As above the target was met within the first few hours, the remainder of funds raised will go to the season ticket initiative. The badges also sold out just shows how well he was thought off.5 points

I think we need to remember that the team are still coming together...that front 3 have never played together and Slattery is only playing his 2nd game up here, and playing beside a guy who has had a full year out on the treatment table. I wont be making any judgements until we've played at least 10 games. In contrast, St Johnstone have a settled side and theyve been settled for years now. Wotherspoon, Craig, Davidson, May, OHalloran , McCann all played for them for years and theyve a very settled defence as well. Won both cups and just took a draw away to galatasaray...they're a good side. That said, I hate the formation we play, 3 up front with no real width and players that dont look comfy playing wide of a striker...the midfield 3 are so narrow and that will only work if the full backs are competent going forward...which I'm not sure they are.3 points

To be fair, Donnelly looks just that… a defender trying to be a midfielder even when fully fit. Just a little more disciplined than others I could mention. Doesn’t offer enough protection to the back 4 for me. I’m not sure I buy the 4-3-3 formation puts the midfield under pressure. It’s a variation on many eg, 4-5-2 and 4-2-3-1. Requires your front 3 or variations of to get touches & that’s not just the midfield to provide. Good teams are built from the back. I’d settle for making ourselves harder to beat in the next few weeks.2 points

Great ball from Lawless …… maybe some on here will now cut him some slack2 points

I thought we were rank fucking rotten for 70 minutes today, Lamie & Slattery aside. Time and time again Mugabi picked up the ball and at the slightest hint of pressure on him he would just fuckin launch it up the park to absolutely nobody. We have a front three with a bit of quality now (although they barely showed it today), it must be so frustrating for them to be constantly chasing balls over the top that St Johnstone mopped up all day long. Maguire was anonymous today and Donnelly was very poor. We need O'Hara to return or to sign a decent central midfielder pronto. As for the decision to start Shields who has had no pre-season games but leave Ojala on the bench, a strange one from Alexander. Credit where it's due though to him for making the changes. Hopefully Lawless can kick on from today.1 point

I have to disagree sorry! The issue with both full backs comparatively to watching the Dundee United game is that both full backs ALLOW crosses into the box.1 point

He certainly did improve towards the tail end of the season, ironically enough when his ex Livi teammate Gallagher played less games. A coincidence perhaps but he looked an absolute bombscare for the first part of the season when alongside Gallagher in defence.1 point

Lamie's change in form at end of laat season was one of the reasons we stayed up1 point

Midfield isn't good enough. Nothing to do with bedding in. Also need defensive strengthening.1 point

He is rank rotten and always has been...Lamie was up there as man of the match for me1 point

I'm not sure if it's the tactics, the personnel or both, but right now we are leaving ourselves exposed on both wings.1 point

Full time 1-1. Happy with that to be honest. Not a great performance but getting our first point on the board for the season is important. A very well taken goal from Watt and but for a few cracking saves from Clark we could have sneaked it. Midfield and defence are still a major issue but it’s early days and we still have time to address those areas. All in all, a good result.1 point

Considering Slattery was the only midfielder … … A draw is not a bad result1 point

He had time to take a touch and go for a quick pint before netting it.1 point

We've had a couple of good moments going forward but the same old frailties at the back have cost us.1 point

I'd be amazed if we sign another central defender... ...Mugabe, Lamie, Ojala, OConnor, Devine are all centre backs to trade...and we also have Donnelly, OHara and Maguire who have player there for us before1 point

Pretty sure I seen big Rooney outside Anzars in mossend last night. Got me thinking they might rest a few players for the Europa League game if he's back down the road. It's no a massive drive up but a big dirty kebab the night before a game mibby isn't the best idea if he's playing.1 point

Doesn't matter what any other team does. We need to be taking care of our own business and not worrying about what we can't control.1 point
