games and the lack of match atmosphere might be having a negative effect on every team.

  10. It wasn’t brilliant but points were vital. Having lots of possession means little if you can’t score , as we have found out. I didn’t think they ever cut us open bar Lamie’s assists. They swung over plenty crosses but our defence dealt with them , that’s what they’re meant to do . yep, there’s a bit to do but I rather have the points than 60 % possession, Robbo said as much , thst we allowed them the ball and hit on the break.

  11. It was fine before all you free loading season ticket holders joined us. (TBF, it's fine for me now too. Apart from the brief outages yesterday, my streams have been rock solid despite having a less than stellar internet speed).

  12. I think we need to settle on a starting front 2 (or 3) and stick with it for a few games. Starting with a different line-up every week isn't doing anyone any favours. You won't find consistency with an inconsistent team selection.

  13. It’s not if but when regardless of how much we offer him, that the nature of Motherwell, we develop players and try to maximise the transfer fee when they leave. I don’t agree that selling him means certain relegation, no player is bigger than the club and it’s about reinvesting a portion of the fee in other players. We are clearly short in certain areas with midfield being pretty poor this season in my view. Ideally I would like to see another centre half through the door along with an out and out striker with an eye for goal but that costs. I still believe we have plenty of quality in the squad although losing Turnbull is obviously a blow even though we all knew it was coming. We have not suddenly become the worst team in the league, we should certainly have had more points so I don’t buy this relegation certainties line a few games in.

  16. If we go out on Thursday I've no doubt Campbell will move on very quickly. The new manager will have to sign at least 4 players due to the quality of Robinsons signings which as somebody has already posted have been worse than in previous which is amazing

  17. As I said in previous post we could double or even triple what we paying Campbell and it would come nowhere near what he could earn at Stoke The Wee Man has been more than fair with the club and more than deserves his chance of a decent move if it comes along

  18. The bottom line is that we won yesterday and that brought a sense of relief. So in some respects it was job done. We're also not adrift at the bottom. But, thats as far it it goes. As others have said the game was a mirror image of matches we've lost this season. Saints dominated possession (59%/41%), created/were gifted 5 chances and took none. We fashioned one, just one, chance ourselves, although Callum Davidson disagreed I believe as he would, and took it. Saints dominated midfield despite us trying to play 3-5-2, looked more committed and competitive and worked harder off the ball than we did but fortunately looked toothless in front of goal as Trevor Carson will gratefully tell you. For long spells our midfield was outfought and anonymous. Whether we tried to sit on our lead on our lead or not I don't know. We certainly missed McGinley when he went off. Saints were gifted the freedom of our left flank late on and slung over cross after cross from there. Thankfully Gallagher and Mugabe were up to the task, although the latter was a bit overly clever at times. He has stepped up to the mark though. Overall, the defence, especially Lamie looked shaky at times, but in fairness they received little support from either Campbell or O'Hara. Polworth was largely anonymous throughout and created nothing. Allan Campbell scored a lovely goal and was far better going forward than defending. I did feel sorry for strikers as they were given nothing to work with and the promised crosses into the box just didn't materialise. Credit to White for soldiering on, but I really think he should have been taken off, before he was. Our build up was slow, tiresome and very predictable. I still feel that our problems lie primarily in midfield where things just aren't happening. Hylton is injured, I think, but in any event our wingers aren't doing it. With the cash coming into the club just now I'm not in favour of spunking it on more players but I'd give Robbo a wee bit to bring in a solid defensive midfielder on loan until January. That shouldn't break the bank.

  19. You can buy as many strikers as you want but if we can’t get the ball to them inside the box then you’re wasting money.

  20. If Campbell were to be sold we will have officially gone full frontal Dundee United.

  21. Do not want to see Campbell go but he has done the right thing by the club and signed 2 contract extensions Even if we doubled his wages it would come nowhere near what he could earn at a Championship club like Stoke Personally I think the wee man has earned it

  22. I must be in the minority because my stream is generally fine. Refresh/choose another player 2 or 3 times a game at most. Not missing a lot.

  23. I would probably be described by some on here as a happy clapper but I found today quite depressing. We got a perfect start but did not kick on from there. Our performance was no better than v Livi Accies or DU. No pace in our team going forward. The lack of quality wingers has forced us onto 3-5-2. Hastie was a mistake and Hylton and Seedorf are no more than impact subs. Scott on one side to get us up the park and the speed of Cole or Aaron's or Gboly on the other is what we are missing. Unless there are changes I see a relegation battle ahead. One positive was that Robinson often maligned for his subs got them right today. The game was slipping away from us and he saw the problem and shored up the midfield.

  24. I don't know if there will be anything on our own channel or whether this will be the sole place to watch but BBC NI are streaming the game on Thursday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/54116449

  25. An important win. Not massively dissimilar to some of the games that have gone against us Fir Park this season and nor in fact that dissimilar to when we sneaked a 1-0 against St Johnstone around this time last year. We couldn't have asked for a better start with Campbell's well taken goal. I can't really think of too many opportunities carved out to extend the lead but then they didn't exactly overwork Trevor Carson either with the biggest threat to Motherwell conceding today being Motherwell ourselves. Saints certainly did have spells of pressure, particularly in the second half but for the most part I thought we looked pretty comfortable (again self-harm attempts aside). Of course there remain concerns. There wasn't a great deal of evidence of the getting crosses into the box that Robinson spoke of pre-match and we are still not looking as dangerous as we might when we get a set piece but it's a win and something to build on, even if we still find ourselves a the foot of the table.

  26. The streaming of games is bringing a fresh aspect to the Scottish game. I assume Euan Anderson added 9 and a half additional minutes at the end to make up for the time that my stream was down?

  27. If that's true we need a top to bottom clear out. It's a recipe for corruption
