I'm more than happy to deal in reality. We're a poor side, we didn't sign much quality in the summer, we look unlikely to bring much in during this window and our run without a win was the worst since Tommy McLean. I don't ignore or need to defend any of that. However, when folk claim we can't score, reality shows otherwise. Reality shows the non footballer Theo Bair's goal return has been on a par with or better than anyone else signed by any of our potential relegation rivals. And here's the bigger picture - all the pissing and moaning in the world won't change the fact Kettlewell is not getting sacked. We got that straight from the top a week ago, but it clearly didn't register with everyone.7 points

Feck me. Been away for a few days and had a quick look in here. Thought we had maybe been relegated to the Lowland League for financial mismanagement, our entire first team squad had emigrated to Australia or some Nigerian had emptied the Well Society bank account. Think I'll go away again.6 points

It's not necessarily our fault, but if we were 5th in the league playing free flowing football and he was developing he'd still more than likely be here. As it is we have 1 win in however many games and he spends half the game chasing trademark Stephen O'Donnell floaters into the channel all alone with minimal help. It's no wonder Arsenal recalled him. I can't believe I'm saying this, but our top flight status hangs on Theo Bair continuing his two match good form for the rest of the season. All the while we have a CEO or whatever he is focusing on a fucking YouTube video where some wee kid begs Taylor Swift for money. We've also got a great young left back really coming onto a game, and our young right back departs. What do we do? Sign another right back to fill that slot? Nope sign an identical left back to the one we already have. We are a fucking shambles. A fucking shambles.4 points

Absolute hammer blow to lose Biereth, the only quality attacking option we have. As others have said I have absolutely no faith in SK to bring in an adequate replacement in this window and his dismal transfer business last summer is going to get us relegated. This season cannot end quick enough. The end of this season may very well bring with it the end of our top flight status but if thatās whatās going to happen then we just need to deal with it however we can. There is literally nothing to look forward to between now and May. Our team is shite, our manager is out of his depth and relegation is looming.3 points

I don't know too much about him either other than he was highly rated when he first moved to england.I would rather we pursued this one than someone like halliday.2 points

We also signed a striker who has scored one goal less than our star loanee and as many or more goals than any player outwith Celtic, Rangers, Hearts and Aberdeen. It's amazing what we can choose to ignore when it comes to our own team.2 points

I'm looking forward to seeing who we get in and the game on Saturday... ketts seems a positive guy who doesn't do social media..you should try both2 points

While it's good to hear rumours, as it shows we're actively working on targets, stories like the Scott Fraser one always make me nervous. We've seen County bring in a couple today and Dundee adding a defender from Everton. Done deals. We get a story that we're in for a player as he desperately wants to get back to Scotland but we haven't agreed any deal and there are still 'hurdles'. It could be that his agent has been a busy man and every team in Scotland knew his status already but half-expecting to see Fraser and Craig Levein grinning as Fraser holds aloft a St Johnstone scarf in the next few days.1 point

tell me this WTF is a happy clapper ?? see some people defined on here as one, but fuck me its fans forum type thingy so not everybodys opinion is the same, and some people type shite, but if we all thought the same it would be boring as feck just asking for my pal whos as dour as fuck and wants to join to brighten his life up1 point

Yeah he was a decent player for them and considered a big prospect if I remember correctly. Iāve not followed his career so donāt know how things have gone for him since.1 point

No idea if he'd be any good or not, but at least he seems to have been playing regularly up until a few weeks ago and apparently wants to come here.1 point

Not going to say Im not concerned about Saturday, because I am. We could really do with a cup run to improve our finances and lower league opposition at home gives us a good chance for comfortable progression to the next round. I was confident that would be achieved even with a threadbare squad and the departures of Spencer and Wilko. However, the injury to Slattery and the departure of Biereth now make that more difficult than it might have been. As for the league though, can we not just wait for the window to be closed and assess our chances once we have seen what business has been done instead of pissing ourselves and forecasting Armageddon?1 point

Hear, here. Keep fighting the good fight bud. This place needs some sanity.1 point

Mika Biereth is offski, just have to move on. He turned out to be a great signing by the club - a bright spark in a difficult first half of the season. When you look at the real outstanding players that have departed during Stuart Kettlewell's reign to date (Max Johnston, Kevin Van Veen and Mika Biereth) - he's had a tough job on his hands. Always going to be difficult to replace players like these on our limited funds compared to many, if not most of the clubs in our league. It was great to watch them while we could. If you take the past season or 2 for example, I don't think many of the comparible teams have been fortunate enough to see players of this quality turning out for them and equally have not had to deal with the loss of such influential players (off the top of my head Regan Charles-Cook at RC, maybe Nicky Devlin at Livi). Hopefully there's another gem out there to be had..!1 point

This is the positive. Chances are there are very similar players in a load of the academies down south. The fact that we've taken a player and he's done well enough to get interest at a higher level will hopefully be a selling point for other teams if we want their players on loan...1 point

How much money do you think Biereth is on a week at Arsenal? How much do you think we were covering? How much more do you think Sheffield Wednesday would cover than we were? How little will that final number be in the grand scheme of things to Arsenal, a team in the latter stages of the Champions League this year? Saying that how we play and where we in the league are is "pish" and it's money related to a team as rich as Arsenal is just not true. Reiss Nelson on 20 grand a week, maybe. Biereth on 10% of that, not so much.1 point

If we lose on Saturday he'll have to go. Hopefully we have plans in place for signings if that happens.1 point

Iāve supported Motherwell FC for well over 30 years and I have no intention of stopping now, even if I do believe we are in dire straits. So I wonāt be going anywhere to support anyone else.1 point
-
Correct, but it's Motherwellās fault that theyāve signed so much shite that they've then had to rely on a loanee to keep their heads above water this season so far. And it looks like they've been blindsided by Arsenal, who are known for recalling players, which further suggests to me that they're at fault for now being short of strikers, currently. When you look at the whole, and not just the Biereth situation, it's all very amateurish.1 point

Very annoying to lose Mika, unless we can get some real quality in this window I really fear for us. I don't trust SK to get it right this window either. Yes he signed Biereth but has also signed a whole host of shite as well. I think we're fucked, I really do.1 point

I couldn't care less what Celtic fans thought of our signings. Davie Cooper was a rangers fan and he didn't turn out too bad1 point

I thought it was only part of the plan that also included things like developing players from the academy (and ones we signed) and selling them on. Regardless, the other options at the time were selling the club to a dodgy property developer or the infamous South American investors. I think Weir is spot on when it comes to UEFA development fees. If those were correctly adjusted to reflect current transfer market rates we'd be in a much stronger financial position now with the youngsters that moved on.1 point

Burrows surely has to take some responsibility for that given that he was the CEO. Yeah we've had a horrible run of injuries but Biereth is not Motherwell's only good player. He's exceptionally talented but he's not the only decent player we have. We've been in this position before many times and I genuinely wish we weren't again but if we go down so be it. Its happened to plenty of other SPL clubs.0 points
