  1. Seems Alan Campbell has been more of a hit with the Luton players and fans than we thought https://www.lutontoday.co.uk/sport/football/luton-town/town-duo-campbell-and-naismith-win-big-at-lutons-end-of-season-awards-night-3685668

  3. Despite all the recent whining, moaning and complaining about lack of “silky soccer”, I really don’t think anyone gives a toss how we play in this game as long as we win. COYW!!! I hope we get a good crowd there to loudly get behind the team and cheer them on. I’ll be home in August for a few weeks and I want to see a European game. Never seen them play in European competition. Closest was the Texaco Cup.

  4. As much as I loved him, I didn’t think Alan would make it down there, and if he did it would take a good few years. To go down there and be part of a team to make the playoffs against all odds and win awards in the process in his first season is incredible. I’m absolutely delighted for him.

  5. Maybe but I still think most managers are far too cautious about giving players a chance. For me you'll never know unless you give players first team football. There have been lots of youth hotshots that do nothing in the men's game but I think it works the other way too. There are players at youth level that only reach their potential when they start playing 'real' football. And I've said this many times, not every youth graduate needs to be 'Turnbull' level. The standard of the league is pretty poor so if players can come in at 18, 19 and compete and then gain experience and improve over the years that's good enough. I think some times we focus on bringing through sellable assets rather than players that are going to serve the club.

  6. We were top six scorers in the league and have scored 17 more goals this season than St Johnstone. This and the 'tombola' are two very tired memes.

  7. Stephen O’Donnell is as good a full-back as we’ve had at the club for a long time. The guy gets picked for regularly for Scotland and has rarely if ever had a bad game. When he’s dropped he never complains and you never hear anything bad about him. In short, a model pro. Sure he’ll have some poor games. All players do. Even the late great Joe Wark wasn’t perfect in every game. He’s the best full-back at the club by a mile and the fans need to recognise it and get behind him.

  8. Ah, that would be hilarious. I won’t be going to or watching our Celtic game under any circumstances… but if we beat Hearts to create the scenario of Ross County needing a win against United to put them into 6th… it would make that match unmissable!

  9. Overall League Record V Hearts P136; W54; D24; L58 I really, really love it when we beat them - I still haven’t gotten over that Texaco Cup game.

  11. Point 1 also had a knock on effect on point 2 this season. But as some people have pointed out, Some of the longer term contracts handed out don’t necessarily align with point 2 planning?

  12. Watt was good for us when he was here and if it weren’t for his goals in the first half of the season then I dread to think where we’d currently be sitting. I think we were also a good match for him after being at several clubs over the years without settling anywhere. Sadly though he did as all players do and chased the bigger pay cheque and that’s why he’s gone. No hard feelings toward him from me, he was good for us while he was here but he’s past tense now.

  13. The thing is, managers never sign players they don't think are quality and that they don't think will improve the team. As every team in the world knows, you have no real idea of how a player will fit into your team until you start playing them. It doesn't matter if you are Tony Watt (who fans doubted) or Paul Pogba (who is world class, but not at Man U). However, now that GA has had a full season in the Premiership and better knows how he wants to play and what level is required to compete, I expect like most posters on he we'll see a pretty drastic overhaul in the summer. Having said that, I didn't think we were "inept" yesterday. I wouldn't claim we were playing free flowing football, but in our last 2 games against our closest rivals (both away from home) we lost one to a jammy goal and won the other while keeping a clean sheet. We were pretty solid and dug in when we needed at the end when County threw everything at us knowing their season probably depended on it. The one plus is we're being average in the right half of the table. Let's just win on Wednesday and then start the summer clear out.

  15. Hopefully KVV can cut out the stupid cheap bookings moving forward, I know in some eyes he can do no wrong but I do find him very frustrating at times, but no doubt when on form he is so key for us, couple of goals today please KVV

  16. I'm willing to give it another go next season. I think the quality of the squad individually is better with a team that really doesn't know how to get the ball down and pass, yet individually they have capabilities. 3 months max if we start badly.
