  1. So to summarize we have signed 4 guys on loan. 1) a left back which we badly needed and who looks like he will be a solid signing 2) a winger from Huddersfield on loan who was here before and knows what club is about. 3) a Leeds winger who is a diehard well fan and you know will give it everything while he is here and actually showed lovely touches on Wednesday 4) a legend first time around who again knows the club and will do his damnedest while here and hopefully chip in with a few goals. You know what, I know we all have our views but I personally am happy with the signings. COYWWWWWW

  2. They were ready to present Moult but then he got injured going up the stairs

  3. We are signing a guy who has only played the equivalent of 20x90 minutes in almost five years. If it was literally anyone else in the world other than Moult we would be up in arms.

  5. A day I seriously thought I'd never ever see, us actually putting they b.......ds out the cup. Next to the Cup Semi Final and Final the favourite Motherwell moment.

  6. Let's be honest, if we were getting the Louis of 4 years ago then no way would he be here on loan. However we were all desperate for another striker and we have got a guy who if you look at his Twitter account still has great love for our club. I hope it works out for him and he deserves all the time and patience. If it doesn't then he still gave me one of my best days as a well fan when we won league cup semi v gers ... COYW

  8. What if he is actually fit? He has been on the Burton bench since season start so that is positive. Why would they have him on the bench if he is crocked? Agree it would be a risk. But on the right terms it might be one worth taking. Can we maybe wait and see how he performs and how often before writing him off.

  9. I’d have extended Grimshaw’s stay too for you to vent your spleen.

  10. When Hammell was appointed I worried about recruitment which after all is one of the main roles of the manager, To recruit well a manager should have a high profile and lots of contacts in the game. My worry is that Stevie is not well known as he has been immersed in youth football and may not have the contacts and profile to attract players to the club. I feel this has been borne out by this transfer window. Only Penney has had no previous connection with the club. McKinstry is obviously someone he knows well, but how many more like him are ther? Aarons and Moult have been here before so know the club and that would be an attraction for them.

  11. You know I could actually attempt a new version of Billy Joel's "we didn't start the fire" with all the past players we have signed a 2nd time!!...lol

  12. Certainly was. Great to see a player joining with a big smile on his face. And from that video it appears he will be wearing No.21 this season.

  13. Well done SH. He's done well during this transfer window. Late to the party, most teams settled, had to rely on loans. Brought in 4 in the positions we need , all have potential to show that bit of quality that we needed and has offloaded Ojala. A lot of the squad were decent but in many ways quite ordinary players, some of these signings can give us a bit of spark. Deserves pretty high marks IMO.

  14. Just as well you are not in charge as we wouldn’t have had a certain Steven Hammell back with us!

  17. I have my doubts about every signing we make, but at least we know he was a good player - only question is, can he still produce it.

  18. I certainly hope it works out, but my head says it's a big risk. Disappointed grizzlyg didn't hit us with a "Motherwell gone for a Burton" though.

  22. It was always only on loan anyway. Rightful owner and all that. Moult would probably settle for 999 anyway. Just in case he needs to dial it.

  26. To set up similarly and expect same shows the naivety that saw us drop 3 points last week. Professional performance against a poor Inverness Caley team will have little bearing on Saturday’s match.

  27. Aarons has hardly kicked a ball in a year and your criticising his crossing ability from a 20 minute debut...seriously....!! SOD is getting what we pay him so what...he will be needed over the course of the season. Should we pay SOD off and get rid then bring in someone who is not so good just so you feel better about what we are paying them?. As for the striker? who knows who it is if it is indeed Moult. I am sure the club will ensure he will have passed a medical before he signs for us. There is a process and hardly a song and dance. You really make mountains out of mole hills.

  28. Great to see some intensity coming back into our play. It was desperately needed and is essential when going up against the big 2. Celtic do look quite formidable right now. To have any chamce of success we will need to try and match their work rate. Thankfully our fitness levels seem to be improving, and with the number of young players now coming into the squad, hopefully we have the replacements from the bench to maintain that level over 90 mins. Still a huge ask, but, as others have said, would just be nice to be competitive again.......

  29. Morris is utter shite, McGinn is a good signing but means we are paying SOD a healthy wage to sit on the bench and Arrons is a known quantity who's crossing is still horrendous. Going back further extending McGinley is still mystifying. Now we are apparently going to make a song and dance about bringing in a striker with the worst injury record in the UK.

  30. I'm not too disappointed we have got some potential out for first team games, we have a new left back and 2 wingers. We have a path for the best youngsters to come thru and some of the dead wood is off the books. What's not to like. Fails like mcginlay and carroll are out long term so i'll need to find another dud to vent my frustration at.

  31. I am amazed at the number of posters on this forum who think that players at other clubs have only to be asked to join Motherwell and order a taxi before the question is completed.

  32. Why was talking about snodgrass a mistake if the rumours were true he was only telling the truth ie that's a player he would like to sign, and if we made him an offer and he turned us down where's the problem give Hammell a chance ffs and stop looking for issues where there are none.

  33. I’m not too worried about that. I think our defense is good enough to handle most of the teams in our league if we now have a decent left back. I’m sure we’ll still get the odd blooper or slack moment but think we should be fine for the most part.

  36. No surprise, but still a shame. He really looked the part in his first couple of games but then - for whatever reason - it all went to shit. I hope things work out for him.

  37. We are yes. When you add in the horrible experience of having to play Celtic, encounter their supporters and have them swarming all over Fir Park and the surrounding area then it makes this draw an even less enticing prospect.

  38. 100 percent spot on.Same goes for Aaron's aswell folk would be up in arms questioning these signings if it say been Alexander. What's next Grimmy? He was out for a good 8 months. Long term injuries that these two have had serious ones at that are a major risk.Even to the point of they feel it could be out for weeks as precautions.
