  1. Why not just enjoy our first league win against Rangers in over twenty years? That’s three posts you’ve made since FT and every one about me. Come on man, there’s more important things to talk about tonight surely?

  3. Fantastic result. Just wanted to point out that Lennon Miller has played in 6 out of our 7 wins despite being out for a long spell. Coincidence? Don't think so.

  4. Correct, and were two of Rangers defeats not to Celtic ? (might be wrong but that's what I've got in my heed). I first started watching 'well in 72 ish and got my first ST in the 75/76 season (I think). First three games against the old firm were a 1-1 draw and 3-2 win against Celtic and a 3-1 win against Rangers. Would absolutely love to see these days come back but the way the game is geared now, i don't think we ever will. Every change tht's been made in my lifetime to make Scottish football more competitive has given bigger and bigger advantages to the Glasgow Uglies. I'd rather see them f*** off out of our leage and leave the rest of us to get on with a competitive league regardless of whatever level the world views us at.

  5. I’m sure they’ll both be as delighted as every other ‘Well fan is tonight. Incidentally this is the first time since these forums came into existence, firstly as welltrust.net and then steelmenonline that a league victory over Rangers has been discussed and celebrated. A big day all round!

  7. Absolutely! All these folk who say that beating one of the OF doesn’t matter and that’ it’s just another three points etc. Come on! Tell me that that doesn’t feel ten million times better than a win against Livi or Ross County!

  12. Honestly mate, you've had a hard-on for MJC since you got here. Enough is enough. Cut it out, or we'll need to look at moderating your posts.

  14. You get told as a kid you get hurt pulling out tackles. McAusland hung a leg in with studs up and turned his head away. Completely his own fault.

  16. Was a fine tackle. Clearly won the ball, strong challenge under control. You can’t stop dead after you tackle. Sometimes you get hurt and it’s not a foul.

  17. I really hope this is the beginning of a downward spiral for Clement. Virtually no credit given to the away team for a fantastic performance away from home and lambasting Casey for the tackle on Mcausland. Sour grapes.

  32. To anyone who is 35 , enjoy that win because if we go the same distance again you will be 62 like me before it happens again. That's how incredible that result was today. If someone had told me the day Owen Coyle and Mickey Weir scored to beat them 2-0 I'd be 62 before it happened again I'd have ordered a straight jacket for them. Better Motherwell teams than this one haven't sniffed a win at Ibrox so everyone at the club should saviour every minute . I know the fans will.

  33. There was a time where we went 4/ 5 seasons and Celtic only beat us 3 times.

  34. ah yodo my old arguing friend, so you are warming to SK ? i also thought his tactics were spot on, right subs at the right time, vale is a player leaves feck all on the park he emptys his tank then we get fresh legs, also yung miller was had a good game couple of stray passes but basically always tried a forward pass and put in a shift. also kelly with saves we know he can make but also brainfarts we know he can make , all in all GREAT result, only problem is weve now possibly helped the other arse cheek that stole our point last week

  44. Blaney at left (wing) back, the rest of the defence to stay the same, minimal changes.

  45. Our record in the league at Ibrox is dreadful. Only 9 wins (and 19 draws) in 137 visits. Better ‘Well sides than the current one haven’t been able to win there so it would be no disgrace to lose. As always, hoping otherwise. COYW.

  46. When I say football people I mean people who can take the club forward in terms of on the pitch. The club needs some fresh eyes from a business and financial perspective. Tell me if we want to compete and keep hold of our better players or sign some quality players how can we do that on our current model.
    1 point
  47. Exactly. Also we have to be aware that any party with a controlling interest has many different options for extracting cash from the club. The Indonesian/Australian bid which is being offered supposedly involves advanced scouting software which no doubt the club would have to pay to use. It's easy enough to put money in with one hand and take it back out with another. A good example of this is Mike Ashley at Rangers getting them to sign a merchandise deal with Sports Direct that basically robbed them of millions.

  48. £333,000 a year for 6 years for the controlling interest of the club. Utterly ridiculous. If this is true and McMahon and Weir are genuinely pushing for it then serious questions need to be asked.
