  1. Getting rid of the plastic in the top flight is the main thing for me regardless of the club. Never seen a really good game at Accies or Livi.

  2. Probably, they are a shitey club with no fans, shithole of a stadium, and one of the worst pitches in Scotland, they bring nothing to the premiership, so the sooner they are back in the lower leagues the better. The dream finish to the season for me is Accies finishing in 12th and Killie in 11th and getting g pumped in the playoff, gets rid of 2 shit pitches at once. Oh and Ross County is a good away day.

  3. Given the way they dealt with the Covid breach, the SFA would probably end up awarding St Mirren a 1 - 0 win for Crawford's handball.

  4. Hope someone has emailed a copy of the video to the Compliance Officer (if it's not too late that is).

  5. Same here. I just didn't get it. At that point in the game and sitting a good few goals up why not give a youngster a chance?

  6. A few posters have covered my thoughts already already. Given Alexander's comments when he first came in that there we do have a decent squad but it's fuckin massive, and the fact he's got us sitting 5th in the form table tells me we'll keep the core of this squad, reduce numbers and try bolster with some quality instead of quantity. How the academy fits into this I don't know.

  7. I’m with you, there is a player ( and a very good one at our level) in Long. But we’ve got to play him in his right position As you rightly say in the 2nd half on Saturday he looked a totally different player from that of the 1st half. WHY …… we went to 2 up front and this is where Long comes into his own ……… how many times since he came here has he been played in a 2 up top ??? Playing as a lone striker or on the wing in a front 3 just does not suit him and he seems to loose interest

  8. I’d expect development will change as recruitment method changes. The bulk of our development group aren’t contracted so interested to see the wastage, natural and enforced. Shipped out those who felt needed the experience & decided others development was best served around the first team but, haven’t offered game time - that’s a false economy. Before the usual suspects downcry that ideal - I’m well aware of the position we’re in and the variables involved. It’s a fine balance, taking Fortmartine as an example we decided at 4 and 5 nil up to introduce a loan player, an ageing short term deal who’d offered us 7 minutes previously then Lamie was given appearance money. For a club who advocates a clear pathway, they certainly aren’t practising what’s preached.

  9. I'm hoping we replace all the players that aren't as good with players that are better.

  10. I think 80% of next year’s squad is already at the club. A small number of ‘quality’ players should be added. Trying to build something from a solid core will be easier than trying to get 11 new mercenaries to gel.

  11. Fantastic bit of business, we would have been very lucky to have attracted anyone better.

  12. Stephen O'Donnell is a solid SPL level full back. Not a world beater, and against higher quality opposition he can get found out at times. However, anyone who thinks there is a queue of superior players lined up waiting to sign on at Fir Park needs a reality check. This is very good business for the club, not just from a playing perspective, but in raising or at least maintaining our profile as a club who can help players progress their careers. It may help attract some decent palyers in the summer.

  13. It's only right Scottish football pays its respects. Andrew's been a big fan of the Juniors for years, apparently.

  14. Very much this. The SFA will remember when Diana died and the heat that came their way when they didn't fall into line quick enough to move Scotland v Belarus to the Sunday. Whilst we live in a Union under a Monarch (if that's the correct turn of phrase) then I don't think it unreasonable to broadly follow the protocols that are in place when a senior member of the Royal family pass away. And if that means sporting events require to move a few hours or the day or before or after then so be it. That said if you no longer wish to be part of that Union and perhaps even desire a loosening of the attachment to the Monarchy thereafter there's a process on 6th May that some argue that will be the starting point for such a future. EDIT: Largely what numpty said more concisely about four posts ahead of me! EDIT EDIT: And GazzyB thereafter!!
