It’s all ifs and buts just now. For what it’s worth, I didn’t rate Stama even before the transfer talk, so that’s definitely shaping my view that any profit is good profit. Either way, we need a new starting CF.
Just heard JBA talking about the Ranger's game:
"Next week we have some neighbours over for dinner. Let's hope we enjoy dinner the most"
So maybe your chips will be fine.
This has been a good second half. Another game with the level of opposition going up and another improvement from us.
im just ecstatic that I’ll never see a long throw in again under JBA. This brings me joy.
We have played some decent football tonight, the high press has been effective, we are actually playing out from the back effectively instead of hoofing it forward, but its the old issue we are toothless up front, Stamatelopoulos has been anonymous.
I hope JBA has another striker lined up, as we can't start the season with what we have now.
Some folks are discussing Stama as if he’s the last striker on earth. He’s replaceable. And a profit for him, of any kind, would be a steal. We’re a player trading club after all. We should be looking to cash in and offer that money for Ronan Hale or similar. I’m confident JBA already has CF additions lined up.
It quite possibly the reason we knocked the offer back that we are playing hardball and hoping they come up with a better offer.
It's speculation only that an Italian club might sign Lennon .
JBA will know of many strikers that we could sign that are better than ap stam
We are a selling club , fact.
We would not start the season without a striker.
The transfer window is open until the end of August.
If I was a betting man I would put money on tawanda to score more goals ap stam over the season.
And lastly he might get a paper cut tomorrow and be out for six months .
Ok I’m plucking figures out of the air here but £250k to buy plus say £50k signing on fee and a years wage at say £3k per week, £150k, gives us a potential £450k outlay on him. Add the sell on fee and what’s left is not a lot for the club.
Keep him a year and if he has a good season we could get around £1.5m. Buying him was a gamble, why cash in early for next to no return?
