  1. Last home game they were singing 'Fuck the Police' when at that very moment the police were getting bricked and assaulted protecting the most vulnerable people in society from fascists and racists. Embarrassing and genuinely shameful. A bunch of daft wee boys who are entitled up to their ears and never had any adversity in their lives. The problem with these Ultra groups is their unbelievable sense of self importance when they represent a small minority of the support. For most of the time I've supported Motherwell that end section was empty and it didn't make a jot of difference to me. Support the club sure, no one has a problem with that, but if you break the law by your own volition at least be big boys about it instead of whiny kids.

  2. Also today such a great victory as tomorrow is 10 years since my dad passed away, huge well fan and reason I became a well fan even though a hamilton lad born and bred. He would have loved that today โค๏ธ

  3. That's the biggest difference. The fact that he was involved with Scotland seemed to blind a lot of people to the fact that Kelly was the worst goalie in the league by a fair distance last season. Some of the stuff he was doing was absolutely mental and teams were aware of how much of a liability he was and targeted him. Big Aston should have been given a chance much earlier.

  5. Let the boycotters boycott, and the supporters support. Viva Motherwell.

  6. A great afternoon to be a Well fan. I was sorry therefore that the Bois weren't there. They were a huge loss in terms of atmosphere. I know they overstep the mark at times and do things they shouldn't. I get that. However, they may have some grounds for complaint I don't know. I'm sure there's more to this than most of us old buffers know. I just hope therefore that they get together with the club and sort matters out. That may require compromise on both sides. Has the Society a role to play in mediation? Get it sorted folks!

  7. Looking at that line up makes me think Kettlewell's not got long left.

  8. What a shame it would be if hearts were to continue their bad run of results into todays game ๐Ÿ™„

  9. Doormen, stewards, police. Bit of a common theme running there isnโ€™t there? Now either they are extremely unlucky and as they say being picked on and singled out for unfair treatment by people in these types of rolesโ€ฆ.or they simply have a massive chip on their shoulder and have an issue with authority and being told they canโ€™t behave in the way they want to whenever they want to. No doubt alcohol and other substances are involved in fuelling their behaviour but even aside that that group comes across as very โ€˜entitledโ€™ and they donโ€™t handle it well when they donโ€™t get their own way. Right out of the Green Brigade textbook of โ€œweโ€™ll dae what we like and if you tell us we canโ€™t then weโ€™re being unfairly treatedโ€. In other words, total bullshit.

  10. 99% of them are great guys who I've interacted with many times especially at away games but there is a tiny element who overstep the mark at times. Maybe its this Ultras phenomenon where its about trophy hunting ie pinching drums/banners from opposing groups and leaving graffiti/ stickers all over away stadiums (which the club gets billed for the cleanup). It's up to the more sensible ones to keep them in line and I think a wee get together with the WS guys and club officials to set out some guidelines on what's acceptable behaviour and what's not is called for. Just using a bit of commonsense on both sides really as we don't want this to escalate.

  11. I think SOD is a very underrated player who plays his heart out for Motherwell. I know he's had his wobbles along the way but he's always been a decent footballer in my view

  12. Just from watching the highlights there......Tom Sparrow could have sat on his heels and we don't get that crucial third goal. I think he's done really well to follow up that mistake from Salazar cos a lot of players wouldn't have bothered and nothing comes out of it. That's a good example of the kind of things that you need to do in a game to get three points. Hopefully we can show that commitment more often.

  13. He was literally the worst. Second lowest save percentage and a complete disaster at set pieces.

  14. That was a very enjoyable day today, arguably our best home performance for more than a year. I could make a case for several to be MOTM but we had no failures at all. As someone else said, Oxborough and Gordon have given us a spine to build a solid looking defence round and the addition of Maswanhise, combined with the emergence of Wilson, and SOD's new lease of life has given us some attacking impetus. Halliday looks like he is faster than a couple of weeks ago and Davor, who I thought we should have taken off when Sparrow and Seddon came on, was everywhere when Hearts tried to up the tempo. I was worried that we were going to revert to last season's tactic of trying to hold on to what we have rather than keep doing what we were doing well, but after our 15 minute wobble, we finished strongly and in the end, 3-1 flattered Hearts. Our work rate for the last 15 minutes was very impressive and I thought we managed the game well at the end. Mostly though, I just love beating Hearts. ๐Ÿบ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿบ

  15. Agree 100% with Robinson, there's definitely a player in there but he's isolated against 3 big bastard centre halves in most games. Just need him to start shooting when he's in the box. I was slating Sparrow for his invisible man act but then he popped up with a goal so that's me telt - no more slagging anyone off unless they drop an all time stinker ๐Ÿ˜‚

  16. Maswanhise has a club controlled option in his contract already, so no worries there:

  17. Probably yes, because we were 'pretty poor from open play' apparently. At least he posted his grudging admission that we won, where as the other three posters of the apocalypse are clearly marked absent, as they always are when we win.

  18. Plus he cleared that one on the line in the first half but Iโ€™m giving my vote to Oโ€™Donnell. He even popped up in left wing position at one point.

  19. Think we signed with an option to extend for 6 months

  20. On his showing so far, i think we could do a lot worse than try and extend Maswanhise's January contract till the summer. Would give us a little security knowing he'd be with us till the summer and someone wont just take him at the end of his short term deal. He's been pivotal in linking us and gives us an "out ball" and add pace - take that away and we're lacking.

  21. Excellent 1st half display...if a wee bit wasteful in the box One criticism...what are we doing to Lennon Miller? Any scout thinking he's the next big thing will be put off with us shoehorning him into whatever role it is we are asking him to do. Get him back into the middle and let him play

  25. Think we move this to a different thread for those that want to discuss it. I would rather concentrate on the match and hopefully a good performance and 3 points...COYW

  26. I agree, when I listen to them its just sounds like the "angels" in the Green Brigade who are always the victims. There is no doubt the Guys in E Block do add to the atmosphere and try and liven it up but I've seen plenty incidents where they act like complete arseholes in and outside the ground and the minute police and stewards intervene we get "Heavy Hands Empty Stands" I must be an odd supporter, I've managed to go home and away for 46 years, been pished on a few trips but have never been so much as looked at by the police or the stewards, wonder why they don't pick on me ?? they have had 46 years to do it and you'd think if the police / stewards / club apparently target people for nothing I would have had some sort of altercation in the approx 2100 games I've attended.

  27. Where as if it was Hertz supporters they would be creating an atmosphere , getting behind the team with their great club song , eh !

  28. So are you going to share the reasons for the bans and discuss the evidence for and against? Or are you just going to make claims based on no facts? I'm open minded and happy to listen to both sides of the argument, but so far have not seen anything of substance from either party. I'm guessing Caldwell has more to go on than you, but look forward to hearing the facts you have gathered so far.
